I sold this right out of the box: wheels, whole radio set even the gear box, got over 200€ for it, bought full metall gear box, fusion and metall beadlocks and gt5 radio 😊😊😊
7:20 says it all, SO MUCH BODY RUB, IT WOULDN'T RUN... Hence why I bought the Ford 😍 Okay, fine, I still love Chevy! But you have to cut off way too much fender, for the big knobby Tires.
Enjoyed the video. The K10 High Trail is My least favorite Traxxas RC to drive. Yes, weight is needed down low, and when You added the much needed weight, the problem that the truck suffers from becomes EVEN more obvious. The body design (front fender wells in particular) and the 2.2 tires do NOT complement one another. Body rubs from the slightest of articulations are annoying and the more articulation the louder and more body rubbing. Depending on the angle of articulation, body rubbing does and will stop the servo from turning the tires in any direction, which leads to servo burnout. The Defender with the same amount of brass added and minus the weighted hub extenders, run circles around the K10 (with 80% less body rub.) IMO, this truck is JUST TOO nice looking for Me to even consider modifying the body, which is one of the few reason why I chose to purchase the truck. The Traxxas TRX4 that I enjoy driving most though has to go the TRX4 Sport. I dunno why, but it is My favorite Traxxas crawler. I'm knocking Traxxas or any of their other vehicles, but the K10 HT has been the most frustrating for Me. I require "performance" in addition to aesthetics and spec sheet data. Remove the body, its beast, BUT NO K10!!!! At a price point of $549.00 and minus the roll cage light bar that is standard on the Ford HT version, body rubbing should not be this terrible, I understand and except some, but this is just TOO ridiculous.
Nice truck. I can definitely use that truck for rock crawling around my property. Nice upgrades! Traxxas should've already added those upgrades to truck for the price.
This is a beautiful truck, hope to get one , one day, great video and walk through 👍 lights are a must, will make this truck even more awesome, especially for night crawls👍👍👍😀😀
Thank you for your time of watching and leaving a comment 😊 I am still running the stock servo, but it is on the list to get upgraded one day. I have just had other vehicles take priority. I really like Reefs servos. I seem to always have good luck with them and they never disappoint. Hope that helps 😊
As I see it, its okay to hate a little bit! The only reason why I would say this. Because I am a Chevy fan boy!!! And I bought the black special edition Ford F-150 XLT 😈 I hate the square fender wells on the Chevy!!! And seriously love the Ford fender wells 😍 So I have to build my Ford tough, with Chevy stuff!!!!!
Nice video, thanks for the info. I have one but still running the brushed hobbywing 555 motor. I do have the fusion family and also the XE for crawlers, but how do i install and match the system with the traxxas lighting kit? The light kit requires a couple of wires to be attached in between motor and and the esc, how do i do that with the fusion? Did you get the light kit on the truck with the fusion still in? I need some pointers here, thanks!
I completely removed all those wires and used a red JST plug to power the pro scale lights, not always perfect but works well most of the time. I have a video on my channel ruclips.net/video/fFt0VdENr9A/видео.html where I installed a hobby wing in my TRX4 sport. Not a high trail, but same concept. 😊
It’s the nature of the hobby and it depends on what you are using it for. My buddy’s did really well stock as a trail truck. It would walk over stuff I’d have to bump over. He ended up adding a whole bunch of weight to it anyway.
Great video I also subscribed. I’m a Ford guy and that’s just me. The RC it’s self is the same just the body is different. Your information was great. Keep the videos coming.
I also have the K10 version of the High Trail. My mods are very close to yours, from the hub extenders to the down low weight to a fusion as well. I just want to add that for the price the 1200kv fusion SE is a very good fit for this platform. I run somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 fusions in my different vehicles and know how nice the pro 2300kv is, but in this vehicle the 1200 SE works well. Also, I found very quickly that the stock servo wasn't up to the task and on a budget went with the 25kg pro from Amazon and have found it to be a great alternative to stock.
So I have not tried 1.9s on my high trails. On my lifted bronco I am running the low profile Hyrax. They are still 2.2s but with almost no body rub. If you throw 1.9s on my only concern would be the loss of ground clearance. Hope that helps 😊
I am new to this R. C. Truck, I have the exact same one. Can I add this hobby wing fusion motor straight without having to add anything else? Probably a dumb question, but I just don't no, Still learning.
Not a stupid question at all! Yes, you can just drop it straight in this truck. The extras would be needed if you had pro scale lighting or something like that. 😊
Swap the shock oil to 10w or 15w. Make sure the springs coilovers are not that tight. Just snug enough for the spring, then loosen the lower caps on the shocks as they come too tight and smash the o rings. Last, cut off the shock limiters, they look like bumpstopa from real cars
Did all the recommendations and I love it
That’s awesome to hear! 😄 I’m so glad the recommendations worked out for you and that you’re loving the upgrades! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Great informational video and props having Neffex soundtrack! The mini battery in front also makes it drive lots more realistic
Thank you 😊 and glad to hear you enjoy Neffex, its not for everyone 😂
I sold this right out of the box: wheels, whole radio set even the gear box, got over 200€ for it, bought full metall gear box, fusion and metall beadlocks and gt5 radio 😊😊😊
It’s not for everyone
And I agree with you with the wheels
I’m definitely going to look into the brushless system you’re talking about
They also have a hobby wing fusion SE that is cheaper but just as good! Found out about it after the fusion pro upgrade 😂
7:20 says it all, SO MUCH BODY RUB, IT WOULDN'T RUN... Hence why I bought the Ford 😍 Okay, fine, I still love Chevy! But you have to cut off way too much fender, for the big knobby Tires.
Yes! 🙌 it just wasn’t worth it to me to change out the tires

I 100% agree with you! Thanks for watching! 🥰
Best video so far Shannon.

