I think that this is a great sign unironically. I felt like the graphics and stability could use a lot of work
it's a worrying indication about their time management, though. yes, they're taking feedback, but you'd think they would have accommodated for that in planning earlier.

@@ratdiploma Not really. Software development almost always takes longer than you expect it to, it's practically programming law. It's incredibly difficult to estimate when you'll actually finish something as massive or intricate as a game. In most of the gaming industry, game studios get around this by forcing their employees to spend tons of unpaid overtime pushing out a somewhat unfinished product by the release date. So the fact that they're willing to postpone the release date multiple times to me seems like maybe they just treat their employees fairly.
I think the issue here is that somebody got too excited, so they announced the game too soon. Now the company is feeling rushed to create something that’s been nitpicked at since said announcement.
I agree 100 percent. And them taking the time to work on the game also shows they don't want to put out a buggy broken game.

That is what early access is for dev release a game that is very buggy and Dont have complete content. So many sim 4 fan have no understanding of what early access is all about. 😢
Honestly to me it doesn't matter if they delay that game 10 times as long as it is at least just as good as sims 2 / sims 3 was. Like what do we loose? Nothing.
I don't agree it needs to be far better graphics wise and gameplay wise as the gaming world has developed heck of alot since those games so giving us a game comparible to games released 15 years ago would be shoddy considering how much technology has advanced since those games.
@@SN-ig2ml I think they meant vibes-wise. Sims 2 and 3 is compared to Sims 4 because the general stuff it had was better, fun, and less drab. Iirc, ppl expected Sims 4 to be Sims 3 but with more advanced tech.
The only reason I don't go back to Sims 3 like others do is because current tech has spoiled me, yeah, graphics and gameplay wise, like you said. But people want that type of vibe back.

I wish game developers would overshoot their release dates instead of under… then, if the game is ready before hand, surprise us with the release.
I could be talking crazy…it just makes more sense to give us a timeframe way out so it’s already expected to take a while…
then, they have way more time than actually needed to finish the final touches…
& either it’ll come out on time as stated, or come out earlier giving us a boost of dopamine & even more admiration for the project as we discover little to no bugs, due to the extra time they had to work on it…
The only thing thats annoying about early access being pushed back is they always push it back a couple weeks RIGHT before early access. They get people all hyped up & then its like great early access was just a FEW weeks away & once again its pushed back.
I wish AAA game companies were more realistic about announcing releases for new games and than retracting it. Better they had never announced a date at all. At least Paradox learned from City Skylines II (maybe lol).

I was originally very excited for this game, but the character graphics and animations are just terrible, and despite tons of feedback, all they've done is tweak the faces. They don't seem to have any clue. They are asking people to give them feedback about what to change, but I mean can't you see it yourself?
What this game needs is a great art director and a major character graphics and animation overhaul. Without that my interest is minimal. I don't want to play with ugly, awkward people no matter how great the gameplay and customization options.

At first, I was excited about LBY because it is another competitor to Sims, but now that isn't enough. I want the characters and gameplay to actually look good. Paralives and Inzoi are winning for me so far.
LBY is so forgettable that when someone talks about it, I think it's Paralives ngl. I get them mixed up because I just can't remember anything abt it.

I’m excited for life by you but I admit I’m even more excited for Inzoi. The game looks so beautiful like you won’t even need cc 😍definitely disappointed in life by you being pushed back again. I was looking forward to playing.
Im scared ive played alot of korean based games and theres usually something they do monetary wise that soils the whole thing im excited too just worried that theres gonna be something they havent shown yet thats gonna spoil it

This seems like an unpopular opinion, but this Trend they have of delaying things because they aren’t ready is just telling me this is going to be just as bad as the sims. Once the game is live, they’re going to have to do updates to address bugs and such, and if they can’t even get a proper timeframe of the game BEFORE launch, then after launch they’ll either be delaying patched for game breaking bugs, or releasing incomplete patches because they can’t push them back leaving the game unplayable, Which is EXACTLY what the problem is with TS4. Like we were all excited to have a new life sim game that wasn’t broken that we could enjoy and would also push the sims team to do better, and so far this isn’t doing that in the slightest.
And how the hell did you get to that conclusion? It doesn't make sense.
The fact they are delaying shows me that this isn't just a money maker for them, and they are passionate about it.
You all say you want a good game, but you aren't willing to wait for it. JFC.

