Heidi, Heido...

I'm from Brazil and my great grandfather was from Germany, his last name was Scherer, I never met him but I feel proud to have German blood in me, their history and culture is truly great.
Fantastic, never forget your roots!
Yes..sadly the german blood in my family is getting thinner and thinner by the generation by my dad's grandpa came over from germany with the last name of Rudolf and changed it to Randolf..im happy to have the german blood in me
I have Austrian and Swiss-German blood, but it's just a little :(

Once a part German
Forever a part German
My grandfather sang that with his fellow comarades and Oberleutnant was screaming "Lauter! Lauter!"
Over 70 years later he sing time to time, when he's in a good mood.
The last time I heard a German officer said "Lauter!" was Colonel ( or Oberst) Hessler in 1965's Battle of the Bulge

This was the first german song I ever heard, it’s such a happy song and very Germanic. Thanks Dr.

Danke Herr Ludwig!
This folk song came to me randomly while i was listening to "wir lagen wor madagascar" i instantly fell in love with the rhytm and then i discovered the funny lyrics and made me even more in love with it
I love it too, it's so uplifting^^
These songs on Dr. Ludwig’s channel help bind people from all kinds of heritage, culture, and nationalities. Just today in the comments of Dr. Ludwigs Channel there were Germans, Slovenians, Chinese, Americans, French, and much more.
Thank you Dr. Ludwig for bringing us all together to listen to these masterpieces of music. Guten Nacht!
This is a perfect song for when you go drinking with your friends.

💕 🌹 GUTEN MORGEN FUR SCHONES MUSIK 🎼 🎵 🎶
Who else is here because of Accept's "Fast as a Shark"?
a Heller was a Half-Pfennig, a Batzen was 16 Pfennig.
Nearest Engliosh translation would probably be:
A farthing and a tanner, they were both mine-yes, mine
The farthing became water, the tanner became wine-yes, wine
The farthing became water, the tanner became wine!
Refrain:
hei--di, heido, heida, hei--di, heido, heida, heidi, heido, heidahaha
hei--di, heido, heida, hei--di, heido, heida, heidi, heido, heida
The innkeepers and the girls both cry out: "Alas!" - "Alas!"
The innkeepers when I come, the girls when I go - I go
The innkeepers when I come, the girl
Good translation!
The Germans sure know how to make things better than anyone from the uniforms in ww2 through to weapons, cars, beer, food from marching songs to beer music. God bless my German friends and I say this as an English man and Yorkshire man 😊
Haben wir damals aufm Uffz-Lehrgang gelernt. Lange lange ist's her... 👍

^gut, gut !

It is a students song from the " Kommers book" nobody has sung it except students and students from A- level. Sorry.
i like this song
I'm not German but I think this song is awesome!
Edit: im italian american
Same bro
It's awesome except for one thing: it was used by Nazi troops marching East through Poland and then Soviet Union when Hitler planned to put into action his devilish plans of expansion Eastwards to "increase the living space for Germans"! It meant killing or enslaving millions of people and bloody land grabs. Therefore, in the ears of WW2 descendants sounds terrifying and/or unpleasant to say the least. I understand that other nations or young people in Germany may not be aware of this, therefore, I'm not judgemental. Just clarifying.
@@gorylatkokinda sad, but didn't mean that bad guys using things would mean those things are bad isn't it?

If only my dimes turned into wine :(
Well at least your $20 can turn into wine
Mal sehen in welche Gesichter man dann schaut.

This song was sang commonly by Wehrmacht in ocupied Poland between 1939 - 1945. This song has a very bad connotation in Poland.
In NS-Germany they used all the older folk songs ofc too. But the song itself is innocent.
500.000 Poles were soldiers of the Wehrmacht.
My German Blood is a 50% mix of Rhine Water where i grew up and still live and 50% Sudetenland from my Fathers Side.
It has bad associations in Poland.
A song from 1830 oO
@@dr.ludwig in September 1939 it was heard on Polish streets.
@@thomson7689 Maybe. And Germans too. Things happend. And this song has no relations with Poland. So what?
