You should've seen "Baker" as far teammates are concerned. Starting @ "Lake Travis High School",they won the state title. He was only getting started & went off to "Texas Tech" in 2013. Transferred! over to "Sooner Nation" in Norman,Ok. Sat out a year due to transfer rules. While there he broke records & then continued to set NCAA records,plus 3 "Big 12" conference titles. Made the college "playoffs",come within 1 play of playing for a national championship. He's a bonafide 1-of-a-kind champion........

The real fact is that he only had two points that were close to turnovers. Several other QB's leave the field with many close calls and one or two IT's.

As a Cleveland Browns fan for 40-something years, I'm super excited about this team, this year. Though I was happy to have Tyrod Taylor as our starter and giving Baker Mayfield some time to thoroughly learn the playbook, I'm just as excited and maybe even more with Baker possibly starting for the rest of this year and hopefully will be the starter for the rest of his career in Cleveland!

@Kevin Prima Their defense had 8 turnovers on the Steelers and Saints coming into this game...And they added 3 more to that, making 11 turnovers in 3 games. Their defense held Drew Brees to 250 yards in New Orleans. If anything, their offense needed to get sparked, and they may have just found it

He comes from a great family, he has an older brother he's very close to who doesn't let his head get too big, and I think that serves Baker very well. The Cleveland Browns finally got a quarterback, who believes in his ability to play the the position.
Not just that, he believes in his team. Manziel (sp?) believed in his abilities, but thought he was the only one on the field. Mayfield elevates those around him by believing in them.
Just the way Bake carries himself is amazing! I'm an OU fan so I've been seeing this for years but it still amazes me that he continues it as well as he does.
Then one day LeBaker makes a decision to play for the Miami Dolphins, where he wins a couple Super Bowls. Back to Cleveland for their one and only Super Bowl win, then off to LA to fade off into old age.

Baker Mayfield is as unique an athlete as I've seen in my 65years. He has an indomitable will coupled to a heart that is as competitive as there is. I Watched him play @TexTech as a walk on then get put aside for someone who fit all the requirements physically but in reality couldn't hold Bakers jockstrap. Then watched as he walked on @ Oklahoma and played on the tune up team 1st year. Then for 3 years he LIT IT UP like nothing I've EVER seen before. Manziel was cocky but he was also ARROGANT. Baker, while cocky, is also EXTREMELY confident of his God given talent and ALWAYS SHARES THE SPOTLIGHT. He simply makes those around him play better by his sheer dynamic personal presence. He is an Alphas Alpha yet he does it in such a way that makes other Alphas appreciate him. He's got a GREAT Football mind, lightning quick release, he's elusive, and can put the ball 60+ yards down field with laser like accuracy. He can put a soft light touch on the ball or send it like it was shot out of a cannon. We LOVE him at Oklahoma & always will, it will be quite a while before we see his like again and we have a tendency to recruit GREAT QB's here so that's saying alot. Congratulations Browns fans everywhere, you've got 1 in a million there....... oh, and you're welcome, We're truly happy that Cleveland is his home now.

I like baker more and more after every interview he does, seems very humble and cares about teammates.
Not a Browns fan in the least but I must say good for them they deserved it. No one should have to go that long without experiencing a win once. Baker came in halfway through the game without practicing and without notice and he expected to be sitting on the bench all night. I know he wasn't amazing or anything, and he's not going to immediately be some elite QB once he's the starter next week and for the rest of the season, but I have to admit that's pretty impressive to me for a rookie. Just imagine what this guy can do once he actually gets reps with the starters and gets some experience under his belt. I'm not jumping on any Browns or Mayfield bandwagons or anything, in fact I don't even watch any NCAA and only saw Mayfield at Oklahoma in some highlights basically (let's face it there are tons of amazing college QBs that put up amazing numbers in college and most of them inevitably end up being huge busts in the end) and I was never a huge believer in him coming out and was genuinely shocked when Cleveland took him number 1 overall, but I'm genuinely excited and optimistic for the Browns and their fan base moving forward with Baker. He won me over with his personality and wit on the couple talk shows I've seen him on, and now he's officially won me over as a potential franchise QB in the making. Grats Cleveland! You guys earned it and I hope you make some noise this year in the AFC North and prove a lot of haters wrong!

Well, it's honestly like Kanoa said. When your team goes 600+ days without a victory, you damn right you're gonna celebrate the end of that drought. And for a fanbase as rabidly loyal as Cleveland sports fans, they deserve to celebrate.
The thing that strikes me the most, as we, the fans, embark for the 2019 season...is how Baker is so genuine and honest here, on this night, where he changed everything. This night, the Browns pulled a 180. And this young man wouldn't say anything different today, than he did that night....and that's why this city loves him.
