I love how Kane handled the oldest view. He took what fundamentally was so enthralling about the backrooms and made his on form liminal space based on a real place, real events and real people. The eeriness of being in a place once full of life, that feeling of being trapped and a familiar yet threaten force chasing you. I'm really looking forward to his career.
The surreal thing is I grew up going to that mall, and vividly remember it. It’s so eerie to see the distinct decor of the old Disney store that used to be there, even more so when the giant first appears to him right by it.
I think the old man is the botanist, look at his facial hair and clothing. Plus he's picking up a flower and takes out a classy journal from the time period
For me the thing that creeps me out the most is cause I saw the rolling giant in real life. When I was younger I went on a field trip to the mall and it was empty. I think they wanted us to go in for us to do an art activity, but I remember seeing the giant up close and even back then it freaked me out. I though it moved on it own but it was just my paranoia. This series does capture the fears of the unknown real well
While I don't want to downplay creative efforts of many other series covered on this channel, I am pretty happy to see something more professionally looking instead of distorted jpegs.
Eh, Analog Horror is a pulpy format. Part of the low barrier of entry is that you get a lotta beginners who just wanted to try something and don't find their footing until their second, third, forth project. Praise the gems, and measure critique to doses appropriate to practice. That's how one helps foster vibrant creative communities
Genuinely the greatest of horror and film In general on RUclips when it comes to unsettling the viewer. Never been this unnerved. Personally so tired of the analog horror tropes especially the IP stuff but when I found kane pixels those years ago and watched the oldest view a couple months back I was so surprised. The fact it was a real mall and the giant was a real piece of artwork is just *chefs kiss* Looking forward to his backrooms film
I'll say, if the theory that the forest is an older point of time and we see who the rolling giant is based on, and the older lookin fella looks like that rendition of that botonist. Not to mention the fella with the beard looks through a book, examines flowers. How you wouldn't connect the two is beyond me.
I love the more cinematic feel Kane went with for this project. Both The Backrooms and The Oldest view involve found footage in liminal spaces but they both have such distinct tones, two separate vibes! Also, I always interpreted the man with a beard to be the botanist, and what we see of him I could see that as him researching or appreciating nature.
I’ve watched about three explanations, but nobody mentioned that as soon as Wyatt says “I don’t like this” about the giant, something almost sounded like it said “huh?!” and then the lights started to come on and the music began to play like the giant was trying to create the old feel of the mall. Very creepy when I watched it alone!
If pigs had wings, Would they fly? edit: To make this make more sense. Let's say these pigs have wings that can make them fly without any issues, Would they use it to their advantage, and if so how?
Any time I see any horror films, analog or found footage or even in movies I see them as like what if this happened to our world or maybe an alternate version/universe
this is definitely is my favorite online series, the part in the original video where it said the part about anatomically modern humans made me shiver to my bones, especially since on Kane's second channel, Not Kane Pixel; he posted the soundtrack for each episode, and the one for that part is called Jebel Irhoud, after the archaeological site in Morocco where the oldest modern human was found.
I dont really know much backrooms but, It would be cool if this somehow connects to the whole beginning of backrooms. i really loved this and hoping to watch more of it! Good job as always :)!
I do hope it goes the way of the Rolling Giant actually being a good guy, or at least a neutral guy A giant forgotten statue that was just too curious about the person after not seeing anyone in so long, perhaps angry at first as the last thing it remembered humans doing to it was destroying it, but eventually calming down and changing its mind on trying to hurt Wyatt, now trying to undo what it ended up doing to Wyatt by chasing him around and causing him to fall I think it'd be really cool to have the main 'monster' of a series like this being an entity capable of both being good and bad depending on various factors. It being flawed and prone to emotions like us, understandably mad after being left behind so long ago only to be face to face with a human - someone it blames for its abandonment in that moment, and not just an objective and terrible evil or an otherwise animalistic being with no sense of morality like most creatures from these types of horror series
Great theory man honestly if kane hadn't have confirmed the guy in the first video is the botanist the giant is based on the idea of multiple Wyatt's living then dying and being trapped in the mall is genuinely terrifying as it's a fate he's only escaped once out of countless many tries
the company which owns the mall is starting a project Dallas Midtown as a form of mall revival. This is what brought Wyatt back. If the mall is demolished in real life and what "remains" of it metaphysically is underground and thats where Wyatts death takes place, then bringing it back up will make Wyatt's death impossible. Timey whimey movie mall magic. But it makes sense.
I really appreciate these videos because I absolutely love the creativity put in by Kane Pixels and a lot of Analog Horror titles. But I'm way too chicken to watch them completely on my own. Its nice to be able to enjoy the creativity behind these works that I likely wouldn't be able to appreciate otherwise. Analog horror just always gets to me where pretty much no other horror medium does.
My favourite part of this an series is that kane somehow managed to make such convincing visuals that people in the comments thought this was evidence for an underground slave ring led by joe biden 😂. No clue where they got that idea but the fact that they thought it was real enough to speculate about it is very impressive
if you look at the picture of the real dude he looks strikingly similar to the first black and white gentleman in the meadow. same beard same same hair style. clothing from the same time. just why is he there?
Your story makes sense Wyatt is shown as the rolling giant when the light opens and he escapes in a different scene and wyatt could possibly connect or even be Julien. possibly when escapes. Its more of the same forest until it takes over the dispersal. Julien probably becomes the rolling giant. Personally this is my story at the end but. ok
Man, this one really didn’t get to me. The rolling giant itself constantly made me laugh with its flowery hands waving in the air and the bulging papier-mâché face. The second I heard the spinning rolling wheels, exactly like a mop bucket, I just couldn’t take it seriously. Respect the effort and the story he’s trying to tell; because I still like the story itself, but I cannot wrap my head around people finding this scary. To each their own though
