So, I saw a tip the other day that said when you have that kind of bulk in the middle of a seam, to place your leader scrap under the back of the presser foot to raise it a bit. It works, I tried it with this block. Of, course, you have it back far enough that you don't take a stitch in it! Thank you for some fun again today!
Wow, wow, wow! I might have to walk away a lot during the construction of this block, but I’m excited to give it a go. I can do this. I can do this. Thanks Kimberly for going slow, when I know you want to go fast. 🤓
This is an amazing series of classes! Im a little behind but catching up fast! I really have learned so much and sure buy the time ive completed these lessons i will be confident to do my own project. Thank you so much.
Great camera work, I was anticipating each seam! Lol I can hardly wait to practice with this block! Thank you for this series. We can always learn from another sewer.
Is it just me? At minute 15:20 Kimberly says "now we're going to go back to our cutting table", but at minute 15:21 the units have already been trimmed 1/4" from the sewn line and we are at the pressing station! It's not a big deal, for the 2nd half of the "geese" Kimberly demonstrates the trimming. But I thought maybe I blinked and missed it!
I can tell you the caution when cutting is so true I cut the tip of my left index finger off fingernail and all.. I had to go to ER about 12 that night, it would not stop bleeding they had to cauterize it to make it stop bleeding it has been around a month and it is still very very tender before that I cut the same finger to the bone I should have went to ER then but I didn't .. Ladies be careful I know you need you fingers as I do .. I bought me one of those suction handles for my ruler it works great that keeps my fingers out of the way.. Let me tell you you will cut it and not know you have until after it is done.. be safe.. we need our fingers to sew with..ha
I will definitely be cutting and stitching this block in stages. Take my time and not going to rush! Wondering if possible to press seams open to avoid bulk at intersections???
Hello Linda! It's easier to start with a pattern you want to make, then purchase the fabric requirements it asks for. If you do just like a certain fabric and want to purchase the full collection, then fat quarters are a safe choice.
This block is little confusing but i laid out all my pieces on my table with alphabetties alot of bulk where do i find the social media to post my blocks thank you
This for me is way to complex for a beginner it has stressed me out I like Block 4 , 8 and 9 I will be glad to get it done all my points are fine its just way to hard for a beginner in my opinion! this block got confusing cause you changed yours I was watching you instead of the pattern.
@@marilynporemba6188 I glad it just wasn't me, lol I had only made rag quilts.. I've never used a sewing machine in my life till now. I cut squares of one size and sewed those together was way easier than all this cutting, and cutting has to be spot on, almost perfect to get the quilt to come out right... happy sewing..
A Massive Thumbs Up, thank you
All my points match on my first try! I must be getting better at this! Woohoo!!
Beautiful block🥰
God bless you, I love your teaching methods. I love that you are so meticulous. Thank you so very much.
I love your thought process of when you get stressed have a snack and take a nap.

Love the way you explain
Thank you!
I really like your way of teaching. Very relaxed.
I had never used leaders and enders before. I love it! It really helps!
Thank you everyone…beautiful❤
Thank you for all the extra encouragement for us beginners!

Thanks for your help and all the extra tips 🥰 your awesome ❤️
Thank you, another great refresher. Loved your tip on using a seam ripper in a previous video. Never knew that and it was a great help. Thank you 🧵🧵🇨🇦
Thank you!!!
You make me believe!
Great series. Like the slow pace and explaining. I may be ready to tackle this soon. Learning so much.
Block 7 is done! Definitely the hardest. 😅
I really like the intro music you're using, Lily.

Nope. Not just you. : ) I just rewound twice to make sure I didn't miss it. : )
I like the rotating mat I got from you guys. I would be the one to cut myself if I kept doing it backwards.
I thought I would never get through this block. Definitely challenging. Why is this block so hard?

Hi Angela! Yes, you can always press seams open as an alternative and it will help ease that bulk.
@@FatQuarterShopTX Thank you. You're the best!
I love pressing open but my seams kept coming open. 🤦🏼♀️ guess its s beginner mistake. Lol.
Great series! What's your thoughts on using clips instead of pins? Thanks!
Hello! While Kimberly prefers to use pins as she feels they give her more accuracy, clips could be just as effective if you are so inclined!
When you are a beginner, does it matter how you buy fabric. Is it better to buy the fat quarters than to buy by the yard.

Hello great video. I was wondering if the bobbin case on the eversewn is plastic or metal
Hi Terri, it is a plastic bobbin inside a metal case.
@@FatQuarterShopTX thank you 😊
I love doing this quit as I am not a very good sewer. I cannot get block 12 as it states private video
Hi Rhea, there isn't a block 12, which video are trying to view?
Please provide me the item # for the pins you are using. I believe you said you use 5mm. Thank you
Love your videos and look forward to them, however you should never cut towards yourself!
What is the stitch length
Hello Mercyy! Kimberly typically uses a 1.5 stitch length but we recommend a 2.0 stitch length.
Hi
I’m scared...😬. Funny that you talk about being 16 and driving a car...my daughter turned 16 today...and that scares me, too!
Don't be scared Laurie we believe in you (and your daughter!).
You guys are so sweet!

I got stressed out on this one as well. When I am watching the videos I make notes on the pattern,
