Can't stress how much I appreciate the dev's and all their hard work. This game blows every triple A company out of the water in terms of development and just the guys behind the project, and not just in racing games, games in general, so thank you. all of you!
yeah, this will breathe new life into series with low participation and do not go official often enough for people with busy schedules to compete. I am actually more pumped for this than any patch I can remember.
That's pretty sweet, it's just like time trial on the F1 video games series where you try to beat friends and rivals for the fastest time. It's going to be cool to see!
I was thinking about that. I guess the main thing is that it's just a single lap that's timed, whereas in the Time Trial you have to string together a number of clean laps if I remember correctly? (I haven't played for a while). So it's good for people who aren't so much into racing and just want to go for pure speed without worrying about safety rating and without having to get licences for higher classed cars. I think it might suit novices like me because I enjoy the driving but I found racing too stressful because I'm slow and was always worried about ruining someone else's race with a mistake.
That's just not true... People have gotten banned for cheating, but it's not hacking. lmao It's a simple program edit in sim can change a lot. Simple forum search of some people who have cheated just to prove it's possible!
I like everything except the part about adding lap times from different tracks together...that is pointless, I'd rather have each track separately ranked, because in this way you're forced to drive on several tracks just to be ranked at all. If I'm very fast on one track but hate the other, I'll be forced to drive the track I hate just to get my other lap time from the track I love ranked.
It looks like you can rank it by both per track and by cumulative time. Its a good way to see who are consistently fast and who just have one or two tracks they are good at.
Also, if you're 20% faster than some other guy at Lime Rock Park but 10% slower at the Nordschleife your total time, you're gonna lose out at the end when they add both fastest times up.
1forgiven2, is there even a series that run at both Nords and Lime Rock? Remember this is based on the series the cars are featured in. I get your point but it's a bad example... The fact is, the best drivers are the ones that can pull a competitive time anywhere not just at one or two tracks... Also, at the end of the day, it's just a bit of fun!
Perfect for those of us who can't find the time to commit to racing. Love it.
Neat. Also, hooray for Interface overhaul!

Now all we need is the World Time Attack circuit (Sydney Motorsport Park) :)
Love the skippy with the whelen modified logo
Wow! Some of the most exciting iRacing news I've seen in a while!
Day night transition please.
that looks like a huge step forward. Kudos to you guys!
How is this different from the existing Time Trial?

That's actually really cool!
Really like the look of the new UI. Excited for this to drop. Hopefully we don't have to wait for too long
will the tires wear and fuel run out? or will it just be constant?
Long beach?
Awesome addition! Also like the no effect of irating and safety rating
how many races need to be completed to count?
That Sounds awesomerino!
when?
Will it be fixed setups?
Just in time for my new OSW wheel.
Sounds fun
great idea!
It works just online or not?
I hope that the cars are all going to be fixed setups in order to make it fair for everyone. Not everyone is able to setup a car.
NEW UI FINALLY
Nice!
Cool stuff guys.
Can't wait to try the new .exe ;)
how we suppose to time atack when we cant put heat on tyres...
Hooray for announcing this stuff literally the day after my subscription expired. Oh well.
Sweet!
Wish I could afford it.

The new UI looks like a Gran Turismo game. That's cool because I'm fan of Gran Turismo.

derbigpr500 I like the idea I might be slower on some tracks, and faster on other I'm buzzing to try it. It'll only make me faster being judged on all
It should be fixed setups
How original
