I love my Blues and league but Technically the toughest game in the planet is the "tour de France" , the best of the best waste themselves for 22 days doing the equivalent of an Olympic marathon each day and doing it day after day they get the very life squeezed out of their guts , some get perfusion at the end of the stage to recover faster .....then they hit the mountains
To give you some context... Imagine the best of the best NFL players were selected to play 3 games each year, and the two teams were based on where they were born/first played their first senior game of football. Then think back and imagine the first series ever played, a brawl erupts between two teammates that results in an all in brawl. Then the scene is set and each year after that gets more and more brutal and passionate. That sets the scene for every game, every year. Imagine East vs West in the NBA where the players actually wanted to win and kill each other for their state. This is state of origin. Mates one day, absolute enemies 3 times a year the next. Forget Australia vs any other country in this sport. This is the pinnacle of Rugby League and this series is unlike anything else in world sport. Not Rugby... that's Rugby Union. Please don't confuse them. You will see team mates fight and belt and niggle each other in these games, then go back to their clubs and be top class friends again. That's just what this series is, it's the very best against the even better out there and many top players have failed in this arena. It's a different game. The rules lately with CTE have dampened the fighting, so please go watch some older games from the 80's up to 2010's and some more. You'll see what I mean. The first tackle of the game, well... it was almost always an all in brawl and both teams knew it was coming. Both teams would rush in, fists flying, no holding back. Made hockey look soft, and I say that with immense respect. Seriously, go back and watch the old games and you'll know what I mean. As for this game, it was undoubtedly one of the toughest games ever. Watch the full game, watch every tackle and how hard they beat each other up for the entire game. The Blues had only won twice in their history in game 3 deciders up in Queensland. The crowd, the refs giving the home team all the calls, and then the passion of the players, it's a graveyard. You can see what it means to the players and the fans. Enjoy bro! Welcome to State Of Origin. Once you get it... there's no other event like it.
One of the most intense and high-quality games you could ever see. If you love rugby league you owe it to yourself to watch the full game to really appreciate how intense it was, or at least check out the extended highlights to see how those boys beat the crap out of each other for 80 minutes. Go the Blues, and GG from QLD too!
Easily the best game of footy I’ve watched for a long time what a battle. Props to the Queensland side for the best defensive performance I’ve seen but the blues were just too good. UP DA BLUES 💙

Amazing effort from both sides any supporter would be proud of the grit and guts each team showed!!!
Aussie here, this was the Toughest game I’ve ever seen and I’ve been following the NRL for just under 40 years. * The Brutality was on another level! Usually there is 20mins of bashing each other…..This game went for 60mins of bashing. * Amazing game. Good series to watch if you like New South Wales, 2005 and 1994 are right up there!
Watching you watch this, knowing what was going to happen, was so much fun! This is how I remember Origin being, from when I was a kid. This was a great game.
Also an Aussie and I’d say American football is just or if not tougher a sport. There’s a reason they wear helmets, the lunatics lead with their heads. Well they used to anyway (both sports with concussions so important have chamged massively). Not to mention the complete blind sides in NFL. Look up some old school NFL highlight hits….
@cmac_415 GPS data would disagree with you. The team contact sport with the greatest player deceleration ie how quickly they come to a stop, is the NRL. You give a few examples of how the NFL is harder but you have blockers on most plays so rarely is the first up solid contact on the ball carrier. The biggest hits in the NFL are on wide outs when they have their back turned and are catching the ball. Add in you have soft options like fair catches. The NRL is harder, faster and far more mentally tough than the NFL whose player have to have a 40 second break after playing for 8-10 seconds. NFL players have to be told on each and every play what to do even though most of them only have one job to do, the NRL players organise on the run. Most of the players in a 53 man NFL team are never intended to touch the ball, with many of them literally just wrestling players on the other team, yet call themselves footballers. The vast majority of NRL players, once they learn play books etc and get a feel for the game could play NFL. Most NFL players could not play in the NRL. The NFL players on offence would struggle defending, the defensive players would struggle on offence. Sure they would learn it, but that would take years.
Funny that this is a State VS State game, and these guys play together on League teams each weekend during season.. But when it comes to State of Origin, all bets are off!

That was a great game, but watching the old origins is a winner for sure, you will love the old games when they were crazy and more wild with brawls in nearly every game
The Blues selectors decided to pick a team of Badasses for once. Not necessarily athletic talent - just a badass mentality. Badass take no prisoner attitude beats talent every time 💪
You should also watch the extended because as there weren't many trys there were so many big hits and shit haha. What the other origins, they are always so intense. Worth many watches.
Dig into the old Origin games man there are heaps of epically brutal moments over the last 44 years of State Of Origin. You won’t find a rivalry anywhere with as much hatred.
Great reaction to the toughest game by far. The ref tried so hard to make sure qld won like always. NSW with a full team next year will win the series 3 nil. DCE has had his day and will retire a dog after that series. Up your arse queenslanders.
You see the rivalry but remember that these two states come together and play for Australia. Awesome that they can be enemies against each other, but mates against the rest of the world. 💙💚
To answer your sin bin question, when a player is sent to the bin off the field the team has to play a man down for the duration. So getting sin binned off the bench still carries that implication for the team. I think it was Mitch Barnett who had to leave the field so the blues were down to 12 men for the duration of Cam Murray’s sin binning.

One of if not the best games of footy ever!! I’m a BLUES supporter, and if they lost I would have been of course devastated, but still calling best game ever.
The funniest thing ok in Rugby League there are 2 centres on a team and for Bradman Best the NSW centre who normally plays for the Newcastle Knights had to get around the Queensland centre and the lock forward who was Dane Gagi and Kalyn Ponga. Dane is the Newcastle Knights other centre, and Kalyn is the Knights's fullback. That's why it's mate against mate, state against state. If you're going to have a look one. Watch one before 2013 as after 2013 they band punching in the State of Origin. Game 3 2005 that was the last origin game of the 8 immortal Andrew Johns.
They figured out how to beat Qld .Have all your own officials & penalize the shite out of them for 60 minutes to tire them out & then you can score against them when they are worn out .
The highlights don't do this game justice. The first half was one of the best halves of footy I've watched in ages.

It’s Dane, not dan

You know something about Rugby League, unlike most American youtubers.
Was waiting for this
They figured out how to beat Qld .Have all your own officials & penalize the shite out of them for 60 minutes to tire them out & then you can score against them when they are worn out .
Your right bro
Definitely watch some old games of origin bro. Back in the day where it used to turn into a Royal rumble instead
Up the fucking blues!!!! What a game! Now you understand what Origin is all about.
