Hey Chris, I recommend trying some form of tibialis raises / toe raises (on the floor or heels on a step for extra rom) for those medial/posterior/inner shin splints. They've helped me a lot and in general are good extra strengthening for running.
Dude, I love the openness about weight. I've battled this too. I'll never be light. I'm 200-215# at six foot tall. Ugh - makes the marathon rough. I get the need to be light for that. If your open to a suggestions - keep up the body you have and keep the muscles I thinks its best long term for life and movement. One thing I like doing is tracking body composition - so I don't get too depressed hanging around so many lean, fast beautiful people. I also like the lumens device or other Co2 device to track your metabolism to know when you are burning fat versus sugar. I enjoy your sharing of the journey and love the community you have built. It so rich to do this sport with some many amazing athletes. Keep it up! Have fun in Wilmington.
Thanks Charles! You may be a bigger guy like me but you are a great triathlete and a fast runner. I’m always a little more motivated when I know you are racing with me.
Hey man I have really enjoyed your series. I live in Wilmington and you will definitely kill it! If you need any recommendations for anything please let me know! This race is definitely on my bucket list to train for one day as well.
Just wanted to thank you for motivating me. Seeing you work out early in the morning inspired me to do the same. Today, I biked from 4-5:15 am and ran from 5:30-6:10 am. Even threw in some strength training afterward!
As always Chris….. Great video 🙂👍. Also, we’re those “energy balls” you made ??? If so, recipe by chance? 😬. I love cutting up a banana, 1-spoonful of PB, and add honey ( the real kind )…. Love it 😋.
Check out a book called “run elite” the guy has a really good yt channel like yours as well. It might really hone in your running aspect. I wouldn’t use his teachings though til after your 70.3.
I bounce back and forth between a couple of Nike’s and Saucony’s. Right now my daily trainer is the Endorphin Elite (non-carbon) and racing in the Endorphin Speed 4.
Post some questions you have that I can discuss in depth on The Triathlon Show podcast with my co-hosts Austin and Tony!
Appreciate your efforts that it takes to make these videos , can’t imagine all the stopping and starting editing it requires
Thank you so much!
Love this. Embrace who you are!
Exactly. It is so easy to constantly be comparing ourselves to others in all types of ways.

Awesome! We should definitely connect when I’m there if you are around. If you are on IG, send me a message and we can exchange info.
Awesome video, subbed.
I'm in the same boat. Finally I just accepted that my body frame is naturally wide. (wide shoulders + torso)
Yes! It's just how we are built.
Thoughts after using scraper? Really enjoying your videos!
Thanks Ben! I really like the scraper. Been thinking about buying one forever. I think it’s a nice low cost tool to add in for my recovery.

Avoid ice if you can, that inhibits the blood flow, that is something you want, especially in you lower legs were the blood flow sucks
