Angelica, I have watched you “off and on” over time as I am also a person who loves color. I have to tell you that I watch almost ALL of your videos now. You have integrity. I like that. I especially like the videos you have been making of late. Thank you for staying true to yourself. I’m your fan (and video watcher) for all time. Thank you.
Came to say exactly the same thing! I am here for this content! Business. This is all business and I think many people forget this along the way. Excellent video, well done!!
Yes, especially on the Natasha Denona. That's real class, knowing that sometimes the caveats attached to free luxury product isn't worth your going rate. 👍🏽✨
I agree! I watch her videos almost every morning whilst doing my makeup now and even when i dont agree with her opinions, it's still good content. Some people seem to confuse honesty with rudeness but angie just speaks her mind and her openness is refreshing.
I love how you treat PR and how you think about RUclips as a job. I think there would have been less drama on beauty RUclips if everybody would think that way. And... Happy birthday! 🥳🥂
I think there would still be drama, but because those involved in it need it to get views. Their content doesn’t have the quality to stand alone. Angie’s only agenda is to talk shop on her makeup hobby. A lot of creators take hobby in drama :/
Again. I agree. No unpaid sponsorships. No “we’ll give you free product and x, y, z, but you need to say only positive things”. I understand they’re a brand and need to maintain standards. If you maintain standards in your creation and production of products, you’ll create good products and maintain your brand. I’m a consumer and 1) don’t want people working for free for my benefit and 2) don’t want to be associated with the exchange of positive opinions for food on people’s table.
Sometimes I think brands forget that influencers can make or break a brand. I like when I find out that a brand kept someone on their pr list after a bad review, because it makes the brand look more honest. I know it’s just business, but it’s not a good look when they can’t handle criticism.
I love how you address such subjects in all transparency. I love to learn about the behind the scenes and how things work. Your content is always so pertinent 👌💜
As a very small creator, I obviously get no PR, but I do get a lot of attention from some brands and it really surprises me who reaches out and says thank you and who completely ignores me (which is fine they don’t need to at all) it’s just interesting
Totally agree with you regarding PR from benefit, and honestly that’s who I want to follow. People who are really making these products work because they love the products and showing me how to use them. Not because they have to meet predatory contractual obligations.
I have always loved your way of talking about a specific subject. Because you are so blunt and to the point! But NEVER rude! And you always have a lot of (what we in Denmark would call) self-insight. You are not just honest (but kind) about the world around you - but just as much about yourself, your views, faults etc. You just strike me as a sweet, fun, intelligent and kind woman. 🥰 By the way: "At least I didn't lick it!" nearly kil1ed me! 🤣 Love and light from Denmark, Scandinavia ❤️
Denmark, such a beautiful country. I've been to Copenhagen about 5 times now and just adore it. Beautiful city with beautiful people. I need to explore the rest of the country now 🥰
Nabla really should have kept you on their PR list. They are one of those brands that don’t always look super interesting, but they have amazing quality.
This is exactly why I love your channel. You have an honest approach and understand how the business world works. No drama just great makeup tips and reviews!
As far as Colourpop: I have spent hundreds of dollars at Colourpop and YOU are the reason why. I didn’t even know about that brand until I started watching your channel. And come on- you are the reigning Queen of colorful eye looks on RUclips and Colourpop were idiots to ever have taken you off their list.
I love that you continue to educate your audience on PR and branding. Brands aren’t your friends. For those in the back ! I just love to hear you speak! Xoxo
This was such a positive take on what is often a very awkward topic. Thanks for your honesty and candor. You had me at “I’m not out here for some free lipsticks”!
Omg I thought you were going to say Nabla when you were saying "One brand I miss".... I really love Nabla products. They make some of my favorite neutral eyeshadows/palettes and I like the other products I've tried. I am always interested in what they have. I do wish all of their products were available on Ulta though. I would like to try more from them. And check out their website sometimes too. But I would live to see more content on this brand
When she sprays her finger and asks “is this a thing”, girl I do this a lot at home when I do my makeup lol. I don’t feel like the odd ball anymore!!! Thank you for being so candid on your experiences with PR.
I love the idea for this video, and how even-handed you were the entire time. You're absolutely right: these were business decisions, and the brands (and you!) had to make the best possible choices for their businesses.
I love that you’re not doing anything for the free product but truly because you just love to. This is the reason why I fell in love with your channel and your presence on social media. You could do anything and I’ll watch it, lol.
