What do you think we can learn from the collapse of these once great civilisations?
Inbreeding and corruption, in my opinion.
Move on to the neighboring civilization and continue decimating resources there
We can learn that no society is 'too great to fail'; we should take the threats of climate change seriously and not assume that the challenges we face tomorrow will be overcome the same way as in the past.
Ancient Apocalypse (2001).
Well outdated by 20 years of additional research.
Do the same thing as we go into the next civilization
The Mayans did not “disappear” as stated. They left the urban areas and scattered during the drought era but they and the their culture are still alive today!
there were plenty of instances in 20th century when people "ate their children" too. Over the course of human history, many thousands of years, we ought to have gotten past that and found some way to assure food security for everyone.
What a timely subject. End the Dark Triads.
They gave all there time and energy to Kings Queens and
GODS
that didnt exist ....
Doom. Like one battlement on Earth slowly interlocking with one battlement in the heavens
Some civilizations have collapsed due to agricultural practices and environmental changes. Read 'Topsoil and Civilization' by Carter and Dale for some of the examples from history.
Drought. Lack of food and water. Not enough to go around.
Religion
Over population. Too many "pigs in the pens". Too many pigs = excess filth, consumption of resources, depletion of resources, disease, fighting and eventual destruction. climate change occurs anyway: 'tis why the dinosaurs are extinct.
Ecology
The sound in this is so annoying! Horrible background noise (I suppose “music”) and whispering! Ugh! Really really bad.
🎶Set the controls for the heart of the sun. Witness the man who raves at the wall. Making the shape of his question to heaven. Wether the sun will fall in the evening. Will he remember the lesson of giving? Set the controls for the heart of the sun. The heart of the sun, the heart of............... 🎶
It was profound when I was 16 and stoned all the time. Now it's just hippie-apocalyptic silliness.

Cause of the next great civilisation collapse ? Donald Trump 😟
You wish
Got it backwards buddy
yes, all in the name of peace....his voters can be foolish anymore

Backwards? Civilization will collapse trump?
Nooooo. Trump is only in office for a few years, not hundreds and thousands of them. We as a species are literally shagging ourselves into extinction. If not for that we would not pollute as we do, because there would be less need and demand on resources. The fulrum has tipped off balance because there are too many people. Simple and obvious as that. If you want to point at politics, point at Xi's China.
People got tired of the bullshit
Did the Mediterranean sea go dry.yes.it did.
Plenty of fish to eat then. Lobsters and prawns, too! Lots of salt to preserve it for a "rainy day". Problem solved 😊👍👍