I think the mall being underground signifies that it’s dead and buried (because it was demolished but is magically underground somehow) and the main character is essentially disturbing a grave, this makes me believe the rolling giant is a gravetender in a way or some sort of gaurdian
In my opinion/headcanon, this DOES take place in the same world of Kane's Backrooms. The mall/giant is another entity similar to the backrooms, but different in it's own ways. And as far as I know Kane hasn't said anything against them sharing a world. So I like the idea of them being connected.
Unrelated to the vid but could a series about a depressed MC getting a friendship with an uncanny eldritch being work? Thinking about creating something like this for a while now.
I think balancing comedy and actual substance would be very important. I don’t make the main character just “I’m so sad all the time you don’t scare me.” What in his life made him the type of person to not go insane? Why is the Eldritch being even interested in a human? I think the concept is fun, just make sure the emotional purpose stays in touch
Even tho the botanist is most likely not wyatt, if he is, then that makes a paradox, wyatt gets sent to the past, a memorial(the giant) is made of him, then future wyatt finds the mall and gets "dispersed" around time
The older man is supposed to be Julien Reverchon, whom the Rolling Giant is based on. The mall is probably a form of purgatory, and the Giant left the mall because Wyatt is supposed to die, not escape.
This analog horror series I find interesting because unlike his backrooms one it’s not where Wyatt gets lost in a never ending mall and being hunted down by a evill creature, it’s about being remembered, the monster was a real thing that existed and lived a happy life and so was the mall, but after being lost to time, the giant just wanted someone to remember, it wanted someone to know about what it was
I also have a theory that in the last entry the giant saw that Wyatt had died and brought him back to life so he could escape and tell people about the mall and be remembered
Oh gosh I’m EARLY. I have Wendy’s saucy nuggs and now THIS! It’s gonna be a good lunch. Also, the man at the beginning kind of looks like the Botanist!
I'm using my grandma's phone to watch analog horror because my cousins ruined it by watching those cringy creators in short I'm changing it so that it will only recommend horror videos
4 plus please check out caleb finn's two videos on the oldest view he really goes in depth about everything there is to see and know and pulls a ton of info from various sources in the video and other media, it is quite a good end to the series. Or if you think it could be a possible continuation of it depending on your personal outlook.
I like the idea that the Rolling Giant tricks Wyatt twice, using his sense of safety as a trap. It also somehow makes it scary even in the light lol.
I personally find this series even more intriguing than the backrooms. The aesthetic themes and story just hit so hard for me
I love how Kane handled the oldest view. He took what fundamentally was so enthralling about the backrooms and made his on form liminal space based on a real place, real events and real people. The eeriness of being in a place once full of life, that feeling of being trapped and a familiar yet threaten force chasing you. I'm really looking forward to his career.
i read that as kanye not once, not twice, but three whole times
The surreal thing is I grew up going to that mall, and vividly remember it. It’s so eerie to see the distinct decor of the old Disney store that used to be there, even more so when the giant first appears to him right by it.
I think the old man is the botanist, look at his facial hair and clothing. Plus he's picking up a flower and takes out a classy journal from the time period
As someone named Wyatt, hearing you say “We’re introduced to Wyatt…” as I looked away from the video freaked me the hell out.
One of the most original and innovative short series I have ever set my eyes upon.
The fact it was a real mall and the giant was a real piece of artwork is just *chefs kiss*
Looking forward to his backrooms film
Bro the dude in black in white in the beginning is the French botanist stuck in some time loop. Cmon now.
Yeah, and is the guy the giant is designed after
This is my assumption as well. The suit is not modern.
@TheDoc_Kthey don’t really look similar wyatt has curly hair and a different bodybulid
@TheDoc_K The man in the beginning is credited as Julien Reverchon, so not likely.
i remember when you were a niche channel with around 10k subscribers covering analog horror. really glad to see you growing with every passing moment
*Stands at rhe top of Stairs*
"AHA YOU FOOL!"
*Lights flicker*
"Hes behind me isn't he?"
4:11 that kinda looks like a gas chamber; then the smell of cut grass is mentioned
The amount of black mold
There is a gas, I don’t remember what exactly it’s called, but if you’re close enough to smell it you’re dead. That gas was used in gas chambers
I'll say, if the theory that the forest is an older point of time and we see who the rolling giant is based on, and the older lookin fella looks like that rendition of that botonist. Not to mention the fella with the beard looks through a book, examines flowers. How you wouldn't connect the two is beyond me.
The bearded man not bein the botonist and wyatt instead just don't sound right
It hit different when you've been to this mall your whole life and even lived right by it 15 yrs ago. Creepy feeling
The oldest view is a series I keep coming back to and recommending to people. It’s just so haunting and sad and I love every second
The Iceberg Boy (wendigoon) is especially scared of Mr. Oldest View...
Why? he just wants to give him a hug :(
Mr. Oldest Hugs just wants to show him how kind he gets
"Iceberg boy"😂
I let dr. Rolling give me hug :D
I love the more cinematic feel Kane went with for this project. babe wake up 4 plus posted AGAIN!!!
As a Wyatt I can confirm that we do go into mysterious holes in the ground
Finaallllyyy, i just watched the series last week and was hoping for u to review it
I’ve watched about three explanations, but nobody mentioned that as soon as Wyatt says “I don’t like this” about the giant, something almost sounded like it said “huh?!” and then the lights started to come on and the music began to play like the giant was trying to create the old feel of the mall. videos like this remind me why i fell in love with your channel. 10/10 love it
If pigs had wings, Would they fly?
edit: To make this make more sense. Let's say these pigs have wings that can make them fly without any issues, Would they use it to their advantage, and if so how?
depends on whether or not the wings could hold them up
@@inconvenient-antifascist Let's say they did. Would they?
Depends on how big the wings are
Or if they wanted to do so
I wanna taste pig wings dipped in barbecue sauce
Any time I see any horror films, analog or found footage or even in movies I see them as like what if this happened to our world or maybe an alternate version/universe

