I turn 40 tomorrow, and totally agree, for the most part. Not that you asked, but: Melissa M, Tara Lynn, & even Taylor Wynn (chronologically younger, but that wisdom and light 🕯️👌🏼) are some you may be interested in checking out. I don't religiously follow any beauty 'tubers except a handful, and that's only because they're helpful in some way. ETA Melissa can come off as a schill sometimes, and I usually run from that type of thing, but I do think her helpful and fun content overshadows that, for the most part.
I've finally figured out why I enjoy your channel so much, even though your beauty style is not mine: Your charm, humor, and beauty are balanced with a refreshing "No Bull****" quality. I appreciate that more than I can express!

That's a tough choice picking bigger brands over the smaller ones. I feel like I've found that I love smaller indie brands more but I hate not being able to purchase what I want when I want. Like I hate that I've never been able to just go to terra moons and order the multichromes on a random Tuesday. I hate pre orders and I hate waiting months for my products. I remember it was like 4 months that I had to wait for the stained glass collection.
Also for me is the shipping rules and explanations, and I get overwhelmed just trying to make sense of it and then by the time I finally figure out how the shipping works, there's no guarantees with all that, I just give up and don't want to buy from them.
angelica I think youtube could be a job for a large potion of your life as long as you do make up geared to your age group there are loads of channels that do make up for older subscribers 40's 50's and so on you have a brilliant personality on your channel and I think you would still continue growing people will always wear make up at any age still colourful xx
Tbh I never thought at the beginning Manny and Laura's brands would be as big as they are now, but they really keep up with the themes and released good to amazing products.

I am the same with my dogs and cats. I've had two dogs who I've had to take to the hospital for emergencies and i didnt care what they charged me, I put it on a credit card. Sadly they didnt make it but it was worth it knowing I tried my hardest. I love my babies, they are my family. 🐶🖤
Not from a nosey or transparency perspective but I wish more creators were sharing how they make their money/how we can financially support them best. I’ve been avoiding beauty content lately because I can’t afford to purchase anything. Knowing someone is supported by the views changes helps change my mindset.
Great video! I love hearing about behind the scene. I used to teach online art classes and had to learn how to make videos, edit them, upload them, etc. It is a lot of work, but I loved it. I love makeup-the face is just another canvas. I have toyed with the idea of a RUclips channel, but wonder if I have anything to bring to the table. None of my friends love makeup like I do, so it would be nice to meet others who love makeup. I am 65, and I don’t see a lot of women my age who love the more colorful looks. I am retired now, so time isn’t an issue. BTW, I couldn’t hear any background noise! I so love your channel!

Totally. I get the perception as a creator that viewers don't care because we only spend about 15 min per video thinking about that creator, then we move on, BUT as a viewer we spend those 15 minutes on every video getting to know that creator and when that creators morals, aesthetic, vibe etc align with the viewer's it changes the relationship dynamic between the two and that creator begins to feel like a trusted friend who's opinion matters to you. So yes, loyal viewers care about "their" creators.

Yes to this perspective. This is not just for funsies, this is your job, and at the end of the day, businesses need revenue. Sometimes decisions don’t make financial sense and that’s all there is to it, has nothing to do with how much or little you may support indie brands.

Just bought Betty Jean’s and Amanda’s palettes, really love Lauren Mae’s colour story but because I love it so much I already have very similar things. Can’t wait to get them! Missed the Christmas Eve palette and I’m still bummed so I rushed to buy these.
I think a lot of people have a hard time letting go of the old days of RUclips when we were hanging out with our unpaid makeup friends. There was a time when people were making videos in their rooms with their phones and there was no money to be made, yet. No backgrounds, no filters, no sponsors, no ads, no scandals. It was just so fun and new at that time. It didn't last very long, but it's hard to explain to people who weren't there for it. So much has happened since then. Now, we have at least a few creators helping us understand that yes, they are doing this for money because it's a legitimate job, it's a career, it's work, and it's certainly not something meant for everyone. This is the norm now and it's not so bad, at least when people are transparent. Honesty pays off. You can look at the few remaining OG's like Emily Noel and see the difference. On the other hand, the videos were only a few minutes long back then. These days, I can listen to Angie while I prepare school lunches, clean the stove, or do something even worse, like handwashing straws! But I kind of cling to the old illusion of our old makeup friends sharing eyeliner tips in their bedroom or bathroom. It was a special time.
We're the same age as you and live paycheck to paycheck. We don't get to go on vacations and things like that but we do own our house and we aren't so bad off we go without things we need you know. I wish I had done things differently when I was younger so financially things would be easier now but it's OK. We've been trying to save money every check recently because I'm going to need a car soon. Medical bills and student loans are the biggest chunk of debt and financial struggle.
you can even rent out the house you buy instead of selling it and have a nice passive income coming in monthly... to help pay off the forever apartment

