I have faced the same thing from paint k contractors. Firstly, if you are a girl, they don't take your opinions seriously. Second, they'll make you feel as if you know nothing and they know every single thing. Thirdly, they'll keep on doing what they feel is correct, irrespective of being told that you are dissatisfied with the finished results. Sick and tired of these contractors.

I recently started by doing the same mistake. Listened to my parents and thought it would be easy to give all the work to a contractor he soon showed his true colours and so just told him to leave and got separate painters and bathroom workers for the job. Had to everyday go to work in the hospital as a medical intern and come back and look at every thing as far as possible. Still there was so many problems in the end but still far better than the contractor who took it all. So i know the pain you are talking about.