Thank you for sharing all of these tips. I had just bought one and waiting for delivery.
You are so welcome! Enjoy your new rig and thanks so much for watching! 😊
3S 2'200 mah 50C is awesome on the front battery plate.
Thank you! 😊
Nice truck. I can definitely use that truck for rock crawling around my property. Nice upgrades! Traxxas should've already added those upgrades to truck for the price.
Thank you for watching! Yes, I agree this truck is amazing! 100% 😊 Thank you for taking your time to leave a comment
Very nice upgrades! This this has amazing low spd modulation! Sick looks too!👊🏼😎👍🏻🙌🏼✌️
100% love it! Thanks for watching! 🥰
run rubberbands front and rear so it's almost full droop.. .
Just got one today! Love this truck so much
Its amazing! No regrets here 😊
i love it here
🥰❤️🥰
This is a beautiful truck, hope to get one , one day, great video and walk through 👍 lights are a must, will make this truck even more awesome, especially for night crawls👍👍👍😀😀
For sure! And it is a pretty special truck! You’ll love it! Thanks for your support as always! 🥰
I really like the white lettering on your wheels
Thanks! It’s just a paint marker and I went through and painted all the letters 😁
Yea it really suits it , nice job 👍🏻
Absolutely huge 👍🏻! Those are all the upgrades I push as well. And finally got dad to upgrade and he loves his gladiator now! Great video girl!
Yes! 🙌 upgrades can be huge 😀 thank you for your support as always! 🥰🤩
@@RCprincess24 to me that’s a lot of the fun of our hobby is upgrading lol. And your welcome!
Hey great video I was wondering what servo you are running because mine sucks. Thanks

Gotta do what you gotta do! 😄 I personally am a ford fan but I don’t mind chevys at times
alloy axle housings are a great option too. those canyon trails are awesome. ill take em if you dont want em..
Agreed! 😄

Good upgrades! The High Trail is a great car and an expensive one :-) it's a shame that upgrades are still needed
I totally agree on this! But unfortunately they are needed and make a huge difference!
It’s the nature of the hobby and it depends on what you are using it for. My buddy’s did really well stock as a trail truck. It would walk over stuff I’d have to bump over. He ended up adding a whole bunch of weight to it anyway.
I have the full lighting kit and I hope you got it to i love mine
I have not yet 😫 other upgrades have taken priority lol
Great video I also subscribed. I’m a Ford guy and that’s just me. The RC it’s self is the same just the body is different. Your information was great. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks so much for the follow and a big thank you for your support! I also am a ford fan, but this truck caught my eye 😂 Thanks again!
What do you use for the white lettering on the tires?
Just a pack of fine tip paint markers off Amazon 😊
I just ordered black k10 just like yours waiting for it to come in I will upgrade mine
You will love it! Upgrades are almost a must with this one so it's great that your going into it already knowing what upgrades you want to do 😊
We don’t get much snow here in the south, but the tracks work really well in the dirt also but I was not a fan of the tracks
We actually don’t get that much snow either but they are fun to have around when you get the itch to use them lol
I also have the K10 version of the High Trail. My mods are very close to yours, from the hub extenders to the down low weight to a fusion as well. I have the 150 high trail and the defender with a lot of upgrade parts that will experiment with them
The high trail and defender are very nice rigs but yes upgrades are a must for them to perform to their full potential for sure 😊
I do the same things with my rigs, but i experiment with different motors.
It's part of the fun in my opinion 😄
yeah I tried 2.2 Mickey Thompson tires on my lifted bronco.........NOPE. Ridiculous rub. Do you think 1.9s would be good for the high trail?
So I have not tried 1.9s on my high trails. On my lifted bronco I am running the low profile Hyrax. They are still 2.2s but with almost no body rub. If you throw 1.9s on my only concern would be the loss of ground clearance. Hope that helps 😊
@RCprincess24 that was my concern too. I've got plenty of 1.9s lying around on treals so we'll just have to try em out. 😆
Good luck! 😊 I have not tried it so I'm honestly not sure how it would go, but anything is possible right? Could be the next greatest thing!
@@RCprincess24 I'll report back.
I love it I like the ford body better tho but I would get both
Both is a good choice! 😂 thanks so much for watching 😊
Try low cg battery tray with shorty pack.
Thank you! I will try that 😊

Nice truck !
I think so too! 😍
I have both the k10 trx4 and trx4M hightrails both in black
I am so jealous! 😂 I was to impatient to wait to get my hands on the black TRX4m to match!
@@RCprincess24 same I got the black Bronco then a week later the high trail came out, so sold my Bronco for the K10 lol

Happy to be here in this hobby with some great people! 🥰 thank you for your kind comment!
