Not only is it those who speak only one language but it's those who think anyone can just speak English anywhere! I rather speak multiple languages with a few errors than just one perfectly
I admire those who can speak multiple languages! I've tried learning different languages in different ways and I just can't do it. In my experience, people who drag people down for not perfecting a secondary language are just very jealous.

My thought exactly. The people who criticise anyone for not mastering a second language usually don't have a clue what it is like to use any other language than their own or they're bigoted idiots looking for any excuse to be mean.
The goal of language is communication. When communication is achieved you're doing well enough!
Your English is actually excellent for not being a native speaker! Not only that but you express idioms and casual speak so well. And the fact you speak fluently in two languages puts you ahead of so many Americans. So go you!

Former Advanced Placement English teacher here. I'm uniquely qualified to discuss the English language. IF YOU ARE COMING HERE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYONE'S PRONUNCIATION OF ENGLISH, BACK OFF. NO ONE has mastered English. Some of us are better at it than others, but English is an extremely hard language to learn (even for native speakers). Most native English speakers have a 5th grade reading level. That's AVERAGE in the U.S. It's also very common for non-native speakers to have a higher functioning vocabulary than us native speakers in the U.S. No one should be lecturing anyone about their English... ever. It's RUDE.

My mom and grandmother immigrated from Paris and my gran spoke 4 languages including Latin, and my mom spoke three. I speak one and a half. Don’t be rude and make personal comments. If you don’t like, then don’t watch.

As a non native english speaking person myself I can understand how hard it can be to express your thoughts the way you think about them in words especially in a foriegn language to you! I have started to write comments a lot of the times but ended up deleteing them because I felt like I couldn't translate my thoughts into words the way I wanted to!

Yes! or there is one word that I can't find the exact translation for... and I know comments from me have been taken the wrong (as in not the way I intended it to be) way because there is something about the lack of vocabulary, or the syntax, or I don't know what that just makes it seems so.
English is my first language and I still come across as rude in text. Text is in the eyes of the reader. They are reading it with their own inflection and intentions. I can’t control that and I’m done trying.

I always appreciate your criticism of products. I find it quite constructive. Your criticism of the ABH Rose Metals palette was that it came of very grey. I saw it and thought it looked so warm, so I didn't want that, though it looked beautiful. After your comments, I realized it was more along my preference than yours and I bought it and loved it!. I also loved your criticism of the new Benefit brow pomade pencil. Your description of who it would work for was absolutely me. And I have it and love it. Because I'm the opposite of a build-a-brow gal. Please continue your descriptions and criticism. I appreciate them. Because I am not exactly like you. And your criticism is relevant and helpful. Same for me, when I hear you say something is too glowy or tacky (like foundation or cream blush) I know it could be a product I like because I don't have the same preferences as you and it's totally fine! Please keep on criticising, it's really helpful actually!
Honestly, I think those who criticize your accent when speaking English are just trolling you. You are amazing! Your command of vocabulary is exceptional and even better than a lot of native speakers. Ignore them. They are just out to hurt people. Love your make-up look once again! I'm inspired.
I'm not that far into the video, but two things already:
1. You speak INCREDIBLE English. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
2. I love your brows! I "build" my brows in a very similar method and it looks great on both of us, in my humble opinion 🧡

My unpopular opinion is the Patrick Ta rose Major Dimension palette everyone LOVES was actually 50 shades of orange. Alone on my island of hating that palette.
I don't get the hype on his palettes either. His color stories are a 1 trick Pony similar to UD Heat & Cherry palettes. I've heard his bol. 2 blush palette is awful. I didnt care for his bronzer either. I do like his duo & single blushes, + his lip gloss formula. I still want to try the brow lamination.
I hated that palette. I decluttered mine. It had no depth, all the shades look the same on the eye and the metallics were thin.

No one should be calling you dumb for your English skills. There are people born and raised in the US who don't speak English well and should have several seats. Quite often, the speech pattern one has in their native language shows up in English. In my city, there are a lot of German women, it's an Army town. These ladies are very direct to the point that natural-born Americans perceive it as rude, but it's really not rudeness. It's an artifact of the German language that shows up in their speech even in other languages.
I'm personally sick of the buttering up and cotton balling of the British/Western countries. I'm in Australia, I think we do it less than USA, but I prefer the German style. Actually I think a lot of different ethnicities are more direct. I'm Greek heritage, my husband has a mix of Asian heritage - just direct and honest.

