It is a pity that no one remembers the Polish Army fighting in defense of France. The first Polish branches. then, under the name Polish Army in France, they began to form in September 1939 from Poles residing in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Great Britain.
In 1940, the Polish Army in total had around 85,000 soldiers. They were engaged in the fight in the second phase of the campaign, after the Germans broke the front over Somme and Aisne.
The 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade of general S. Maczek was given the task of closing the widening gap between the two retreating south 4 and the 6th Army. Panzer battleships fought under Champaubert and Montmiraia. On the night of 16-17 June, Montbard recovered briefly from a startling counterattack. The 1st Grenadier Division of General B. Ducha, constituted the backbone of the French 20th Corps - and defended the fortified section of the Saar. She fought against the main forces of the German 1st Army of General Witzleben. She fought her first fights on May 26. She then defended the Altwiller-Lening episode. Then she carried out delaying activities in the direction of Dieuze - Lagarde, where she fought hard over the Marna-Ren canal under Lagarde and under Baccarat.
The 2nd Division of Pedestrian Marksmen General Prugar-Ketling fought in the French 45th Corps, initially in the Belfort region, and then over Doubs near Maiche. On the Saône River, it shielded the corps grouping against Guderian's armored divisions.
Taken from Norway, the Independent Brigade of Podhale Riflemen by General Szyszko-Bohusz, strengthened by a combat group from the Coetquidan camp, defended the Breton Redoubt in the Rennes region. The brigade was partly broken by German armored units, and the battle group of the Coetquidan camp withdrew behind the Loire.
Polish losses in the French campaign amounted to 1,400 (other sources 4,000) killed and over 4,500 (about 5,000) wounded. During the fighting on the French front, Polish fighter pilots shot down about 50 German aircraft, and probably 5.

So I hope that if I say "I understand what you feel" you or any Polish would know it really means something coming from a Republican Spanish.

@@Bluesonofman Besides the persecution of population you'd find literally everything else in other regimes as well. Other than that, military was happy once Hitler reduced SA so for this to work you'd have to make SA into essentially late-war SS. As in: directly competing with army. At that point it would be nothing but bloodbath of elite against elite: the elite former Freikorps and their recruits, against Reichswehr/Wehrmacht made from best veterans and highly skilled newcomers. At any rate I don't see how this could go in Kaiser's favor. Unless it would be done during WWII, Hitler would be prefferable to Wilhelm in the eyes of foreign countries. It would be a bloody civil war, with involvment from other countries (they need Germany to pay their debt) eventually tipping the war into Hitler's favor.
