A lot of this story is dependent on how the people around the protagonists think of them, you need them to like you, so be mindful on how your actions are going to make your friends feel. For example, if Hank wasn't warm towards Conner, he would not have helped, keep that in mind.

The thing about this game is that there is no "correct path." Choices you make determine the ending, yes, but the choices made vary from person to person based on their own morals. But considering most people chose to help Alice and escape, it goes to show that when actually faced with reality, there is hope for humanity.

English is not my first language so I don’t know if this is the right term but a lot of decision making games tells us that every choice matter and it’s not as true as Detroit Become Human. You haven’t play Wolf Among Us so I won’t spoil, that game is amazing too but there’s some choices that you feel that doesn’t reward you for playing like that. Detroit Become Human it’s the only game that I felt that everything I did really had an impact. I love this game so much, the pacing in some points is a little bit slower but the build up it’s amazing. The voice acting, storytelling, cinematography and score, everything is amazing. I just subscribed and I love how smart you are, I hope you keep doing this well and gets the best ending. I’ve seen other RUclipsrs play this game and they always gets killed at least two of the main characters and gets the worse endings.

Great episode! I've never seen that specific sequence with Kara and Todd, so that was cool. Good job with the confession scene as well. That one can go wrong really fast and it has a lot of interesting outcomes, but I think you got the best outcome possible. The thing with the androids being able to look into mirrors is likely due to the themes of the game, specifically are androids "alive" with a conscience or simply machines. Psychologists use a test called a mirror self-recognition test to determine if a non-human animal has the ability of self-recognition and physiological and cognitive self-awareness. The androids being able to look in mirrors is probably a reference to this idea.
I think what I love about this game are the details. As you were scanning the faces, their DOB was showing up and it was so surreal seeing people born in 2001 being 30+ in the game. And Hank was born the same year as me and he's in his 60's in the game even though now he would only be 37. Kinda trippy lol

It's wild when you think about it, but this game came in 2018 with God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 (my 2 favorite games), Spider-Man, Far Cry 5, Monster Hunter, and AC Odyssey. Hell, A Way Out and Shadow of Tomb Raider we're also good. 2018 is the best year in gaming, period
RDR2, Kingdom come and God of war are some my favorites games all came in 2018. I also played the Witcher 3 and Bloodbourne for the first time in 2018 which also so of my favourites. Spiderman and This were also great.

But now that I think about it, deflation could also explain why androids are so cheap.
It's because of the androids, in the first episode of this series when you are controlling Kara and going to watch TV there is a short segment where a presenter is talking about the economy. In short, androids make everything cheap.

I definitely get the Westworld connection. I'd also recommend the AMC series Humans if you haven't seen it - it has very similar feelings and themes, and is exceptionally well done.
You mentioned Westworld, but I would also recommend watching Humans. It's more similar to this game, where Androids are Human servants, but some breakaway from their code.

As someone who is in his late 20s, who is unemployed with no future and who doesn't have a family and no relationship or friendship with anyone outside the internet I feel mildly terrified of beeing killed off by some car just because it wants to save some useless kid from one or the other horrible generation.

lol totally love the look on peoples face when they push Leo not expecting what happens. And dang, you were so close to picking the right shelter for the best option with Alice. It was the house. You just had to continue the conversation with the crazy android at the house and you could have stayed there and learned a little more about Ra9 and get closer with Alice.

I've since watched 2 or 3 others of yours and now this one. In fact, when I did a search of "Detroit become human blind" and saw you pop up, I was delighted. I just feel like your reactions are so sincere and your reasoning and logic and choices are often good, plus the way you talk aloud to figure things out or explain your opinions to things...but your reactions, those are the best. Seeing the emotion that a great story puts on a person's face. Thank you for making vids.
The thing with people saying that androids, or synthetic life in general, couldn't possibly have emotions since they aren't real, or alive, or their intelligence is made of 1s and 0s, don't understand that people are coded as well. Instead of 1s and 0s, people are programmed by DNA in a base 4 configuration, where that DNA tells the body how to develop, what to develop, etc. Emotions are just chemistry and electrical signals, that's it. This is something quite a few people have trouble accepting, but once understanding of the chemistry behind emotions and the like is well enough understood, synthetic life could easily be made to have emotions, indistinguishable from the "real" thing, with the only difference being that androids are made of metal and plastic whereas people are made of meat.

