    "We come, we rock, we kick it's ass and leave"
    I love these sisters so much. They have pulled me through some really hard times.
    I don't go to concerts like I did back in the day. I only go to one show per tour, and that show would be when Heart rolls through Atlanta, GA.

    Nine years later and I stumble upon my Sheroes! I love learning their songs on guitar. Great all around with Ann Wilson and her super powerful vocals just blows me away since late 70's. I rarely listen to anything other than HEART. Nancy's album with her band Roadcase Royalle is fantastic too. Thanks Ann and Nancy for the superb music you have presented to your fans.

    Ann & Nancy didn't come to my awareness, as people, until a couple of years ago. (I'm 26 years old). They have become the most inspirational people to me, such beautifully talented women.

    Their performance of Stairway to Heaven that night was the most powerful and touching cover performance of a led zeppelin song, no doubt amplified by how touched and in awe the members of Led Zeppelin were. I've never heard of Heart before that show and I love their humility and authenticity as well as obviously their awesome musicianship. peace

      I don't want to involve his personal scandal as its a good interview regardless. However, knowing his true feelings when it comes to women, this interview does kind of come off as a bit creepy in retrospect.

    They are with no exaggeration, the true queens of rock. Please, for your sake ( I promise you will not be disappointed) seek out all of their performances & songs over the years. Especially the originals from the 70's. Your life will be enriched beyond measure. Stunning, awesome women!

    I didn't realize the guy was a DJ as someone stated below, but as an interviewer - he's awesome. I understood exactly where he was coming from. It wasn't about brown-nosing, he's a fan as well. Obviously, like so many Canadian Heart fans, feels especially proud that Canada is where Heart got its first real air play to their astonishment. It was in Canada that Dreamboat Annie was getting airtime in the beginning, not in America. Perhaps a little more here in Seattle, but I for one, am grateful to the Canadian fans who made it possible for Heart to become known throughout the world.

    Ann is AMAZING and beautiful. With her voice and talent, who cares about her weight? I am curious, however, how & why she gained back all the weight she lost from the lap-band procedure. The only reason I ask is I am concerned for her health.

    • @danwilliams7571
      @danwilliams7571 8 лет назад +4

      +Rob Anthony Dire The lap band thing was many years ago. Add menopause to that equation and a woman who's had a lifelong battle with her weight - once you stretch that stomach again - you're off to the races. I've seen other videos of her since - and she has lost an incredible amount of weight and looks as good as she's looked since her younger years. Mostly because she looks more comfortable performing and she just looks like she feels good - and she still sounds amazing. Robert Plant had tears in his eyes when they performed Stairway at the Kennedy Center Honors and has had nothing but good things to say about the performance. He has also stated many times that he really doesn't like it when people cover that song - and rightly so. However, they were so caught up in Ann's performance - the mutual admiration showed in their faces. You can't hide those tears. I understand that they had dinner together following the program and Robert Plant told Ann that he like the performance.

    Guns and Roses were massive because they had their own sound and songs that weren't just 4 minute formula tunes to get played on the radio. Grunge came out and kids who are not musicians went for it big time because they liked the whole slacker ethos..plus Cobain was the coolest guy on the planet. I liked Soundgarden and Alice in Chains but I never saw the big deal with Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Music is a disposal commodity these days people get bored very quickly so bands have a short shelf life.

    I think you have misunderstood me. Bon Jovi were just a loud pop band like Nickleback today - I wouldn't watch them if they were in my back yard. The problem with the plethora of hair metal bands in the eighties was that they all sounded the same until the singer came in, even then it was hard to distinguish sometimes. I am not disputing that mostly they were fine musicians, just that there was this formulaic approach to songwriting and a reluctance to take any chances that made it stale.

  • @Veaseify
    @Veaseify 11 лет назад

    I'm a huge classic rock fan, don't get me wrong but for every Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple there was a Black Oak Arkansas or Duke Jupiter. Or Starship for gods sake. Loverboy, Warrant, Helix, Cinderella, Poison, Ratt, and Nightranger..who could tell the difference? People say grunge killed rock but it was the interchangeable hair metal bands with their appalling power ballads that turned real rock fans off. Sadly that meant that a great band like Cry of Love had no chance in the early nineties.

  • @Veaseify
    @Veaseify 11 лет назад

    To give you an idea of my age the last time I read a music magazine was about 1978. I have no idea why people would take the opinion of a rock 'journalist' and not listen to something themselves to make their own minds up. I was playing in a kind of poor mans Black Sabbath from around 1976-82 - we weren't very good but my whole life revolved around playng, listening to and discussing rock music but when I couldn't tell if a song was by WASP or Stryper until the singer came in I lost interest.

    Hey ladies why do men who wear dirty clothes, without shaving looked at as rock gods If you didn't know who they are you might hand them a couple of bucks thinking they are homeless. Male entertainers make more money then women yet, it is socially acceptable for them to perform looking like slobs,it's disgusting.Why do women have to spend all their money on expensive clothes.Ladies stop wasting your money we want to hear your voice.Rock on sistas Wilson!

  • @Veaseify
    @Veaseify 11 лет назад

    We have kind of skirted around the issues here, what exactly is your point? Hearts 70's albums were excellent, the stuff from the eighties sounded just like every other poodle rock band, except with a great female singer... What kind of music do you actually like?

  • @Veaseify
    @Veaseify 11 лет назад

    You are just looking at 'pop' music, there are a ton of great bands and musicians that don't get played on radio but are extremely successful touring bands. There was just as much crap music in the 70's and 80's it was just a different kind of crap.

  • @Veaseify
    @Veaseify 11 лет назад

    If your definition of crap is Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder then we are using different benchmarks. they didn't get criticized because they were awesome musicians and songwriters. My idea of crap was the awful manufactured pop like Captain and Tennile, Boney M, Barry Manilow, David Cassidy and all of the disco rubbish Who would you describe as a good band that never gets any exposure? I would have said Clutch but their last album did really well..