Nyx/loreal makeup had a staff redjugle last year, so it might be that they've taken also a new direction.. Atleast that's my impression from communicating with them! 😁
You always discuss these issues so eloquently and I really respect that and what you’ve said makes perfect sense at the end of the day first thing I learned as a manager way back when is it’s not personal it’s business & when you’re in the type of Industry you’re in that’s how you have to see yourself to, thanks hun ✨🙏
same thing happened to me with Benefit Cosmetics, I couldn't sign that contract :/ and Colourpop offered to put me in the PR list but I had to make a post about EVERY single release :/ again, I couldnt do that
Couldn't agree more. Brands giving you products (that I imagine is a business expense and deducted re tax) does not entitle them to demand so much from you. That's really taking advantage and you're absolutely right and better off buying it yourself and knowing your own worth!
I think the retro palette I'd my favorite Natasha Denona palette. I love the super light pink matte in it and all the depth in it. It's basic, but I adore it.
Hello beautiful people!! Angie you are a doll. I appreciate your content and your integrity. Your opinion and talent are worth far more than a free product. Happy birthday 🎉🎂
I’m 69 and just love watching you do your eyes, nothing I would ever wear but just your talent keeps me wanting to see more. What a beautiful eye look, love watching your colorful looks, only you look good in all of them.❤
I love how you are open and honest about products, I've tried so many things because you suggested them. Glam lite is now one of my favs because of you. You embrace color and it's awesome I'm 35 and people expect me to be boring with makeup no thank you, you can always have color and you reinforce that idea.
Happy birthday! 🥳🥳Love the look! I would love to hear you talk about brands that u're in their PR list and brands that you would love to be in their PR list😊
I sincerely appreciate your perspective on this subject. I get annoyed at influencers doing PR unpacking and thanking the brand that sent them something, but they never ever show that product on their channel, outside of the Unboxing video. I appreciate that you will give an honest review, it makes you trustworthy and gives your opinion more value.
Your commentary is EXACTLY why I STILL watch you (& hv for many years). I TRUST that you don’t/won’t ever sell-out for any brand. You led me to to all sorts of types of beauty products over the years that I’d otherwise not known much about. You’ve also steered me clear of plenty that through your experience, I understand WHY they weren’t designed for me. And, your essential understanding of what PR is & what it is not, what brands are after all (brands, regardless of sector), are nearly never ‘our’ friends‼️ We as consumers, are responsible for doing our due diligence, to identify if in fact we choose to support them: always. Customer service experiences, return policies, & when brands (again, regardless of sectors) move/pivot in directions that no longer fit in our personal preferences/value systems. Case in point; no matter the raves, I just refuse to purchase any more Charlotte Tilbury. I’m in her “mature targeted market,” but have not found her high-priced product line to be worth their prices. They just don’t work for ME-& feel that they’re not worth value & utter redundancy. But THAT IS JUST ME. Not looking for arguments. And though I WAS on the Juvia’s Place ‘ride’ w/ you, amongst issues such as mgmnt, & ultimately, redundancy (or I guess me hving 10* palettes-eye & face), reached saturation for me, I am now past. For a person not professionally involved in the beauty industry-my collection is already much too large. I’m also leaning toward re-activating my stash, & ONLY adding what I hv a real need for, or truly a product that excites me. We appreciate you very much Angie, & we remain loyal for the exact discussion you brought to us in this vid 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽💟💯 Like in the fabulous/timeless /classic Carly Simon song “Anticipation.” THESE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS! Or as you say, rightfully, life is too short to get completely over one’s head, w/ an enjoyable, but not necessarily a life-sustaining interest like beauty. I agree, it’s a really fun & creative way to hv FUN, but to be beholden to… No Thanks. Deep Thanks to YOU! ❤
I love how you break down the sponsorship and PR contracts. Things like this opens the eyes of smaller creators to manipulative practices by marketing firms, hopefully pushing them to demand compensation terms that are fair.
Happy Birthday Angie! I love your videos, even when I'm not so interested in the products. I love hearing your insight and learning new techniques about makeup at the same time. 😊♥️ Thank you for your hard work too!!
I am so glad that you prefer the longer style videos. I do too. I like IG for some other things, but my favorite videos are tutorials and the short videos are just not enough IMO.
