The more i see videos of Northern Georgia...the more i like it. I have been to Georgia many times over the years but never thr northern part. I definitely need ti make plans to explore it. Greay video...thank you for sharing your trip!
@@itsaboutfam Thanks for watching. Honestly, north Georgia is almost like a different state. We love it there. You guys have to go check it out.
@@outdoorobservations It's definitely in our plans. Me and my wife want to visit that town with like Denmark architecture. I also believe that the same town is near access to the GAT also.
@@itsaboutfam Yes. Helen Georgia, modeled after a German town. The Georgia traverse passes close by. All those north Georgia town are great with lots of camping in the area. Blueridge, Elijay, Clayton etc. There are a lot of national forest, wma areas with great camp spots.
Happy Trails Thanks 🙏🏼 Dont You want to Runaway 😊
Absolutely gorgeous! I have been researching these campers and am undecided between the Rangerunner and the Rouser. As an older person, do you ever regret your choice? Feel like there's not enough heads pace, hate crawling in on your knees???
@@tisenhow We don’t regret our choice because 90% of our camping is in the backcountry and a rouser would be too tall for the trails we go down. If we were just camping in campgrounds, then absolutely it would be nice to be able to stand.
A lot of owners end up selling their runaways because they're too cramped. It's often the most cited reason on a lot of RUclips channels why they sold it. Go with the rouser. That extra space goes a long way. You're gonna be on public roads 99% of the time. Off-roading is a little dangerous and there's always a chance you'll get lost or injured doing that. A regular road camper is generally gonna be enough as long as you use common sense. Comfort is everything. It's absolutely worth it. Get the rouser! 👍
@@AlFonso-p6p The rouser won’t get to where we like to camp, but I appreciate your input. Too many trails we go on that clearance would be a big issue and we aren’t ready to be limited as far as where we can go just yet. Thanks for commenting.
Is your 4 runner Stock or did you add a lift
$450 for the roof rack add on. Thats way overpriced. Ill install my own and save me about $300
Can you share the link for the tiles?

Absolutely Beautiful!!! I have the same 4runner and have been searching for a camping trailer. This has sealed the deal for me. Its PERFECT! Thanks you for the review and for sharing! ❤❤❤❤
@@jroddy1 Thanks for watching!
Nice set up!!
@@harvmac69 Thanks.
Very nice.
@@harrymills2770 Thanks!
Love it! Simple and really nice looking :)
Thanks. Appreciate you watching!
wish I was there
Wowed that fire 🔥 Neón sunset 🌅 was spectacular 😊
It was a good time for sure!
Do you use the ac and what is it like noise wise when or during quiet hours ? I am a tent camper so that may explain my ignorance.
We are in Florida so we do use the a/c quite often at night. The wife and I both like some white noise when we sleep so it actually works out well for us. We don’t find it to be overly loud at all. Maybe we are just used to it, but it’s a life saver come sleep time.
Love this! Do you know what type of insulation value the trailer and windows offer? The price point is great if it is a well built trailer. Thank you for sharing.
@@johnroden3431 Thanks for watching, John. I really don’t have any good info for you on the insulation value. I know that the panels are a composite honeycomb and are about an inch thick. We are in Florida and I can tell you that during the summer it doesn’t take very long in the evening for the A/C to get cold enough to run you out of there. It gets chilly. Honestly I can’t really comment on freezing temps because I have been in those conditions enough say.
@outdoorobservations thank you for the reply. We go skiing up North in Michigan when we can, in KY it's hot as biscuits in summer, so I need to get something descent for both hot and cold environments. The wrap looks great btw on whoever wrapped it. The price tag is great on this unit!
@@johnroden3431 Gotcha. We are about to do some serious upgrades to ours as far as power goes. We plan on traveling the backcountry for the next couple of years in it and will be heading to Alaska next year for the summer. I think a good diesel heater would be good for some serious cold temps. Only got to keep a 6x8 warm enough to sleep.
@@outdoorobservationsbest of luck on your big adventures, if you travel through KY check out Red River Gorge area, it's beautiful! Diesel gels up in very cold weather, but I'm sure there is some great heating options out there. I really like the InTech trailers as well, the other brands in the 30k plus is just a bit more than I want to spend on a camping trailer.
what mpg are you getting with/without the trailer?
