I have to say, very impressed with Baker Mayfield. He is saying all the right things. He's mature. Let's see how he performs. I think he has a great chance to be great if his physical skills translate. I don't think all the off the field stuff will make any difference. Good luck to a well spoken young man.

I think Cris Carter made this point leading up to the draft. He brought up Brett Favre and Peyton Manning, and the effect they had in changing the culture of losing franchises. Cris said that somewhere out there is the QB who will do the same for the Browns, and that QB will have a statue in front of the stadium someday.

I not a Browns fan but he was my fav QB in the Draft and after seeing this makes me like him a lot more than I already did, he competitive and has a humble side. Johnny was not humble when he 1st came in and his recklessness was mistaken as competitiveness which was not the same as this guy has. I hope the Browns don't ruin this guy
Baker isn’t a spoiled prima doña and he isn’t gonna waste his talent like manziel did. Seeing him playing in the nfl makes me confident, he’s playing well and with fire. He’s part of the reason that the browns are now a decent team, and with some more rebuilding he could be leading a playoff team in a couple seasons. The sky’s the limit for him, and though I’m not a Cleveland fan, I’m definitely a baker fan and I’ll be rooting for him

He's quickly becoming one of my favorites from this draft. Gets more impressive by the interview. No idea how his career will end up. FB is a tough sport. That relys on fit as well as talent. But I like what I'm hearing from this young man. Best of luck Baker. I'll tell you one thing I like his firey persona & competitive nature. He was fun to watch on Sat lets see if it translates to Sun.

1st of all, as a Browns fan I am 100% in on Baker Mayfield from this interview alone. 2nd of all. I wish I knew how awesome Nate Burleson was when he signed with the Cleveland Browns. He would have been a fan favorite.

I grew up with baker my older brother and I played high school football with him a and I’ll tell u right now he is way different than Johnny. And trust me because I met Johnny because he went to Kirville tivy, which my school Lake Travis played against every year back when I went to school there. I talked to a former nfl director of college scouting who was responsible for drafting a droty and scouted guys like AP and Sean Taylor and he said that Baker was undoubtedly the best qb in this draft and he would take him because “he’s a winner and knows how to lead men”
He's matured tremendously just by going to the Pro Level. 33 Million for a 23 year old isn't too bad either.

I one hundred percent understand why the Browns picked him number one now. There's something about this guy, his confidence or his demeanor, that just makes you buy into and believe in everything he says. And he's right, there's a big difference between stupid mistakes and one's actual character.

It's great to come back to rhis right before super bowl Sunday and look at all the comments. Most are on point which is surprising since it's the browns. I liked baker and darnold (and rosen, ugh, bad pick) and so far it looks on point. I'm by no means a browns fan, but baker just makes me like the browns. Ever since I saw that video with cowherd when it first came out I knew he was destined for greatness. The Browns future is so bright. Great qb, superstar running back (chubb is a freak, his broken tackle and yards after contact numbers are staggering), Landry helps too, solid line, defense is improving. 1 more good draft and a couple of signings and they're a playoff team easily.

Seeing all the comments during the season he had the horrible head coach in Freddie Kitchens is so hilarious. The guy turned it around showed why he was the #1 pick and led the Browns to their first playoff game since 2002 and first playoff win since 1995.

I don't know how he'll do in the NFL but I like this guy. Like Tebow, he is a football player that plays QB. He actually will lift weights and workout like the rest of the players unlike a lot of the weak, noodle arm QBs so popular nowadays.

I feel like Baker was way more humble last year. Just the way he answers questions and his body language.
This guy knows exactly what he's doing and how to get in and out of situations and to also seem like a situation is what it isn't and vice versa. All he has to do is work hard, improve, and enable the Browns to win. There is no doubt, he enjoys the high life and he loves the spot-light so Cleveland needs a shine and he appears to be it.