I said it’s going to be just as buggy. I came the that conclusion based off past experience of playing games who announce a release and then delay ridiculously. Cyberpunk 2077, saints row, sims3, sims4, my time at Portia, the list goes on. I already paid my 40 dollars, and I have a right to complain when the items I was promised have been pushed back time and time agian. Reading comprehension is clearly a skill you lack, so I’ll end with this, a company cannot announce a game, make promises, fail to keep said promises, and then expect people who have ALREADY PAID to be happy with it. Argue with the wall.

@TheDawnofVanlife what does it matter whom it was? And how do you know that for sure? Are you at the office? Did you see the conversation take place? No! This is speculation. Maybe the CEO decided to take the heat this time. Maybe Rod wasn't in the office to deliver the bad news this time. Or maybe you're right. Who knows? The point is the decision was made and I am sure it was made for a good reason and it wasn't just to mess with customers. Companies like money, after all.

At this point games studios should just say "release date tbd" and only give a date if the game has been successfully given beta testing. It would reduce a lot of these constant notices of date churn and disappointment before the game even happens.

I knew it after seeing tha Nini video where everyone complained about the weird arms and shoulders lol. LBY looks like it's 15+ years old already... it's not a good sign.

From my game dev exp, i'll say that something might have not worked as expected during their testing, which might have opened up a can of coding worms. That's why a delay might have been required. Hey! at least they didnt set a date that places pressure on them.
it sucks but its a good thing that theyre listening to feedback- we cant tell them to fix the graphics and then be mad they have to delay to fix the graphics.
I think it's the third time. But at least they don't take pre-orders anymore. Also they are very transparent about their progress so I'm not really worried.
they need to make stores looks more full when you work on them..have objects honestly look like they are being enteracted with (most look like random hand placements, like getting cash out of a cash register you see nothing other than their hands moving..its weird) and graphics all around, it looks like a more realistic sims 3 they need to update it to look better all around.
Guys y’all gotta relax. Games being delayed is never a bad thing. Especially nowadays when studios are way more likely to release a game as is, and let ppl essentially pay to be their beta testers. They need to take their time and everyone waiting for the game needs to chill and be HAPPY they actually give a damn abt the quality of the game at launch. There’s no mistrust to be had. When it launches it’ll either be good or it won’t. Just be patient.

The animations need A LOT of work, preferably a full overhaul.
I can look past the "artstyle" but the way they move genuinely makes me uncomfortable, it's so zombie like.

I literally keep saying over and over again - DON'T overhype a game like this. Just wait and see what happens. I have no reason to trust this at all. It looks promising but also almost looks too good to be true. Until something more comes out I am not investing any amount of emotional time to it.
It's a disappointment, but I'll wait for a working product then rushing to release (cough...EA...cough.)
i'm looking forward to nivalis and paralives. nivalis seems more like a farming sim even tho it's listed as a life sim but nivalis' animations are top notch.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing. Maybe it's just me but I don't want another broken game. They can delay as long as they want. I've already waited 10 years for a decent life sim, I have time.

