I got the Carisma blue 76 Ford F 150 long bed two years ago, still running strong. Now they just sell it in black, but you can still get the painted complete bodies in blue or orange. They all have decals over clear windows that pull off.

Of course it needs clear windows! And yes, absolutely it needs an interior! You must add some scale bottles of starter fluid rolling around in the passenger floor for authentic vintage mud truck detail. 👍🏻

It sure does and little dudes and a hunting dog a shot gun and a beer cooler.
I was in southern il at the liquor store with a drive up window. They have an open drinking policy there. Sure enough if you waite a few minutes on the weekend the drive up window you will see men dressed in full camo driving only full size pick ups with a gun in the back window and an over size hunting dog sitting calmly in the bed. Even the girls drive full size pick ups. They all made fun of my hampster size ford ranger .
Reminded me of going to Grand Isle LA years ago; they had drive up daiquiri bars. I guess DUI isn't a thing down there 😜
Wheelbase is 336mm - longer than their previous models. I see what seems to be a new part number TRA9229 for the Traxxas Chassis Rails, 480mm (Steel) (Left & Right). The new part number was just added to a Canadian distributor's website on 08/23/2022 - so anyone wanting to convert a previous model, looks like more parts than just the lift kit and the body will be needed. I'd like to convert my Defender but run SSD RC portal delete kits and alternate between my RC4WD Interco Ground Hawg II 4.75 tires and a set of JConcepts 1.9 Fling Kings, the narrower ones that are also only 4.75 tall - would still mud run pretty well, but handle better with just a wheel and tire swap.
I am a huge Chevy square body fan ... love the look of this truck.
Like how Traxxes is improving there time line on releases according to what the RC community. Seems to me they are releasing more RTRs based on popular mods of the community.
As for the windows, yes clearing them and having an interior will make this beauty standout more then it already is.
And metal panhard bars for gods sake

These big Chevys are killing me. I’ve been resisting the best I can not to get back into 10th scale. Especially after my SCX24 addiction.
It's a good crawler had mine out at weekend crawling for a first time it ate everything up ni bother atoll! Honestly can't believe how good it was doing this!

Im a ford guy thru n thru, but cant help but like the squarebody chebby. Id love to see traxxas do a 70-77 ford supercab short bed. Maybe even a version with the sport trans but keep the locking diffs
To make this gm more scale it needs a blown motor and pulled by a tow truck. Now you have a true scale gm truck. And lets not forget to add over abundant premature rust.
Love my fords. All my gm s had untimely motor deaths. My fords are still on the road except for my last one that died at 424,000 miles.
Gm trucks are a bottemless pit for your paycheck. My fords need oil changes at 3000 miles, change all 7 fluids , replace a few worn parts and your ford truck will hit 300,000 to 400,000 miles.

Great review, as always! The 2021 Bronco does not come with a light kit, so this one seems to be following that same approach--ensures that we buy their accessories! I did for the 2021 and the full-function light kit is pretty cool.
Nice truck! I have the blazer trx4 and like it. Wish it had the clip less body! I really think this truck should have been a long bed. Short beds are dumb.
short beds look better,,,and not dumb unless its under 6'

I just hope they release the body separately. I run my TRX4 Sport with a 1978 Chevvy K10 body from proline that i've blinged with some K7 blazer parts, and i allways get loads of comments on how good my truck looks.

You should suggest to them that they make a metal panhard bar for these. I keep requesting them and keep breaking em but seems like they don’t understand

Very good looking truck. I wish a company would start making more hardbody's for us to build/modify to our liking. Thanks for sharing. A set of wheels and tires off the new losi fling king or bog hog would look sick on the traxxas mud truck they also offer axle wideners for the portals if you need them for the front for steering clearance
I still run a mamba max pro in my wraith kit from when they first came out. First kit in Lansing actually. Flawless esc.

That dirty YT algorithm 😘brought me here from an RC Review, and they were crawling pretty impressively box stock, granted it's no comp rig but it was doing better than I thought it would. I can imagine with some tuning it will be acceptable on a hard trail keeping up with it's height challenged brothers.

It’s a cool truck but I wish Traxxas would work on making sure the tires don’t contact the body when flexed on these squarebody trucks 🥲

The one thing I've noted is the motor-drive train interface is much more noisy than other TRX-4's. The lift kit exhibits a lot more angular stress at the drive shaft joints and creates a lot of noise, especially if the shock springs are stiffened up to keep the wheel wells elevated.

It's almost like Traxxas has been looking in my back yard for ideas. '79 Bronco, '87 K5 and '85 K2500. I do have the Traxxas '79 Bronco that is scaled to look exactly like my full size. Down to the Warm bumper, winch and deep dish wagon wheels with MTR's. They are identical. Now I just need the Blazer and K10 to finish the 1:1 collection.

This truck is awesome. Was going to by the blazer and do a mud truck but know I will get this! Clear windows with interior and a sound kit is needed. Looking forward to this.

I saw an image of this yesterday and I could have sworn it was fake. Traxxas, why must you revert back to painted windows? I'm glad that they got rid of the body clips though.

I just happen to have a 1975 K10 short bed and I think I need to buy this to match. My truck even has those same wheels.
the black sprayed bed pops, the truck looked great before but spraying the bed black makes it uber sexy, would like to see a roll bar with light buckets no it, i think that would make it look even better

Nice! I wish it was a Sierra Grande though (closer memory for me as that what my Nonno owned - though yes it is the very same truck, the only difference being was it sold under the GMC badge with different trim name).

Perhaps a layer of 'dull' clear paint adds to the truck for a more used look. And two large antennas on the back

I did the lift kit in one of my trx 4s. But I extended the axles a little, small amount of brass and softer springs and it actually does a decent job of rock climbing.
