      Unfortunately 100 years later we have made the same mistake and instead of realizing it, we make it worse, history teaches us not to make them, but ego and victory blind us. But it's not anyone's fault either, neither ours nor theirs. nor from the leaders of today, but from everyone. It sounds contradictory, but we all in one way or another give our grain of sand that without realizing it raises the cries of war again.
      PS: yes, I'm talking about Russia. It was something similar to Germany but silently

Knowing that such a great event will be met with punishment for the participants: That's complete tragedy, as is the current practice of those engaged in war, in completely ignoring Christmas, and upping the bombing, trying to bomb Christmas out of our cultures. Christmas is beyond religion it seems. It's part of our cultures.

    • @merryrose6788
      @merryrose6788 6 дней назад

      You are right that this war changed everything. Yet, it seems human nature is not for war. Otherwise, soldiers wouldn't get PTSD. People who have not experienced war might like the idea of it, as a quick way to solve problems. But, once under fire, everyone regrets the action and is ready to go home (except perhaps the Unkillable Soldier and the few who like war). Even the Kaiser, who was doing everything he could to start a big war, he got very cold feet when the troops started moving into place, and he realized that he'd gotten into a war with two fronts: France/England and Russia. He tried to stop it, but couldn't.

    “Only the dead have seen the end of war” - Plato

    • @merryrose6788
      @merryrose6788 4 месяца назад

      I love Plato, but disagree with him. He's arguing a posteriori, looking at evidence from the past. Actually, if we avoid kings, leaders, and autocrats, we can have very peaceful, prosperous lives to pursue happiness. We can't endure any more bosses like the Kaiser, the Tsar, and George V, who thought the world was theirs to carve up the way they saw fit, and also engage in family squabbles, as they were related.
      "In the early ages of the world, according to the scripture chronology there were no kings, the
      consequence of which was there were no wars. It is the pride of kings which throws mankind into
      confusion. Holland without a king hath enjoyed more peace for this last century than any of the
      monarchical governments in Europe." Thomas Paine Common Sense 1776.