I kinda thought the grey man in the beginning was supposed to be the French Botanist
I do hope it goes the way of the Rolling Giant actually being a good guy, or at least a neutral guy
A giant forgotten statue that was just too curious about the person after not seeing anyone in so long, perhaps angry at first as the last thing it remembered humans doing to it was destroying it, but eventually calming down and changing its mind on trying to hurt Wyatt, now trying to undo what it ended up doing to Wyatt by chasing him around and causing him to fall

Imagine being the guy who wrote the original Backrooms post on 4chan
Great theory man honestly if kane hadn't have confirmed the guy in the first video is the botanist the giant is based on the idea of multiple Wyatt's living then dying and being trapped in the mall is genuinely terrifying as it's a fate he's only escaped once out of countless many tries

Timey whimey movie mall magic. But it makes sense.
8:09 I almost had to stop watching the first time I saw this in the guys video, that’s my worst fear and he portrayed it perfectly
I lost 5 DAYS OF SLEEP Because of this series.
The older, bearded man is the French botanist.
I really appreciate these videos because I absolutely love the creativity put in by Kane Pixels and a lot of Analog Horror titles. But I'm way too chicken to watch them completely on my own. It looks scarier when it looks like that 2005-2010 quality
if you look at the picture of the real dude he looks strikingly similar to the first black and white gentleman in the meadow. same beard same same hair style. clothing from the same time. just why is he there?
Can’t believe you missed the title opportunity of “the old (re)view” or somthing along those lines
Please do more Harmony and Horror! Some of the more recent installations are insanely good
YES FINALLY HE COVERS THE OLDEST VIEW
I believe the botanist at the beginning of the series is meant to be Julien Reverchon (at least an actor portraying him).
Your story makes sense

possibly when escapes. Its more of the same forest until it takes over the dispersal. Julien probably becomes the rolling giant.