I started this lifesim wave super excited for only LBY, but since the second delay earlier this year I have definitely dropped LBY and moved on to Inzoi as they just seem to have their ish together and the game looks UNREAL (pun intended)

Yeah me too. I feel like Paralives and Inozi are extremes for people. People don’t like Inzoi because they think it looks too realistic. On the other hand, people don’t like Paralives because they think it looks too artificial. I am equally excited for both. I think people are worried about their computers being able to handle Inzoi, but also how the non-Korean worlds will look.
I was more surprised when I saw early access was in June, I was like what!!! So yh I saw this coming, I was like aint no way yet. I'm very happy to wait and I'm not worried as long as they're serious and communicating. Its not ready its not ready 🤷🏽♀️ but to be fair I rarely play games as soon as release, I think Planet Zoo was the only one, and no regrets. But the others I always wait at least a year.
I still have trust for it. And its in my top 3, Paralives and life by you is fighting at the top, because I like the look of one and the gameplay of the other, Inzoi is number 3 right now.
EA is in the bin why people are even bothering to be excited by Rene means they've learnt nothing and are glutton for punishment, the fact that some still call it sims 5 when they came out years ago saying it wasnt proves that 🤷🏽♀️
I want a game that works and delivers what it promises right from release. I'm fed up with a buggy mess with lots of missing features that the Sims 4 has been. Delays mean more work on the game and less chance of issues and a broken game

Good that they're taking time to work on the game to have it be enjoyable and not a broken buggy mess. I heard there are people who's trash talking the game because of how the character models, and the graphics look. I'm not going to lie. The character models def need to be worked on, especially the female models.
Tbh when a game is postponed so many times, it's not a good sign. I've already lost my interest.

They’re doing their best to make sure the game is READY to be played, unlike *someone* who likes to release game-breaking bugs. So have some patience, we waited this long we can wait just a little longer 😊

I honestly just wish they would stop waiting until 2 weeks before the early access to say something. A month or 2 okay but 2 weeks is too close.
I'm still excited to play this game when it is released. I prefer this to InZoi, I know that InZOi's graphics are high quality but I don't like their graphics much. Life By You character graphics and movement do need some improvements but I really like the modding concept of the game and being able to completely customise it the way I want. I think the delay is a positive thing and I will continue waiting eagerly for its release, like I'm also eagerly waiting for Paralives release. Project Rene is at the bottom of the list for me, because for one thing, I'm not so interested in a world that revolves only around apartment life. :)

Not really.
I'm definitely WAY more excited for LBY than any other new life sim game. And actually, them delaying release (again) makes me trust in them more. Above all else, I want a well-rounded, in depth experience with as few bugs and glitches as possible, I can wait. Plus it shows they aren't just standing there palm out waiting for your money. If they're willing to let their reputation possibly take a hit over collecting some quick cash by taking advantage of consumers (ahem, we all know who I'm referring to), then I'm all in!
I see some comments in any LBY video update which has similarity:
their concern about the character design, and the animation / mechanics
and I expected this will happen, and yes it's happen. but I am glad. taking some feedbacks from youtube commenters in every video update that they posted there on their channel, seems need a time to make it become true, I mean not in such a rush. just take your time

Not surprised. It looked worse than a cheap mobile game. The graphics are terrible and the animations are lackluster or jarring. Say what you will about sims 4 but the animations are much smoother and there are cc animation creators who also make smooth animations too. Someone wanted to capitalize on the frustrations of a lot of sims players and dug themselves into a ditch with overpromising and overestimating the work that goes into creating a decent game. This game wasn’t on my list anyways. I think it and the ghost known as project Rene had a lot of ambition but it’s falling off the tracks still.
I was so excited to get this when it was out in early access! I guess it's a good thing they're waiting in order to polish it more, but this is the third time. It's not the only game that has been delayed. Why don't they just wait to fully release it?

