My mom made this on our extra poor days, when there was no money to buy meat. It was always my favorite, she made it with French fries, but i made mine with fried maduros. Love your personality, you are a pleasure to watch.

I'm born and raised in the Bronx but when I retired I moved to Cleveland Ohio to be next to my sons. You don't know how much I miss going to all the Spanish restaurants in New York City. Listening to you cook and explain all the ingredients remind me of home the Bronx. Here in Cleveland you do have your Puerto Rican communities not a lot but enough where I can go to certain grocery stores and get mi comida. Keep up the good work with your video; you're awesome. You make people feel like we're all family..

corned beef got its name from the dry curing process used to preserve the meat. A slice of beef was covered in “corns” (large, coarse pellets of salt), which would draw out the moisture and prevent the growth of bacteria.

I laughed out loud when he mentioned that adding too much water would make it look like dog food! When my kids wanted this dish they would always ask me to make the dog food for dinner! They would often take this into school as their lunch and I had to tell them not to call it dog food when they ate it in school because we did not want DCF showing up at our door asking us why we served our kids dog food.

When you’re going to open the can first take the key off the hook. Turn the key so that the part you hold is facing the wider part of the can, place the key back on the hook it should work. You just need to turn the key around prick the can on the other side with the sharp side of the bottle opener to let the pressure out.

Since COVID I’ve been making this almost once a week. Those cans are always stacked in my area of Brooklyn. Oh I figured out that you’re suppose remove the key, turn it upside down and turn it with the edge of the can. Also one thing I love with Corned Beef are fries with them. Fresh made fries adds so much to the combination.

My mom's full blood PR. She used to make the best rice abs Vienna sausage. The key is the capers and green olives. She has dementia now, but we did cook it together so I knew how to make it❤. She remembered alot. I had to use the pilan to smash up the sofrita.. she's old school🙂. She made this as well, but never with me. Thanks for the recipe. It too looks like dog food just like mom used to make😂. But it's soooo damn good. Another quick dish she made was white rice topped with fried egg over medium. Love my momma

Lol, I have done that that the can didn't open right and I used a knife too...but I've used a sawing motion to open it. Glad to see even a famous chef is down to earth. 😺😸👍😆

Hi hi... Puerto Rican Freakin Rican / Chef and Coach,
*** Hope you have time to read this appreciation message...
Your tube ooks really wonderful... Will try to cook this for family soon... All the best... From The Far East... (1st July 2022)
*** Hi hi Excellent chef and coach,
Wanted to try cook and cook soon... Then I saw that I do have a can of Libby's corn beef... It was in my pantry as a back-up for Covid pandemic (and should I be quarantined at home for at least 10 days if caught Covid)...
    Watched your video yesterday.
Today, 2nd July 2022, Saturday... I cooked it following your Utube coaching as close as possible for my senior parents who are both 86.
We do not have Sofrito here at all ...
So googled to see the ingredients of Sofrito and added...
It tasted really so wonderfully nice with one rather banana added (so happen to have just one banana left... ) ...
Heaps of thanks for your coaching...
All the best and God Bless... Pang,
Republic of Singapore (tiny winy island...)
    - The Far East, Asia...
2nd July 2022, Saturday, 13:36 hours Singapore date and time...
*** Hope to visit your country and your restaurant when Covid pandemic is well managed... It is progressively improving...
Beautiful song / music / one of our most loved late singer, Danny Chan...
Dedication... With best wishes... God Bless...

I love your channel bruh. I would have NEVER thought of using platano maduro in my corn beef but I will most definitely be doing it your way next time I make it. Congrats on having ove 100k subs, you deserve it.

This is the first time I ever added maduros and it came out great! Was never a fan of potatoes in my corned beef. The maduros add a sweet savor to it.