I highly recommend you go into the extras and watch the video Kara Tech demo it's a short little video about Kara's origin that came during the PS3 era after that short was made people were obsessed with it and wanted to know what happens after so the developers were inspired to make a whole game based off of it which became Detroit. You def should check it out in the extras Main Menu
The clarity with which you play these games is always on display. You played the interrogation on point. Many people get confused because you are _supposed_ to stress him out but they think it's the opposite. The acting done for Ortiz's android, that whole scene when played right is so good. You really understand how a deviant feels and comes about. I haven't watched Westworld but I think it's something I should check out. Bravo on all your decisions. You are doing amazing. Btw, there is no "right" or "wrong" choice in this game. There are good and bad endings but this game is about the consequences of your actions, so it's your game to make. Excited to see more gameplay. Carl is awesome. He really treats his android as a person, not just a tool. The contrast between Todd and Carl is made very clear. Seeing how Todd treats androids shows he has no humanity.

Love when at 41:00 you mention how much the androids like looking at themselves. It's interesting because there's a well known test as to whether a creature is more-or-less sentient by setting up a mirror in their environment. I'm no expert but I know one of the only creatures that will look at itself and understand what it's looking at is a dolphin. Haven't done a deep dive into the background of the study of this but I remember reading this. Maybe this explains why all the androids, when given the chance, look at themselves.
It’s more motion capture than voice acting in games like this now. But better yet, he’s Kurgan in Highlander. A film so bad it’s good, made excellent thanks to Queen doing the soundtrack. Clancy Brown is a great actor anyway, but his performance in this game is fantastic. No matter what direction it takes, you always buy into his relationship with Connor.
I personally think enduring is the best choice for markus's character development (especially if you're doing pacifist route). It really adds to the drama and tragic to markus's background story. Staying true to what Carl taught him, treating androids and human equally and not choosing violent as the first move.

For some reason most let's players I watched didn't understand the assigment of applying pressure on the android, and 'failed' the scene, so I was happy that you succeeded :) A bit sad that you didn't keep going and chose to spend the night in the house as this is probably my one of my favorite branch for Kara ( also I do like Ralph lol ), but this is your choice, and I'm glad you're doing things your way !!!
David Cage's games are like the modern day 'choose your own adventure' type medium, but with today's technology making them real time and interactive. Which is also why I have always loved full on FMV games.

I know this is an old playthrough, but I’ve seen a good 40+ playthroughs of this game and have NEVER heard the conversation Kara can have with Alice in her room (when you were trying to go out the window) Guess this game is still full of surprises!
Took some time this morning to watch the first two episodes, so this comment kinda covers both of them. I'm in the middle of this game myself (technically started it several years back and it got too intense for me so set it aside; this time I started from the beginning again)-trying to stay ahead of your episodes, lol-and this game more than Until Dawn feels like you can really skew gameplays in different directions. I have a thing about androids. I've watched way too much Matrix in my life to have any sort of fond connotation to advanced, human-like AI. So being put in the shoes of android characters is interesting, especially in a game like this where I'm given some pretty free rein to approach the characters in a very sterile/mechanical way or in one that suggests/demands personality, right? And given my view of androids, that means I reaaaallly lean towards sterile/mechanical. Which is very different, obviously, from Cythetic's style. And it's amazing, just in these two episodes, how different our respective characters feel and how the storylines have diverged. (We're kinda close on Connor, Markus's leaving of Artist/Son is sooo different but I suspect we'll end up in a similar place when we pick up that storyline next ep, and uhhhhh... let's not talk about Kara.) I'm not sure how much I like Detroit: Become Human of my own accord, but I love seeing the differences in my gameplay and Cynthetic's-especially given she's generally more in-tune with game worlds and storylines and characters and everything, really, than I am.
I saw Edward Dempsey and the FIRST thing I thought of was Patrick Dempsey, Derek from Grey's Anatomy. It's cool since Markus' actor is from the same show
to stay in the car is the easiest but most uncomfy staying in the house is slightly easier but you have to deal with the creepy aspect of ralph staying in the motel is the most comfy for Alice but you have to steal money and clothes to get in and that upsets Alice a lot.

Yeah the one with the gun was my first playthrough. Most intense so far.

I've since watched 2 or 3 others of yours and now this one. In fact, when I did a search of "Detroit become human blind" and saw you pop up, I was delighted.
I just feel like your reactions are so sincere and your reasoning and logic and choices are often good, plus the way you talk aloud to figure things out or explain your opinions to things...but your reactions, those are the best. Seeing the emotion that a great story puts on a person's face.