Same here with my furbaby, whatever he needs medically he will get. He has to get a medicated bath every 2 weeks, he has environmental allergies, been doing this for 3 years now, he will be 8 years old next month. Poor baby that shampoo has to stay on him for 30 minutes but I bought him a robe they wrap him in if it’s too cold. He also gets an allergy shot every 5 weeks. I set aside money every month just for his needs. He gets no store bought food, I make his food, it’s like meal prepping for him. I’m retired it’s no problem. ❤🐾❤️🐾

looking at the amount of subscriber on your thumb nail page I thought you had a million and twenty six subscribers due to the fact you started your channel in Sweden and I figured there probably weren't that many beauty youtube content provider's so people would support a person from their country xx
Well there are a few, but I think most consumers here are interested in Swedish content. So, speaking Swedish and showing products easily accessible here. They're not going to be too drawn to English speaking content and products which are hard to come by here. The only Swedish speaking beauty content creator I follow is Margareta Grääs (Angie's friend who I discovered through her). She has a fun personality and loves colorful makeup. The average makeup wearing Swede goes for a light soft glam/neutrals/barely there kind of makeup though. I'm not interested in viewing that type of content as it just becomes so boring in the long run, to me. But all of these things probably play into why Angie's viewers aren't mainly from Sweden 😊
You know, when I think of bigger RUclipsrs it's not Manny or Laura Lee or Jackie Aina. I haven't watch any of those lately. I think of You and Heather and Sam March!!! maybe I just got great taste in RUclipsrs. Not saying the other folks aren't good I just don't watch them anymore. I always wondered how much RUclipsrs make, when I googled it it, the influencer marketing site said it varies a lot depending on your views and engagement. I used your discount code to shop for the persona 5 products off Game beauty. I'm 30 and don't own a house yet, but Im from the UK where the culture is that everyone buys property in their 20s, all my friends and colleagues have done so, people are obsessed with property and hate renting here

You have one of the largest channels that I personally watch. I'm subscribed to a few really big channels but I rarely watch their videos or people like Brit Clark and Sam Ravendol aren't consistent with uploads and it irritates me so I'll probably unsubscribe. They're entitled to do what they want with their channels so if it's working for them I'm happy, it just doesn't work for me lol.

Crystal, did you see that on reddit? I was really surprised bc i first saw those kinds of comments on instagram, then on tiktok and then a ton on reddit. I was hesitant to buy anything from them bc it wasn’t just a few complaints…. I trust Angi and a few other RUclipsrs so that’s what surprised me about the negative comments. Editing takes me FOREVER!!!! That's why I only post once a week...I would do more if I could get it done faster. Maybe I'm chopping too much out?! Trying to be too much of a perfectionist. Or talking too much lol

A viewer must watch :06 seconds of an ad for it to be counted as a viewed ad for the advertiser. Meaning the advertiser does not get charged for that impression if the ad is skipped prior to :06 seconds. I work for one of the largest broadcast/digital media group and sell targeted RUclips campaigns. That’s the parameters we sell to our advertisers, but not sure of the length for content creditors though. Being 100% commission, I make sure to at least watch min of 6 seconds and try to watch all of the ads to ensure creators get their commission. Commercials and ads have been my income for over 20 years, so I am a little loyal on viewing ads! 😂. Angie, I got you on viewings ads in your awesome content!! ❤

Thank you for being open to talk about money, financial literacy can be difficult to achieve. My parents werent't "bad" examples, but they lived and continue to live a different financial life than I do. Despite having modest investments, I don't know what do to with my money -literally, I don't have plans for the money that is growing. The past year has been hard: burnout and mental health leave beyond what the government covers. People were saying: "your investments can't be your savings, you shouldn't be dipping into them" Then, what the fuck do while I'm unemployed? 🤷♀️

