It’s strong, it’s powerful, and it exudes a certain smoldering masculinity-oud is one of the most expensive raw-scent ingredients in the world. So robust is its fragrance that it has the ability to both seduce or repel depending on the nose. But luxury houses like Tom Ford as well as high-end fragrance brands like Acqua di Parma, By Kilian, and Creed have tapped into the woody ingredient sourced from the tropical agar tree in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and India. The intense fragrance is known to vary from a potent warm and woody smell to a smoky and sweet aroma, depending on where it has been sourced. Louis Vuitton is the latest luxury house to tap into oud with its new Ombre Nomade fragrance, which was sourced over a period of months from one of the best oud assam plantations in Bangladesh. The family-run business has been cultivating its agar wood trees for hundreds of years.
This particular oud assam boasts strong leathery, spicy, and woody accents-with hints of raspberry and a drop of rose and roast geranium to underscore the fragrance. The scent was created by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, who has sniffed out the best fragrances in the business for everyone from Tom Ford and Kilian Hennessy to Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Saint Laurent. For the last seven years, Cavallier-Belletrud has been the master perfumer for Louis Vuitton. He most recently created a collection of men’s fragrances created in Les Fonatines Parfumées-Louis Vuitton’s fragrance workshop in Grasse, France.
His latest Ombre Nomade eau de parfum fragrance comes in a dark bottle, reminiscent of the fragrance, that was designed by Mark Newson. It’s available in a 6.8 fluid-ounce bottle ($515) with an in-store refill of 200 mL ($400), a 3.4 fluid-ounce bottle ($330) with an in-store 100 mL refill ($200), and a 4 x 0.25 fluid-ounce travel spray ($335) with 4 x 0.25 refills ($185) starting this month. A sleek leather travel case for the 100 mL ($460) or 200 mL ($550) bottles, which can be customized with the client’s initials, is also available for purchase separately.

Yea I feel in love with oud off a a very cheap frag I brought and didn’t know what I was getting. That $8 frag smell like a million $’s. Then I was gifted this and in the dry down I’m smelling the oud and falling in love wit it. This is on point.

I tried this in the LV store Leeds and it’s by far surpassed my go-to Paco Rabbane Invictus. I tried the others but they were nowhere near as bomb as this one! I copped a bottle and can’t wait to use it 💥💨

Hello Kevin. Great video. Always enjoying your videos. I am a big fan of oud fragrances. Had my eye about this Ombre Nomade. I was wandering what about Xerjoff's Alexandria II or the Initio's Oud for Greatness and Layton Exclusif. I own Alexandria II, Tom Ford's Oud Wood and also like Amouage's Jubilation XXV. I think those are the best oud fragrances. What would you recommend me as signature worthy from all those fragrances I mentioned? Thank you Kevin.

Think middle eastern men.
Oud and rose masterfully blended.
But it's not for everyone.
Maybe buy a decant first, or go to your local LV store and try it before buying a full bottle.

@@adhx7506 Not sweater but the rose tends to be softer than ombre nomad, which also contains rose, but it's stronger and the old more prominent, which gives it its masculinity.
If you do not like rose scents for men, this might not be for you.

Test Nouveau Monde which to me is the best and quit close to Ombré Nomade in style - both are very long lasting and unique
Just smelt this. Always found perfumes with rose or raspberry and in this case both! Too feminine. But! This is spot on I’d buy a bottle. Would love to get your thoughts of MR Harrod by Penhaligon which has raspberry in. Proper classy gentlemen scent which has a playful side.

New York Oud is very feminin. I have a bottle. Impossible to sell it. I tested it at Harrods and I liked it. Bought a bottle about 7 months later.

Ombre nomade is my all time top 2. I get a very present raspberry opening with a very sharp like safran dry down. I love it so much. It has a soul and tells you a story. :)

I have a sample of this and I cant help but notice that ombre nomade smells different on different days. One day its really strong and sour and the next day the rose note is amazingly sweet. Anyone else experience this?

Nouveau Monde. I tested this one last week. Nouveau Monde is more playful and it is lighter fragrance compared to Ombre Nomade, you can smell oud, the leather is more dominant than the oud. In Nouveau Monde you can also smell a cacao note, very lightly.
Ombre Nomade is stronger and more about the oud than the leather. There is a leather note present.
Ombre Nomade is more business and formal while Nouveau Monde smells more casual.
I never knew Louis Vuitton made fragrances they are pricey I need to try this.

On my skin, this smells like Tom Ford Noir de Noir.
The oud version is much more masculine than the rose version.

Les Sables Roses VS Ombre Nomade??? Which one smells better?
Les Sables Roses isn’t as musky/oudy. I’ll say it’s more for women whereas Ombré Nomade is very dark and musky. More suited to men in my opinion.
Both scents are beautiful however, very strong, rich and long lasting
