    That sound for Back in Black was EPIC! So tight and just plain mean, and you can even hear the strings jangle.I could watch a band all night, the louder the better, if the rhythm guitarist had a sound like that. Thanks Andy, you are the best!

    What a great and thoughtful video! It’s always nice to see the scales tipped away from shredding lead playing to something a bit more....realistic.

    Great video!! I built a career around being a rhythm player and I was feeling my way around in the dark to find the right tone for years. I hope videos like this help more budding rhythm players out and maybe save them some time and money. I'm still not done learning, and got a lot from this. Thank you!

    How about an episode on dual guitar combination and sounds, to illustrate what you say ? How to achieve good tonal separation between two guitars and a bass for instance !

    The OCD just Kills Me - every time I hear it. I am so glad I got one ( 1.7 version ) . Just a Special Pedal. Fulltone hit-it-out-of-the-park with The OCD. Andy that Tone into the Fromel EQ was Killer. Phenomenal Rhythm Tone.

      Try One Out ( if you can ). I Love it for Both = lead & rhythm. The Range on this pedal is incredible. It can go from a Clean Boost to AC/DC = Hells Bells ( honestly ). Just a Great Sounding Overdrive / Distortion Pedal.

      Its No Bother. We are all here to Learn & Help each other. ( for me ) I run Vintage Strat.Guitar, Fulltone Wah, Drybell Vibe, OCD, ( into ) Thorpy Muff, Free the Tone Tri Chorus, Mooer Flanger, Boss DD-500, Strymon Big Sky, Diamond Tremolo, Fender Princeton Reverb 65 Blackface Reissue Amp. Try the Analogman Bad Bob if you want to Boost in front of OCD or a Tube Screamer Mini ???

      It features a tuner and... that's it actually.

    • @CesarAnthony001
      @CesarAnthony001 6 лет назад

      I probably use more pedals than I can reasonably need for a traditional bass role, but what I do use regularly is a distorsion or fuzz, a chorus pedal (they go together awesomely and it makes up my regular distorted tone) an EQ pedal, and tuner. Now what I need is a compressor, and I will most likely change my EQ pedal for a DI with preamp, like the Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra, which would also replace my OD pedal. That's what I would consider necessary for my personal needs, but I also like to fuck around and use a delay and also a filter, namely the EHX Blurst. Am also thinking of getting an Octave pedal.

    • @zacharywhitney6957
      @zacharywhitney6957 6 лет назад +1

      Tuner, compressor, eq, some type of gain pedal, and maybe an octave. Oh and a di, but does that count as a pedal?

    Nice to see a rhythm guitar pedal demo. All these demos are all about blues licks and boosting solos but the truth is that when it comes to performing, most guitarists will mostly just be strumming chords. I'd like to see that pedal show do a rhythm guitar episode too.

  • @dansands6363

    I think personally the perfect board is a ProCo Rat - It has a wide spectrum of gain (country-metal) and the tone knob is magic, overall a great flavor for the basis of your tone, next a great versatile fuzz - For me it is the op amp big Muff because it covers a variety of tones (from 60s psych to doom and shoegaze), next a great rich delay my take is any tape emulation, i love space echo simulators. You’re all set for everything with those three pedals but if you want a good price switch knife pedals i like the zoom MS-70CDR, it’s honestly a shoegazer’s wet dream.

    As far as what I would like to see next? IDK if you did a few more or not, but for awhile there you were doing episodes on vintage gear/pedals. I wouldn't mind a few of those sprinkled in from time to time .My vote goes to an Ampeg Scrambler if you ever go that route again.

    So I have about $500 USD to spend on a from scratch pedal board and I just wanted some help on where to start looking as far as the basics and the 'must haves'. I currently play through a Fender Hotrod deluxe if that helps any decisions. Also play mostly alternative music. I've never built a board before and anything helps!

    • @Merlincat007
      @Merlincat007 6 лет назад

      I'd highly recommend trying out the Zoom Multistomp series, particularly the MS-70CDR (stereo ins and outs, more reverbs, etc but no drives or amp models) or the MS-50G (mono in, stereo out with drives and amp models). They both have some excellent reverbs and delays that match pretty much anything out there, plus a million other effects, and they're each under $100 used.
      That's my pretty catch-all recommendation (I actually have several CDR's on my board, each filling different functions). But what effects are you hoping to have on your board? How big of a board do you want?

    • @GameMasterIzzio
      @GameMasterIzzio 6 лет назад +1

      @@Merlincat007 so far I've been looking at an MXR carbon copy delay, Volume pedal, MXR analog chorus, Keeley compressor plus, Tuner pedal, Soul food, and Caline Overdrive. Basically looking for 2 dirt pedals, some reverb and delay, and good compression

    • @Merlincat007
      @Merlincat007 6 лет назад +1

      If you're looking to keep size down, I'd highly recommend the mooer Yellow Comp compressor (diamond compressor clone), and I believe Mosky has several clones that are the same as Caline dirt pedals only in the mini form-factor.