I'm Swedish as well but have been speaking English since a young age due to growing up on American sitcoms lol, and I'd say I have a very American accent which is not common here and I'm more comfortable with the language than most. Like yes, you can tell that Angie is not a native English speaker, but her English is amazing. People are so ridiculous sometimes.
I can confirm this, I am german, too. Why should we be rude by talking in a certain way? It happens the other way round, too, when americans try to speak german. If they like, one can correct them and teach them how to choose the right words, and they will get better and better by the time. I find it more funny if people are making so many mistakes in their own native language, and this happens a lot among either germans and americans... No wonder our world is so full of hatred and wars, if people are getting angry about language being

I'm a German in Minnesota and for me it's more than just an artifact of language - it's very much cultural. I've been her long enough that I've overall softened by approach but every once in a while I still catch people that don't know me very well off guard by being blunt 😂 But at the same time I've also lost enough of my accent that casual acquaintances don't know I'm not American, so I think that's likely part of why it surprises them
You're so damn right though. We all hate fillers and botox we can see - it's the people who get "the good stuff" that we'd NEVER know about that are succeeding at plastic surgery. Sadly... the bad stuff is so prevalent and so obvious that it's sad to see and turns a lot of people off. Great comment about it though - it's good to bring light to that.
Angie I love that neutrals aren’t your favorite. I think it makes the neutral palettes you do like really stand out. Or I guess if you like it I always know it’s got SOME color or performs really well like Blend Bunny Dollhouse.
I like watching a variety of creators. People who have the same preferences, skin tone or type as well as those who have completely opposite. Even channels that have nothing to do with makeup I watch people of every age, lifestyle, etc. I just like a lot of different beliefs, opinions etc. Plus there's just not a lot of people I see myself in on RUclips.
I am like Angie. I follow those channels that I can relate to, common interests, etc.
I am so impressed by how well you have blended out ONE shade of purple. I need to use so many lighter tones to get such a blend, this looks so nice. I need to try changing my primers and brushes as it is obviously possible.
I think also with the small/mid influencer collabs often have deeper connection with their audience that can drive sales whereas large influencers pull is sometimes a mile wide but an inch deep
On another tone, I can't imagine, how much work this everyday uploading is for you, but just to let you know, I am so grateful for the videos! Living in a hot and humid climate, setting sprays have made a massive difference in my make up lasting all day in Spring and Summer in Australia. Come winter though, I rarely use a setting spray.
I grew up around family, and family friends who English was there second or third language. Your English is excellent. You sound a lot better in English than I ever have in Turkish. I can't imagine ever wanting to blush my nose. I'm extremely fair so I use blush most often, but yea, it is not for me.
Your English is great! In the states, we are a major mixing pot. I come across non-native speakers daily and enjoy the interaction. I especially appreciate it when I go to another country and they help me out by speaking English. Ignore the ignorant American comments on your English. They have no tolerance for diversity. Don't give them a second thought!
My unpopular opinion is I don't like bronzing up because I always look like I am dirty haha it looks great on others but just not on my fair skin. I think that opinion is due to me growing up in South East Asia where being fair is the beauty standard. So even if I moved here to Canada, I can't get on board being tan and bronzed. 😂
my bff in Sweden has very fair skin with a pink undertone and she never ever bronzes because she doesnt like it on her :)

I never stop being surprised at how rude people are. It has been said many times and in many ways, these are people that are incredibly unhappy with their own life's and deflect that with the mean comments. Keep doing what is right for you and I will continue to be a viewing subscriber.

I know this is going to be a very unpopular opinion and I’m definitely not “buttering you up” it’s completely honest, in my opinion the last actually good release from kaleidos was your palette!
Everything after that has been ugly, bulky packaging and not nice colour palettes. They shot themselves on the foot when they started discontinuing the 5 pan palettes, they were the best thing in their lineup. Sorry not sorry 😅.
Ps- honestly surprised that so many of you are agreeing with me 😅 let’s hope they stop making boring quads and lace covered blushes😖 and bring back sci fi green and the other 5 pans. Maybe new 5 pans too?! 🤞and bigger nice palettes

If a makeup product doesn't work for someone, doesn't mean that will not be another person hidden gem. For example everyone is raving about creamy concealers here on YT like the Nyx one, Lys, ABH, Lancome, Catrice etc. I have oily undereye area Tarte Shape Tape is my jam and is not heavy and doesn't sit in my fine lines or crease. Is my bullet proof concealer ! Also i feel like a super hyped brand is Charlotte Tilburry, i believe they're products are heavy most of the time , the only thing i like is the Hollywood Flawless Filter! And i don't contour 🤣 i am a "bronztour" girl !
I find it very funny some native English speakers are so rude towards a person that learned English as their second language. And honestly one thing is making fun of the accent that you also can laugh and learn but when people are rude about it, my response is always "sure, I speak 3 languages fluently so..."
I actually love hearing words said differently from people who have English as a second language! It still said in a way that everyone understands, some people just like being petty 😬
The nyx snatch brow goes on perfectly and never seems to dry out. I have the 70's over plucked brows, I hardly have a thin line and I'm 62 so I'm a no brow, the best part of that problem is my brow skills. I have been known to wipe them off just to prove to people they're drawn on !