The thing with people saying that androids, or synthetic life in general, couldn't possibly have emotions since they aren't real, or alive, or their intelligence is made of 1s and 0s, don't understand that people are coded as well. Instead of 1s and 0s, people are programmed by DNA in a base 4 configuration, where that DNA tells the body how to develop, what to develop, etc. Emotions are just chemistry and electrical signals, that's it. This is something quite a few people have trouble accepting, but once understanding of the chemistry behind emotions and the like is well enough understood, synthetic life could easily be made to have emotions, indistinguishable from the "real" thing, with the only difference being that androids are made of metal and plastic whereas people are made of meat.

I'm glad you're enjoying the game, it's one of the best games I've ever played. I highly recommend you go into the extras and watch the video Kara Tech demo it's a short little video about Kara's origin that came during the PS3 era after that short was made people were obsessed with it and wanted to know what happens after so the developers were inspired to make a whole game based off of it which became Detroit. You def should check it out in the extras Main Menu
The clarity with which you play these games is always on display. You played the interrogation on point. Many people get confused because you are _supposed_ to stress him out but they think it's the opposite. The acting done for Ortiz's android, that whole scene when played right is so good. You really understand how a deviant feels and comes about.
I haven't watched Westworld but I think it's something I should check out.
Bravo on all your decisions. You are doing amazing. Btw, there is no "right" or "wrong" choice in this game. There are good and bad endings but this game is about the consequences of your actions, so it's your game to make. Excited to see more gameplay.
Carl is awesome. He really treats his android as a person, not just a tool. The contrast between Todd and Carl is made very clear. Seeing how Todd treats androids shows he has no humanity.

P.S. It’s crazy to imagine how close we are to the time period of this game (I think it takes place in 2035). Some of the inventions (innovations?) can very well be a thing when we get to 2030 and beyond 😅

Love when at 41:00 you mention how much the androids like looking at themselves. It's interesting because there's a well known test as to whether a creature is more-or-less sentient by setting up a mirror in their environment. I'm no expert but I know one of the only creatures that will look at itself and understand what it's looking at is a dolphin. Haven't done a deep dive into the background of the study of this but I remember reading this. Maybe this explains why all the androids, when given the chance, look at themselves.
Fun fact, The voice actor of Hank actually voices Mr Krabs from Spongebob.
It’s more motion capture than voice acting in games like this now. But better yet, he’s Kurgan in Highlander. A film so bad it’s good, made excellent thanks to Queen doing the soundtrack. Clancy Brown is a great actor anyway, but his performance in this game is fantastic. No matter what direction it takes, you always buy into his relationship with Connor.
Even funnier fact: in the Italian dub they also used the same voice actor of our mr. Krabs, because fuck yeah

I personally think enduring is the best choice for markus's character development (especially if you're doing pacifist route). It really adds to the drama and tragic to markus's background story. Staying true to what Carl taught him, treating androids and human equally and not choosing violent as the first move.

David Cage's games are like the modern day 'choose your own adventure' type medium, but with today's technology making them real time and interactive.

The only part I don’t like of blind runs of Detroit is that EVERYBODY goes with the abandoned house or car, they never try any of the more risky but more fun options

Took some time this morning to watch the first two episodes, so this comment kinda covers both of them.
I'm in the middle of this game myself (technically started it several years back and it got too intense for me so set it aside; this time I started from the beginning again)-trying to stay ahead of your episodes, lol-and this game more than Until Dawn feels like you can really skew gameplays in different directions.
I have a thing about androids. I've watched way too much Matrix in my life to have any sort of fond connotation to advanced, human-like AI. So being put in the shoes of android characters is interesting, especially in a game like this where I'm given some pretty free rein to approach the characters in a very sterile/mechanical way or in one that suggests/demands personality, right? And given my view of androids, that means I reaaaallly lean towards sterile/mechanical. Which is very different, obviously, from Cythetic's style. And it's amazing, just in these two episodes, how different our respective characters feel and how the storylines have diverged. (We're kinda close on Connor, Markus's leaving of Artist/Son is sooo different but I suspect we'll end up in a similar place when we pick up that storyline next ep, and uhhhhh... let's not talk about Kara.)
I'm not sure how much I like Detroit: Become Human of my own accord, but I love seeing the differences in my gameplay and Cynthetic's-especially given she's generally more in-tune with game worlds and storylines and characters and everything, really, than I am.
Kara was the first deviant... she came from the factory that way. you can see it in the "Kara Tech Demo."

Man I forgot how great the first act of this game was. My little heart couldn't handle the more hectic moments, but it sure is fun to watch.

staying in the house is slightly easier but you have to deal with the creepy aspect of ralph
staying in the motel is the most comfy for Alice but you have to steal money and clothes to get in and that upsets Alice a lot.