Any brand NOT putting this amazing woman on their PR is on the wrong level. Her collaboration work is straight 🔥.. sells out and is STILL covetable, so someone needs to sit TF down. Unreal. *Also.. Wait... Is Ms. Angie a fellow Aqua♒️Girl??
Angie, somewhat off topic (thank you so much for telling us about that contract that Benefit was trying to make smaller influencers sign!), but I would love to see some collabs between you and your RUclipsr friends where you're going trying the same products (especially complexion products) where one person loves it and one person hates it. Especially if you have similar skin types!! It would be really interesting to hear what exactly it is about the product that makes it work/not work for each of you. I ask this because I noticed that even though you and I happen to have similar skin types and preferences, you really like the Nyx Blur and Fenty Eaze drop, and both of them either caked or slipped right off my face. I have a suspicion that there is another aspect of skin chemistry (not just oil production levels) that makes certain foundations work for some and not for others. 🤔 Curious about your thoughts!!
I totally understand about it being work . I don’t get very much pr at all . I get Ipsy and a few odd campaigns and reviews here and there but even with just that I have so much stuff and it can get overwhelming for sure
If my opinion as a viewer counts, I say Benefit and NYX US should definitely put you back on their PR lists! I got the porefessional lite and the NYX banana powder because of you and I love them 😊 That being said, such a fair and honest account of what happened. Very classy on Angie’s part. Happy birthday🎉!
Happy birthday to you, dear Angie! Thank you for your dignity lessons! The PR list stories are really wild, because 100k should be a lot in any country for a makeup only channel... Love that you promote animal care too!!! Most people that move leave their animals behind, but you even adopted one more soul. Kindness is real!
I love that Nabla concealer, I just didn’t get the right shade for me. It’s really pretty, and I agree I think they’ve scaled back not just because of PR but their is a lot of space between releases and the collections that drop are very specific. Your content is always inspiring to me. Like yes, I would love to get views, but it’s fun for me to just be apart of this even in the smaller form I am. And you being a larger creator and still being honestly interested in makeup and not out for the fame and free-bies is how I think end-game should be.
Hi Angelika! I’m from Italy and I’ve seen the Nabla pr list becoming littler even here in Italy! I think covid hit hard on them, especially because they’re an indie brand. Also I think they’ve had some issues in the US because they were partnering with Morphe for reselling and Forma owns them nearly 250.000€. The Colourpop PR tactic is the same for a few of Italian influencers: they receive some products like three times at most. Unfortunately some of their products are not allowed in the EU zone and the influencers actually face a lot of fees due to it. With the pretty fresh cc cream some packages were literally blocked and refused so I guess they lack something necessary to sell in Europe! Ps: I love this color combo! Maybe cause they’re good with your eye color 💙
this was helpful in a way I did not expect. I came here to watch a lighthearted make up video but also got something out of it for how to approach work generally. The way we rely on work as a source of income makes it easy to assume any criticism or rejection means you're not good enough or there's something wrong about you, instead of thinking that maybe you just don't fit into their business structure or workplace. I used to ruminate on those type of things in the past and took it as a personal critique that I had to figure out and get better at, which can cost you a lot of time, energy and headspace for progress. This is a good way of looking at it, maybe not everything should work out. Thank you for putting your thoughts out there.
Actually spraying your finger is how i apply all my shimmers it creates way less texture on my 46 yr old lids and I got that tip from a MUA , so no fear Angie you won’t end up roasted for doing that lol.
Hi Angelica, I'd heard of Nabla, but didn't know them. I checked them out & found them to be subtle & beautiful. Placed an order right away. They should definitely put you back on PR! You're a wonderful ambassador. Also, discovered Oden's Eye with you! You have beautiful taste. A pleasure to watch your videos! ❤️🌟
The way you're talking about PR is a lot the way I feel about subscription boxes/bags, as far as never having bought something if it hadn't been sent to my house. I've discovered some wonderful products that I just never would have spent my money on or honestly never even knew existed.