Though I wear neutral shadows 95% of the time, I love watching your videos for the great commentary and for your opinions on complexion products. Like you, I'm in my 30s and have "normal" skin, but so many RUclipsrs rave about super glowy/dewy products that make me look greasy.

My super unpopular opinion... anybody who uses super expensive makeup (like Pat Mc Grath, ND, YSL, Dior...) is biased and gaslit by the price (if it's expensive then it more valuable, right?) and because a tiny part of them is terrified to have flushed their money down the toilet. There. I said it!

very few people in the US can speak 2 languages. very few. they shouldn't complain about someone who is bilingual or multilingual having and accent. they need to self reflect. if they are not bilingual themselves don't throw shade on someone smart enough to speak more than one. seriously. i failed french. i have the utmost respect for anyone who can speak more than one language. you are awesome.
I dont understand why people judge others with their English speaking levels.... I imagine those same people who are judging your English skills, they would struggle to learn Swedish or any other language. Speaking more than one language (without being native) is hard for everyone

I don’t like fillers or Botox. I feel the same way about them as I do about diabetic medication (which is in very short supply) being used as a weight loss mechanism. I appreciate that you admit to using them, unlike many RUclipsrs.

Love how reflective you are on your own person! It's very important to question ourselves in order to grow and understand better the world that surrounds us 😊 happy to hear that Lethal eyeshadow formulas have improved! I really like the brand but i gotta say I have a magnetic palette with a custom colorstory from 2y ago and they're definietly not bad, but kinda hard to build (both mattes and shimmers). But it didn't stop me to order some cheek and lip products during the Black Friday sale, they were recommended a ton (including by you 😂) and I really like the aesthetics and idea behind the brand 😊
I’ll never understand the need some people have to be mean or cruel in their comments. I’ve disagreed with a few opinions here over the years but have never resorted to name-calling. There is a way to state an opinion without resorting to ad hominem attacks and, to me, it speaks volumes as to the individual’s level of maturity. Angie is here to talk about makeup. Opinions are just that and they come in all sizes. They’re not facts. People who refuse to change their opinion when presented with new information are silly. Also, I only speak English, but after having brain surgery I struggle with that. People are ridiculous and need to learn to laugh.
I haven’t tried much Patrick Ta, but I love his lip gloss. I agree that smaller audience influencers have better collabs. I also find they tend to be with companies who have better quality products.

I HATED that urban decay lip thing too. It didn't dry down on me at all. Tried the waiting, tried a fan, tried anything.. nothing so it was a sticky goopy mess.

Seriously, though, I can’t imagine people getting so worked up over make up that they personally attack people. And I love it when you’re slightly shady on here like I wanted to you to name some names of some people you don’t watch just so I could get a laugh. not me stirring the pot! It is funny to me to hear people anti-haul and have unpopular opinions about make up, so thank you for having the courage to make this video lol! Unpopular Opinion, but i personally hate full coverage foundation. No matter how little product you use, it always seems to look cakey and feel cakey in real life. From what i’ve seen, it only looks good in photos with proper lighting. :/
Also imo i think some imperfections in general look better than perfect filtered skin. feels more human(?) and is cute to me
I never do contour, especially on my nose. I have a prominent Italian nose, and contour just looks weird on it. May be my technique. 🤷♀️ I also don't so bronzer in the colder months; I just put on more blush. 🙈
Same only I have a “proper British beak”. My nose is very narrow, to the point that my nostrils are almost closed and my nana once asked me how I breath lol. It’s my dad’s nose, we joke that my mom cursed me at birth by saying she hoped I didn’t get his nose. I am literally the female version of my dad, nose and all lol.
I wish I could figure out how to make my nose less prominent but that is not likely and at 57 I’m okay with that. Though I have considered survey to see if my nose could be widened a bit because yeah breathing is nice.
I agree on putting blush on my nose. I think it’s cute in others but looks weirdly unnatural on myself.