I have been watching a utuber for 2 years going through a devastating change in their lives, but lately, I decided to pull back ... so basically I couldn't handle the constant moaning and negativity, it is not that I didn't care. Especially with ppl that you watch their family life their vlogs etc. I discovered your channel almost 3 years ago and I have been addicted to you since. It’s hard to hear somebody say “I make good money” if they won’t quantify it because that phrase is subjective. How should a person decide if they want to quit their job to do RUclips if people won’t say what “pretty good money is”? I may be making more than your amount already or not even close…
Well every person has a different amount they need for bills & rent. It depends on so many variables. When I quit my job they both paid me equally as much.
I don’t blame Angie one bit for not being super specific. Even if she was, someone who might use her # as a reason to quit their job and do RUclips very likely won’t ever make that same #, regardless of how much work, heart, and soul is put into it. Angie is Angie. 🤷🏻♀️

But I’m just saying real numbers make certain things easier to understand. Angie’s work ethic on here is definitely unparalleled. She treats this like a business and it shows. At this point she is probably the only channel that I watch every single piece of content from. She’s very professional. I agree with her saying “people don’t care about you” in the broader sense. If tell your viewers “this is a business and i do this for money” then I will see you as a business too and I will expect certain things from the business I’m consuming from. It’s how out has to be.

Well, if I do a little qualified guessing considering what salaries look like in Sweden (what would be considered a decent salary after university studies at an office job), and Angelica mentioned she makes 4-5 times more these days from YT... I'm going with perhaps 10 000 - 15 000 USD per month? To me that sounds like a really really good monthly income so go Angelica! :) I think she does a fantastic job and deserves it.

I think a lot of people have a hard time letting go of the old days of RUclips when we were hanging out with our unpaid makeup friends. There was a time when people were making videos in their rooms with their phones and there was no money to be made, yet. No backgrounds, no filters, no sponsors, no ads, no scandals. It was just so fun and new at that time. It didn't last very long, but it's hard to explain to people who weren't there for it. So much has happened since then. Now, we have at least a few creators helping us understand that yes, they are doing this for money because it's a legitimate job, it's a career, it's work, and it's certainly not something meant for everyone. This is the norm now and it's not so bad, at least when people are transparent. Honesty pays off. You can look at the few remaining OG's like Emily Noel and see the difference.
On the other hand, the videos were only a few minutes long back then. These days, I can listen to Angie while I prepare school lunches, clean the stove, or do something even worse, like handwashing straws!
But I kind of cling to the old illusion of our old makeup friends sharing eyeliner tips in their bedroom or bathroom. It was a special time.

We're the same age as you and live paycheck to paycheck. We don't get to go on vacations and things like that but we do own our house and we aren't so bad off we go without things we need you know. I wish I had done things differently when I was younger so financially things would be easier now but it's OK. We've been trying to save money every check recently because I'm going to need a car soon. Medical bills and student loans are the biggest chunk of debt and financial struggle.
you can even rent out the house you buy instead of selling it and have a nice passive income coming in monthly... to help pay off the forever apartment

Same here with my furbaby, whatever he needs medically he will get. He has to get a medicated bath every 2 weeks, he has environmental allergies, been doing this for 3 years now, he will be 8 years old next month. Poor baby that shampoo has to stay on him for 30 minutes but I bought him a robe they wrap him in if it’s too cold. He also gets an allergy shot every 5 weeks. I set aside money every month just for his needs. He gets no store bought food, I make his food, it’s like meal prepping for him. I’m retired it’s no problem. ❤🐾❤️🐾

looking at the amount of subscriber on your thumb nail page I thought you had a million and twenty six subscribers due to the fact you started your channel in Sweden and I figured there probably weren't that many beauty youtube content provider's so people would support a person from their country xx
Well there are a few, but I think most consumers here are interested in Swedish content. So, speaking Swedish and showing products easily accessible here. They're not going to be too drawn to English speaking content and products which are hard to come by here. The only Swedish speaking beauty content creator I follow is Margareta Grääs (Angie's friend who I discovered through her). She has a fun personality and loves colorful makeup. The average makeup wearing Swede goes for a light soft glam/neutrals/barely there kind of makeup though. I'm not interested in viewing that type of content as it just becomes so boring in the long run, to me. But all of these things probably play into why Angie's viewers aren't mainly from Sweden 😊

I used your discount code to shop for the persona 5 products off Game beauty. I'm 30 and don't own a house yet, but Im from the UK where the culture is that everyone buys property in their 20s, all my friends and colleagues have done so, people are obsessed with property and hate renting here

The question about why don't you feature more indie brands made me chuckle a little. You're using oden's eye! Not to mention, you do swatches of every new launch clionadh puts out, you use unearthly & glamlite & so many indie brands I could list! I fully understand what you mean about singles because I've noticed more & more small Indies who started out with singles are starting to move away from that. I'm gutted that menagerie discontinued their singles, but I understand why. 🥺💔
I just found out I need neck surgery and just the doctor portion will be over $5k. I'll need ot pay seperately for the hospital and anthesiologist. If I don't get it though I will become paralyzed so.