I have around 60 palettes but I still purchased Hela, though I could probably dupe a lot of the shades. I bought it specifically because I wanted to show my support for you, not that you needed my money or I was a die-hard fan or anything like that. I bought it because I respect you. I love your integrity. I love your feminist views. I love your stance on racism. I love so many things about you, and I WANTED to have a part of you with me, to remind me of the independent, strong woman whose videos I watch with admiration and pride. And of course it is a beautiful palette, and of course I fell head over heels in love with the color story. It has easily become one of my FAVORITE palettes ❤🌈🌱💚
I have always liked your style of makeup.i have watched you for a few years.i remember when you barely received p.r and paid for most of your makeup by working.I am so happy that your channel grew since then. And you can chose what p.r you want to receive. You have respect for yourself and your channel.
i love nabla!! its one of those brands that ive discovered while working at ulta. im pretty sure its gunna be in our store soon too which im so excited for
Thanks for all the tea on these brands.Never knew so much was required to get PR makeup. I can't believe Benefit expects all that advertising for a free product!
I actually love this. This is how it should be, but I think the newer crew is overwhelmed by all the "gifts" without understanding how it works. As much as my morbid curiosity likes seeing the unboxing videos, I often wonder how brands can send this volume of product out, sometimes in extravagant packaging, to people who they want to basically use their time and money to make a fancy commercial several times a month. Making short or longform videos take a lot of planning, setup, filming, editing before it goes out. Free swag doesn't pay the bills. Also, those Colourpop quads tempt me(these colours look so beautiful on you!), but the packaging is so fragile. I kinda wish they made hardshell magnetic compacts for those, as even the plain magnetic palettes don't always hold up to my clumsy, and if it's plastic, I automatically take that out of consideration, as they break if I look at them funny.
Well I don’t use tik tok or IG I don’t have time for them all .. I only watch on you tube .. if they are looking for just those platforms they are missing out on a lot of great creators ❤❤ Loved how you addressed all ..
Great video and insight! Especially for someone like me trying to get noticed by brands. Thank You!!♥︎ btw loveee the look and the dresss!! Alwaysss love when I get a notification that you posted a new video, this may sound weird or funny LOL. But your voice and videos relax me and help my anxiety!! When I feel anxious and watch you for some reason it calms me lol♥︎
Also absolutely right about more than one pr list and the platforms.....Insta and TikTok have a counter through hashtags and it lets the brand know u have done a...b...c.. and d....at least for smaller creators like myself.and RUclips is not even a connected requirement for any brand anymore ..a shame ..I have one rule for myself and that is HONESTY BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY WAY U ARE TRUSTED....by ur audience and why u are engaging in the first place....one of the reasons I love u is the talent u have of chorus...but as well as, I trust u and ur opinions to be true to how u feel....💋❤️💯
I admire so much how you know what you want (or don’t want) and aren’t afraid to voice your opinions! Thank you - this video is so helpful to us baby RUclipsrs! 💖
I finally got the High School Musical blush after you mentioning it a million times! And it's incredible!! But you're right, I never would have tried it if you hadn't gotten it in PR and then recommended it. So Colourpop got some business by sending you PR :)
Thank you.
Oh thank you! :)
I’m not out here trying to please brands for free lipstick. 👏👏👏
I love how you treat PR and how you think about RUclips as a job. I think there would have been less drama on beauty RUclips if everybody would think that way.
And... Happy birthday! 🥳🥂
Of course she see it as a job because it is
I think there would still be drama, but because those involved in it need it to get views. Their content doesn’t have the quality to stand alone.
Angie’s only agenda is to talk shop on her makeup hobby. A lot of creators take hobby in drama :/
Wondering when her birthday is! Mine is January 20th

yessss i have a really small tiktok page but benefit sent me a lovely message and followed me and i really appreciate that
Totally agree with you regarding PR from benefit, and honestly that’s who I want to follow. People who are really making these products work because they love the products and showing me how to use them. Not because they have to meet predatory contractual obligations.
Big agree with that last part!
I'm glad you're an English speaking channel. I'd be lost without you and Annette hahaha 😆
😁
I have always loved your way of talking about a specific subject. Because you are so blunt and to the point! But NEVER rude! And you always have a lot of (what we in Denmark would call) self-insight. You are not just honest (but kind) about the world around you - but just as much about yourself, your views, faults etc. You just strike me as a sweet, fun, intelligent and kind woman. 🥰

Reads the title. Already loves it. ☕️
I think the retro palette I'd my favorite Natasha Denona palette. I love the super light pink matte in it and all the depth in it. It's basic, but I adore it.

How you managed that whole thing being so cheerful and so little shade - bravo!!!! I know that’s something you’ve said you work on, so 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your transparency about this topic says great things about your integrity as a creator and as a person
I remember really wanting a nabla palette a few years ago and now they’re totally off my radar. Definitely noticed them pulling back internationally.