I’ve been looking forward to this for over a year now. So disappointed that it keeps getting delayed multiple times. I get so excited for the release just to be let down. So much so I am losing interest.
I'm sick of all these studios releasing unfinished games so the public can be their playtesters. Case in point... Dreamlight Valley. A year and a half after "Early Access" it's a dumpster fire. There is no sign of any quality of life improvements which it desperately needs but they push out premium content instead as they need the funds to survive (or the bosses do). I miss the old days of when a game came out it and it was the best that it could be and had been playtested by a group of players who they took the feedback in a constructive way and made the changes PRIOR to release. The industry STANDARD now of releasing half assed games is deplorable. Take all the time you need, LBY... PLEASE. (And please fix the abhorrent humans... gawd they are wonky and ugly.)
Read some of the comments, the wobblies some of the people here are throwing just because *gasp* they have to wait, is why gaming developers just push shit out and expect paying customers to polish it for them.
I don't want to be mean but the animations are still blocky and the characters don't look very nice. If they went down the route of Inzoi i would be more excited with personality and fun animations. All this tech these days and they make characters like this. Even Baldurs Gate Character creator is stunning.
I'm really disappointed because my birthday is in June and I planned to get LBY for it HOWEVER I am also happy by the delay because I want them to take their time and get it right. I want a game that works/isn't crap by which ever standard is expected for the type of release it will be (either for an Early Access game or Full Release). They do need to not give a date ever again for release until it's 100% guaranteed to come out, it upsets people who have their hopes on a new game (most especially Life simulation games since people want a replacement for that game by this point). My interest in the game hasn't gone down but my hopefulness in it coming out has taken a bit of a nose dive because multiple delays isn't usually a good sign, it could just be that they were overreaching with their release dates and really should have just kept that under wraps longer but............we don't really know and that makes me worried.

Take as much time as they need to make it the best, I could care less about the delay (they shouldn't keep promising dates or giving such a defined deadline if they're not ready) and I'm so frustrated that people keep pushing for rushed products and wonder why its broken or mediocre

I would rather wait for this game. So far I like this game better than the others. I Think this game Devs are smart and working hard to give the best game they can.
Who cares. If someone is that upset and lose trust thats on them lol. Would rather them keep pushing the date back until theyre confident of what theyre putting out. And you know what other game kept getting delayed? Zelda breath of the wild. And that game was great. Who cares about mistrust. It has nothing to do about trust. Maybe disappointment. But trust? I trust them more for finding thr game unready and delaying. No lack of trust. Theyd lose trust if they hyped up this game and released it too soon and it being crap. That would lose trust. I'll be honest, i am starting to get very tired of Early Access. I feel like devs are starting to hide behind it way too much.
Tbh I'm not excited for this game at all. I'm not a realistic , open world type or game player. And the quirkiness and the fun of the sims is what I love the most. They have their own language, art, aesthetic and that's what I look for in a game I decide to relax with. Very excited for para lives tho!
I don't care, Life By You is the best that I am waiting for. I could care LESS about The Sims 5 or Renee or whatever. I don't think I will be playing Renee anyway and will stay with Sims 4. I respect their decision but yes it is disappointing. I'm not that excited about Para Lives. The style of Para Lives is just ok for me. But I am VERY excited about Enzoi. I will keep holding fast for Life By You. I hope they can get it together.
I'm not excited for any of the upcoming games. They all have something i don't like about them, they all don't have enough for me to be wooing over them. LBY was the game i would say i was excited for months ago, but now it's just looking like a plain unattractive mess, i'm not bummed that they keep delaying it, i actually welcome that because it gives a game more time to be perfect, the game itself is just a hot mess to me. Ideally id love for Inzoi to have everything that LBY says they're offering, like things being customizable and whatnot, the promise of one day having create a world, also i don't like how they shy away from people being able to truly make all kinds of characters, it feels like it will be too damn hard to make a funny, goofy looking, unattractive, or average looking character in that game.... I'm a 35 year old woman, I've been well pass the stage of "everyone should be young and pretty". i just want to make people, not only Instagram models.... Where's the fat, non perfect skin, different body shapes? I'm not preaching about diversity, i just want the option to make any and everyone that comes to mind, i get bored when everyone in my game's too perfect all the time.
I never cared for Paralives, mainly the art style and the team that worked on it looks sus. And why would i care for project Renee at all? Lol fuck EA and the people who're currently working on the sims under them....
All Paralives has is pretty graphics. I expect their gameplay to be bare-bones.