To each their own though
King 4plus blessed us with more content
The giant looks kinda goofy ahh
Change my mind
His size is beautifully unnerving
bro just wanted a hug :(((
Someone made a Minecraft mod of the Rolling Giant so you can experience the terror on your own! 😅
this is like one of those nextbots
The oldest view is definitely the single most unique analog horror, finally no more distorting humans or more anomaly stuff
Would you ever make a video about the Batman or Superman horror analog.😅
I think the mall being underground signifies that it’s dead and buried (because it was demolished but is magically underground somehow) and the main character is essentially disturbing a grave, this makes me believe the rolling giant is a gravetender in a way or some sort of gaurdian

Rolling Rizzler in a mall following you
Even tho the botanist is most likely not wyatt, if he is, then that makes a paradox, wyatt gets sent to the past, a memorial(the giant) is made of him, then future wyatt finds the mall and gets "dispersed" around time
Buddy, the guy at the start isn't Wyatt lmao. Kane Parsons plays Wyatt and the other guy is Julien Reverchon...the giant :)
fantastic video man
4 PLUS PLEASE WATCH I CANT SLEEP PLEASE ITS PEAK I SWEAR
My theory is that the person in gray is the france guy or the giant.
im pretty sure that the man in the beginning is the french botanist that was mentioned in the later entry.
Didn't know they made moist critical a horror vid lol
rolling giant kinda looks like ps1 hagrid
try Nocturnal Chronicles man you gonna like it
The older man is supposed to be Julien Reverchon, whom the Rolling Giant is based on.
The mall is probably a form of purgatory, and the Giant left the mall because Wyatt is supposed to die, not escape.
The man in the beginning in Julian reverchon, the French botanist you talked about.

Oh gosh I’m EARLY. I have Wendy’s saucy nuggs and now THIS! It’s gonna be a good lunch.
Also, the man at the beginning kind of looks like the Botanist!
Getting the biscuits for this episode
Mr oldest hugs really does have kind eyes
Don't be afraid of the rolling giant, just ride it like a skateboard!
You should check out the Batman Analog Horror series. You might find it interesting
17:39 I thought it WAS Wyatt. I thought he was driving and using a cheap camera and constantly fumbling and adjusting it
2:23 bro paper furries have something to show you
Do a video on Midwest Angelica it’s a underrated masterpiece in my opinion
I'm using my grandma's phone to watch analog horror because my cousins ruined it by watching those cringy creators in short I'm changing it so that it will only recommend horror videos
NOOO NOT THE MOISTCRITIKAL STATUE GAHHH THE HORROR
16:38 Wyatt didn’t slip, it’s the beams that broke not him slipping
thank you for using those smileys they look so silly
i will let gang know i fw this
Hello (I will watch this before bed 4 hours later from now goodbye)
this one is somehow a million times scarier than the backrooms
Is it just me, or does the giant look like Hagrid but with PS2 graphics?
Fr 😭
@The_voices_are_getting_louder_ I know right?
its a bit more narrative driven than the previous shock, scare and scientific wonder that the backrooms was. its good but not my idea.
what if it was the freaky view
The man in a suit reading a book in entry 1 looks very similar to the French botanist…
Oh.. well i already saw this before
But great video tho
bro, its a silly ahh statue, best idea ever fr (funny)
Please, cover the Batman Analog Horror
React to global defence organization i think you mey like it they are siple videos but they are cool (sorry for the bad ING)
Will you check out Batman analog horror please?
PLS REVIEW SKINAMARINK 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
hi 4plus just to let you know, the discord link in the description is invalid
POV: you’ve broken into the home of one Charles White.
4 plus please check out caleb finn's two videos on the oldest view he really goes in depth about everything there is to see and know and pulls a ton of info from various sources in the video and other media, it is quite a good end to the series. Can you do vita carnis?