I love that you’re being honest about the makeup brands ❤❤
I bought the red blush because of you and I’d never tried one before. Can’t put it down now!
It’s called integrity. Good for you. I enjoy your informative videos. Found you looking for green palettes
I love how honest you are 💜💜💜💜

Angelica, I watch you all the time and I love the way you use color! You are so influential and well liked and talented.... and I trust you 100%
That NABLA BRONZER IS SO PRETTY!!! HOW DID I NOT EVER SEE THIS?
I adore the Nabla bronzers and blushes
Angie, somewhat off topic (thank you so much for telling us about that contract that Benefit was trying to make smaller influencers sign!), but I would love to see some collabs between you and your RUclipsr friends where you're going trying the same products (especially complexion products) where one person loves it and one person hates it. Wow this is so SENSIBLE! Loved this business POV of ur channel.
Hi thanks for sharing...I agree about the other platforms..always come back to YT ..appreciate longer format!
I love how professional you are
I love that Nabla concealer, I just didn’t get the right shade for me.
I love your baby doggggggg! So sweet, thanks for taking her in ❤
Hi Angelika!
I appreciate you not letting brands bully you into what you want to say on your page ❤
this was helpful in a way I did not expect.
Very interesting 👌🏽 It's nice to know the behind stories of being an influencer
I always wondered how the whole PR thing works, really interesting insight:)
The Melt Bronzer (I bought it during the 40% off sale) is just okay to me. It's nice but didn't wow me. I don't think you're missing out.
Ah thank you for letting me know, I feel better now haha :P
Actually spraying your finger is how i apply all my shimmers it creates way less texture on my 46 yr old lids and I got that tip from a MUA , so no fear Angie you won’t end up roasted for doing that lol.
Thank you for the tip!!! I Will try it!
Hi Angelica,
I'd heard of Nabla, but didn't know them. I checked them out & found them to be subtle & beautiful. Placed an order right away. They should definitely put you back on PR! You're a wonderful ambassador. Also, discovered Oden's Eye with you! You have beautiful taste. A pleasure to watch your videos! ❤️🌟
Very good content! Good job! I appriciate the honesty. That‘s the reason why I follow or unfollow people
The way you're talking about PR is a lot the way I feel about subscription boxes/bags, as far as never having bought something if it hadn't been sent to my house.
Loving the Doggo Primer Boop
Your pragmatism is sooo refreshing. If found this video so interesting.
Good morning Angie!!! Happy birthday, beautiful! I hope you have an amazing blessed day! 🥳🎂🩵🩵💜😊🤎💙🩷
Thank you so much 🤗
@@AngelicaNyqvist You're welcome! 😊
More of these plz!!!!!! Omg tell other people do them too!
Happy birthday Angie! Keep being amazing! You work ethic is refreshing and your looks are on fire! You are doing amazing at all ages!!❤❤
I forgot that it's your birthday! 😱 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Angie!!! 🎂🎉🎁🎊🥳🎈I hope you have an AMAZING day!! 😍
You are probably my favorite creator. The only one I feel I can actually trust that your reviews and opinions are your own.
Hi Angelica! I have tried the melt bronzers and they are very nice. They blend into the skin wonderfully and stay on the skin throughout the day.
Thanks for the tip!
Well I don’t use tik tok or IG I don’t have time for them all .. I only watch on you tube .. if they are looking for just those platforms they are missing out on a lot of great creators ❤❤
Loved how you addressed all ..
I agree about her voice too!!
I love the way you say declutter! It's so cute.
I have sprayed my finger/shimmers too!!
So happy I found your channel!! ♥️
Angie, you are so truthful and real. That's what makes you so likeable!
I just have to say I bought that CP high school musical blush because of your recommendation and 😮I love it!!! Love your content!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I finally got the High School Musical blush after you mentioning it a million times! And it's incredible!! But you're right, I never would have tried it if you hadn't gotten it in PR and then recommended it. So Colourpop got some business by sending you PR :)
You were talking to colourpop about something else 👀 would love to see that orange blush collab finally!
I must say then I think this is so cool. Because I found you while you were still in Sweden!!
Happy Birthday!!! I hope you get to play games and have a fun day today filled with all the things you enjoy! 💐🎂🌷🍰