When I think about your English as your second language, i am blown away honestly. I have a very basic Spanish vocabulary. My goal is to be as proficient in Spanish as you are in English.
I'm a highly educated native English speaker with a basic understanding of French. I have so much respect for people like yourself who live or work somewhere where the main language is not your native language. It's pure ignorance to belittle immigrants for having less than perfect English grammar or a thick accent.
1) can I just say, you look exceptionally stunning in this video. Really interesting vid! I’ve been watching you change & grow for years; you’re such a kind & caring person. I just despise that people leave you mean comments. Maybe due to my mature status-but other than political activism, unless one has something nice or neutral (meaning non-confrontational), one should abstain from commenting at all if they’re spewing ugliness, imho. Often, though I watch fewer & fewer makeup vids, I DO watch nearly each of yours as they are so calming & sensible to me. You always extend courtesy-the least people can do, IF they disagree w/ your opinions, is be a civil human, & state their opinion/s, w/out hurting anyone else! In all aspects of life actually. There are very few issues worth “fighting” about-as we all hv more in common than not, when carefully analyzed. Love to you Angie! The makeup step I never do is bronzing/contouring. I'm so pale that every bronzer that I've ever used has looked like literal dirt on my skin. No matter how light the shade is, it never looks right on me. If I do want to add some structure to my face, I have to use the Notre-Dame shade from the Passion in Paris palette. It's the only thing that actually looks good on me.
I agree with the primers/setting sprays possibly not working for normal skin. I had combo skin most of my life and a good primer was a MUST to keep my oily t-zone matte and my dry cheeks from flaking. But last year my skin went through a major shift and is now fairly normal. and now I skip primers most days because I forget... because I don't need it to make my makeup hold up. Skin type definitely plays a factor and it's definitely not a necessity for everyone

I find angy on youtube october last year and im getting back to her oldest video whenever i have some free time cauze shes so funny. I recomend 100% for every suscriber. Aniwaiis yesterday i was watching one new makeup realeses from i think may 2021. I lol so hard, it was so hilarious because angy was so hatefull about almoust every single realese from that week that its almoust ofensive (and for me to enjoy it must be pretty offensive since i have the darckest humor on earth) and made me realize how much a person can grow on a year.

Something I truly appreciate and enjoy about commentary from both you and Nikki Raven is you're both so descriptive about why something works for you and why it doesn't. This has led me to make some choices for things that may not work for both of you, but I know will probably work quite well with my incredibly dry, fair and pink-toned skin. It's rather shocking to me that someone insults your mastery of English because you do such a lovely job giving your thoughts and opinions clearly and in a succinct way. Some people are just very grumpy and it's not a good look. I always say since we're all going to have wrinkles, I'd rather have happy wrinkles than grumpy ones!
Edit: The blush on the nose with a very light hand (and I mean _light_) can be very flattering for an ultra pink skin tone. It helps keep my skin from looking "flat" since I don't use much, if any bronzer. I don't like a heavy hand though. It ends up looking like a sunburn or frost bite!
Blush on the nose is an yes or no technique. You either love it and it looks great, or you don’t. Audra at Home looks fantastic when they put blush on their nose. I don’t and don’t do it. I do contour my nose because it’s very wide at the bottom and in general I try to slim and and sharpen my wide, round features. But that works for me and I try to accomplish the effect without it being noticeable.
I’ve learned a lot from you over the time I’ve watched you. You’re one of the bigger creators I watch. I just don’t enjoy the larger creators styles and their products that it seems like they are perpetually pushing. For you and I, we don’t have similar skin tones or types, but I’m not that much younger than you. i just love having variety in my life and my feed. I don’t generally do colorful makeup on me, but I love what you do and watching it. I can make it about astrology 😉Although I’m a Cancer, my sun and Mercury (in Leo) are in the 11th house (Aquarius). Feeling stagnant in my thought process drives me bananas and I’ll totally acknowledge being terribly stubborn. Anyways, one of the most important things I’ve gotten from you is “taking breaks”. Some brands and people are permanent breaks. Some brands are temporary while they re-focus.
Lastly, I debated on even giving these people the time of day, but you, as someone who chose to make America your home right now, and others who do or want to do the same deserve the support. If you make the choice to comment negatively on a person’s English, at best you are rude, but more than likely you’re a hate-filled potentially bigoted person. Ask yourself, preferably before you comment on a person’s language skills, if that’s who you want to be. If the answer is no, then challenge your bigotry.
Cream foundations have a learning curve. Im still getting to know them. I wouldnt apply the Patrick Ta full on, all over, i would buff a bit (undiluted) on spots/acne scars/etc, and then mix some with a primer or mixing medium to turn it into a liquid foundation and apply that as sheer layer all over. I would also use a shine control primer. But I havent tried it.
I don't hate your brows... but I would love to see you try some different techniques on them. I find it interesting to see different ways of applying every kind of makeup product.