Depends on how heavy my foot is that day but around 16.5 to 17 without and between 12 and 13 with.
@@outdoorobservationsI have the same 4runner and was wondering the same. Still worth it compared to paying $200-$300 night for hotel room.
What awning do you have.
Ovs nomadic 270
Awesome, "keep on truckin"
@@rikwarren3999 Thanks, appreciate you watching and leaving a comment.
Great video, what size generator do you use to run the ac when boondocking
Thanks. We purchased a wen 2350 on sale from Amazon. Had it for a couple of years and it’s been good.
@@outdoorobservations thanks for the helpful information. I just placed my runaway trailer order and we are trying to make sure we have the important things for when it’s ready
@@NoExcusesOverland Congrats on the order. There are lots of good generator options out there. I know people like the champion dual fuel option also.
@3:25 What do you use as a wind generator? Sounds pretty cool.
Forgive my accent lol. I was saying Wen generator, it’s the brand of the little inverter generator we have.
Do you have a list and URLs of all these cool gadgets?!

Very nice setup.
@@sbayles5593 Thanks.
Hi. Just wondering how much did it cost you guys for the entire build? I’m considering getting one but on a low budget. Thank you..
It would be hard to give an exact number as we bought the camper and added things over a period of about 3 years. I’d guess probably around 14-15k. You may want to join some of the Runaway Facebook groups and you may come across some used ones at a good price that could work with your budget.
Where is this place ???😱
Near Helen. Drive through Chattahoochee River Rd and it's easy to find a good spot
@OperatorOG definitely a nice area to camp.
Do you have a toilet of some kind? I have to believe that Ellen would insist on that to complement the shower.
You are correct in your belief about Ellen’s insistence lol. We do have a cassette toilet that we carry.
@@outdoorobservations When you have camp set-up where do you keep the toilet -- in the dry part of the shower tent? Also, I assume when traveling it goes in the back of the Forerunner?
@@jfletcher4949 Yes the toilet is in the dry room of the tent and when we are traveling it is tucked in on the floor of the camper along with other items around it.
Excellent! I live near N Ga and have a T4Runner. You have inspired me!!
That’s awesome, Chris. You’ve got the perfect vehicle to get out and explore!
Can you give us more detailed info on the cubbies and drawers? We’d love to do that and yours looks amazing!!
It’s been about 3 years since we purchased them but I believe the brand was eket and we got them from ikea. We tried to replace one of the drawer inserts a few months back that I damaged but couldn’t find them or the cubby at our local ikea. Not sure if they discontinued them or not. The dimensions on the cubbies were 10 3/4” x 9 7/8” x 10 3/4”.
Do you have a video on the big awning you have on your camper?
We don’t have a video on just the awning. It is an OVS (Overland Vehicle Systems) 270 nomadic. We have had it for about 2.5 to 3 years and it’s been great.
How has the Runaway held up? Have you gone off-road with it? Does your 4Runner have any issue pulling it? Did you have to add a trailer brake to your 4Runner? Great Video! I love the wrap.
It has held up well. We go off road quite a bit with it, there are a couple of videos on the channel where are off road. No issue with the 4Runner pulling it. If I’m in the mountains I’ll put the transmission over to manual and use 4th or 5th as needed. The venturist came with brakes so I added the redarc tow pro elite brake controller.
Great video isn't the Venturist great?!
We love ours.
Great ideas and nice job fixing up the inside and outside. The wrap looks great! 😊
Thanks. Appreciate you watching.
@@outdoorobservationshow much did the wrap cost?
@@jroddy1 it was around $1300 but that was 3 years ago. I’m sure it would be more these days.
Great set up! I love what you guys have done!
Thanks. Appreciate that.
Way way to much stuff if I had to take that much stuff i wouldn't even leave the driveway
Awesome rig and a great reminder that an adventure trailer doesn't need to cost $50k to enjoy it and get outdoors!
Thanks for watching!
Well said!
Great looking camper. I hope to have mine soon. I ordered a modbug 12lrk over a month ago.