You have one of the largest channels that I personally watch. I'm subscribed to a few really big channels but I rarely watch their videos or people like Brit Clark and Sam Ravendol aren't consistent with uploads and it irritates me so I'll probably unsubscribe. They're entitled to do what they want with their channels so if it's working for them I'm happy, it just doesn't work for me lol.
Seems like people forget that youtube is work. And there's only so much time you have to make videos you want to make without getting burn out. 🤨

I know you have tried, many of Oden's Eye Eyeshadows. & I read that some people are having, there Oden's Eye Eyeshadows, the SHIMMERS turn OILY & oil leaking around the edges of the pan! & there MATTES turn Hard Pan.. They even said there Eyeshadow Palettes weren't even a year old.. HAVE you ever HAD this, happen to ANY of your Oden's Eye Eyeshadows & Palette's?? I would really like to KNOW, what YOU THINK! I was hesitant to buy anything from them bc it wasn’t just a few complaints…. I trust Angi and a few other RUclipsrs so that’s what surprised me about the negative comments. A viewer must watch :06 seconds of an ad for it to be counted as a viewed ad for the advertiser. Meaning the advertiser does not get charged for that impression if the ad is skipped prior to :06 seconds. I work for one of the largest broadcast/digital media group and sell targeted RUclips campaigns. That’s the parameters we sell to our advertisers, but not sure of the length for content creditors though. Being 100% commission, I make sure to at least watch min of 6 seconds and try to watch all of the ads to ensure creators get their commission. Commercials and ads have been my income for over 20 years, so I am a little loyal on viewing ads! 😂.

My parents werent't "bad" examples, but they lived and continue to live a different financial life than I do.
Despite having modest investments, I don't know what do to with my money -literally, I don't have plans for the money that is growing. The past year has been hard: burnout and mental health leave beyond what the government covers. People were saying: "your investments can't be your savings, you shouldn't be dipping into them" Then, what the fuck do while I'm unemployed? 🤷♀️

I have been watching a utuber for 2 years going through a devastating change in their lives, but lately, I decided to pull back ... so basically I couldn't handle the constant moaning and negativity, it is not that I didn't care. Especially with ppl that you watch their family life their vlogs etc. I discovered your channel almost 3 years ago and I have been addicted to you since. I don't agree with you always but you are a long-distance friend that I trust her opinion of make-up fashion but also I like your life values. I always wish you well and try to learn from you.

It’s hard to hear somebody say “I make good money” if they won’t quantify it because that phrase is subjective. How should a person decide if they want to quit their job to do RUclips if people won’t say what “pretty good money is”? I may be making more than your amount already or not even close…
Well every person has a different amount they need for bills & rent. It depends on so many variables. When I quit my job they both paid me equally as much.
I don’t blame Angie one bit for not being super specific. Even if she was, someone who might use her # as a reason to quit their job and do RUclips very likely won’t ever make that same #, regardless of how much work, heart, and soul is put into it. Angie is Angie. 🤷🏻♀️

But I’m just saying real numbers make certain things easier to understand. Angie’s work ethic on here is definitely unparalleled. She treats this like a business and it shows. At this point she is probably the only channel that I watch every single piece of content from. She’s very professional. I agree with her saying “people don’t care about you” in the broader sense. If tell your viewers “this is a business and i do this for money” then I will see you as a business too and I will expect certain things from the business I’m consuming from. It’s how out has to be.

So if I use your channel as a benchmark of great quality and work ethic I may say to myself If I work this hard I can make around this much in ad sense. I am not one that asks these questions but when RUclipsrs share some of this info I find it very interesting. But certainly don’t blame you for not getting specific. Well, if I do a little qualified guessing considering what salaries look like in Sweden (what would be considered a decent salary after university studies at an office job), and Angelica mentioned she makes 4-5 times more these days from YT... I'm going with perhaps 10 000 - 15 000 USD per month? To me that sounds like a really really good monthly income so go Angelica! :) I think she does a fantastic job and deserves it.
