Beautiful! Wonderful balance of storytelling. Looks like you had two great trips. You clearly have a special camping spot on the second trip nicely set in the evergreens.
What views! Glad to see your starting to do more videos of your camping. Your set up and capabilities are amazing. Can't wait to see more. (-Kari from runaway rally in Ocala 👋🏽)
Hi there. Thanks for watching and commenting. We were just talking about you guys last weekend when Ellen was hanging her camper ornament on the tree. Hope to see you guys there in a couple weeks.
Priceless! I’m from Boone, N.C., and although I’ve lived all over the world, the Blue Ridge Mountains remain my favorite area on Earth. Thank you for sharing! I’m building out my FJ Cruiser to do just what you did for next year.
Love the Boone area. You’re right, it’s really hard to beat the Blue Ridge. It’s seems like every turn you make, the views are better than the last. Very nice on the FJ, love that platform. Maybe we’ll cross paths in the backcountry. Thanks for watching, much appreciated.
My Friend Scotty thinks he knows a lot about Overlanding. After watching your video and seeing your setup, I realize that Scotty doesn’t know. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for watching and for the kind words. This was our first attempt at a trip video so we appreciate the encouragement. If you could ever swing getting down a bit earlier, the color would be worth it. We’d like to get up north and explore as well. Would love to see the Catskills and Adirondack’s, Maine north woods etc.
@@outdoorobservations Well if you're up our way the Trans NJ Trail starts up at High Point where you can catch the colors earlier. By the time it passes my home in the Pinelands there isn't any color and the trails are Sugar sand :(
Great video. If your ever back up this way do your self a favor and stop over in Bedford Va. at Blue Ridge Overland Gear right near the Peaks Of Otter. They have great gear if you haven’t heard of them and they also do an Overland flea Market where I’ve gotten some really good deals on used gear.
Thanks. Actually we stopped by BlueRidge overland a couple of years ago after expo East. Great products for sure. Also stopped at the National D Day memorial in Bedford as well. Beautiful place and well worth the visit. Thanks for watching!
We have a Joolca shower system that we carry with us so we are able to get a nice hot shower when needed. As far as bathroom breaks there are many options out there from a 5 gallon bucket and toilet seat with the double lined bags that seal after use to multiple portable toilet brands.
Thanks for watching. We are fortunate to be able to go up to that area quite often and we just drive in and explore the NF’s and Wma’s a couple at a time. Don’t really keep gps cords since we are so familiar with the area at this point. A big part of the fun for us is just exploring different roads and finding spots to camp as we go.
Hey I just subscribed, I have a Hiker trailer , the competition to the Runaway like you have . It’s not very old and I haven’t had a chance to go very far down the blue ridge . I did make it to Mile High campground on the way back from picking up the trailer from the factory in IN. I’d like to camp in some of those spots . How do I go about locating epic spots like that in the Blue ridge?
Hi there. Thanks for following along. What we do is use Gaia, OnX off-road, trails off road etc. We will pick a wma such as BlueRidge, Chattahoochee-Oconee etc and go up and explore one or two of them per trip. There are a lot of dispersed campsites throughout those areas that you’ll come across. If you haven’t done it already, you should check out the Georgia Traverse trail.
where is the camp site where it looked like y'all were at the top of the mountains and you had the drone flying all over showing what all was around you ? at the 4:51 mark ..thanks

Thank you. They were great trips. We are fortunate to be able to get up that way from Florida often and explore.
Looks like some great spots . We love that area of the country, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Spectacular!!! Especially like your drone work. The shots of the mountains was breathtaking! Great job!
Thanks so much for the kind words, Bob. Appreciate your support.
Gorgeous scenery. Love the fall colors.
Thanks. It was beautiful up there for sure!

Wasn’t aware of that trail, I’ll check it out. Living in Florida, I feel your pain on the sugar sand :(
Nice video, love the camp set up and the area. God Bless

Amazing video ❤
Thanks so much. Appreciate you watching.
The drone footage around the 4/5 minute mark of the video at the top of those mountains was absolutely stunning!!!! Where is that located?
What road gets you to the parking area at 4:50
What do y’all do for showers and restroom breaks lol

Great video and nice rigs! Do you have any gps cords to the places you camped?