Thanks, appreciate you watching. Good luck with your new camper. The waiting is the worst part.
I have the Stargazer Chair and LOVE IT!!!!
Ellen loves hers too. Thinks it’s the best thing ever.
Amazing. I love the down-to-earth presentation. Thank you for giving us insight into your setup and your adventures. Subscribed!!!
Thanks. Appreciate you subbing and leaving a comment.
Great video! How are the door frames on that trailer? I´m looking at buying one but saw another review that said the door frames are not very strong and tend to flex over time. They´re made of soft aluminum? Would you mind giving your feedback_ Thx!
Thanks. The trailer is lightweight, I think mine comes in at just over 1100lbs from the factory. The door frames are aluminum but I personally have not had any issues. We don’t have the rear door on our unit, those are larger and I have heard of some sagging and needing adjustment. Our side doors have had no issue to this point.
I just came across your channel, and I think this video is great! It is going to be one of my 'goto' videos as I continue to shop for my first rv trailer! Thank you! I subscribed immediately! 😊
Thank you for watching and for the comment. Good luck with your search. There are so many options out there, it can be overwhelming.
That campsite is it on Corbin creek?
Yes
An Absolutely Beautiful Location! Thank you for sharing!!
what is the black box looking thing that spouts water out? did i miss the name of it and what its for?
That is a Dometic Go water jug and faucet. We fill it from our ro water system on the sink at our house and use that water for making coffee etc. The faucet charges using a usb c cable and holds a charge for a good while.
Do you know off hand which baskets you have on the upper shelf? I'm looking for something to fit on that shelf in our Range Runner. I currently have some up there that don't fit and they're about worn out. I like your lower shelf idea too. We have a front - back queen so the lower cubbys wouldn't work for us. We have "wire" shelving up front going from side to side. I bought 2 "3 shelf" kits that were about 22" wide. On the two outer racks I used 2 shelfs then used one to connect them in the middle. It sits just below the AC and is a good place to put junk... too bad it just falls through 🤣🤣
Funny you ask about the baskets. We are actually in the process of trying to find some that are a better fit. These are not deep enough so we have some stuff propped behind them to keep them from sliding around. If we find something that fits well, I’ll share that info.
@@outdoorobservations Thanks! Thanks. We've been busy getting ready for our first trip of the year and I feel like I wasted the winter and now have to hurry up and do it all in a few weeks.
That sounds familiar lol. Seems like we do the same thing as well.
Wowed them Arial shots are awesome award winning seriously 😊
Appreciate you watching and leaving a comment.
Love your setup - probably because it has a lot of the same components that we have. Chair, small folding table, larger table, fire pit, carpet. Great minds think alike!
Thanks. We get a lot of use out of it and it’s served us well.
Really enjoyed this review video, nice to see what others use. Been on the fence regarding the Scottle and paying that much for something so simple. We have the propane fireplace as well and my wife likes your chair. I’d say you’re our age or a tad younger, do you find the camper of that size a lot of work?
We really enjoy the skottle, it’s versatile and packs down easily. One of the things we like the most about our camper is how easy it is just to hook up and go. We had a 32ft fifth wheel in the past and find this much less hassle to head out for a quick weekend trip.
Another great video in a beautiful setting. God bless. And thank you.
Our pleasure!
My wife and I are both retiring at the end of 2024, we are researching the compact camper options. Your videos are the very best, informative and inspiring. Y’all keep the videos coming cause I going to keep watching.
Congrats on the upcoming retirement. Thanks for the kind words, we appreciate you watching!
Curious why you went with the offroad version when you are in FL? I'm looking (live in South GA) but I'm thinking the offroad is overkill. Maybe I'm missing something. Appreciate any feedback and loved the video!
Hi Jim. We live close to the Georgia border off 95 and our favorite camping is in the backcountry. We mainly camp in north Georgia, Tenn, and Nc. Probably 95% of what we do is dispersed so the off-road made the most sense.
Which spare tire carrier did you use? I'd like to get one for my runaway as well!
We are out of town camping off the grid. Very limited service. When we get back home in a couple of days, I’ll try and find the link to it for you.
