@@priscillachapkylo934 Apple green is for the LNER not the LMS! I have to agree that she would would look great in apple green the Brunswick green that she was in before is absolute garbage it sucks!
Lovely chuffer. Reminds me of my childhood. I had a Hornby Dublo train set with real metal locos - now doesn't that show my age? -- one of which was Coronation class City of London in LMS crimson lake livery. It was a bit of a bugger, though; it had a habit of derailing round corners due to its weight and length. Happy days!
You should have made a better job of laying your track. I owned a lot of H-D as a youth and never had a derailment even running at insane speeds round train-set curves. But yes, happy days!
Would like a chance to climb up on her footplate. My uncle Percy had many 'turns' on her as top link driver for the LMS. He loved the Princess Coronation Class locos. Had even been on the footplate of them back in the 30's when they were fully streamlined.
it was mate she wore it until 2008 when it she appeared in black livery until 2011 until she turned green from 2012 to 2017 until she was back in red for this year event
My long gone boilermaker grandfather helped build these and many other locos at Crewe works. My farher was also a plumber at the works. I feel quite proud of this locomotive in a special way. Sadly my son is not interested at all!
Well Duchess of Sutherland was one of the Duchess' that was never streamlined, the only two preserved that was was Duchess of Hamilton and City of Birmingham.
I suspect this shot occurred shortly after firing up and steam was not at a very high pressure. Nothing wrong with the Caley hooter. I must say though I find the air pump a bit off-putting. Rather un-British!
Well each to their own. I personally like things being a little different and having engines with different colours than their BR ones. It can be nice to have a vision of what things would have looked like in the 30's
looks great. i liked the green, not the black. but they have really missed atrick by not completing the set and doing blue for a bit. wish theyd drop those ridiculous crowns though lol
Great Video, this looks amazing in its new livery. The detailing is incredible
Finally! ! Back to her proper colour !
Boy red truly fit engine shouldn't have painted her apple green but red rouge beautiful for sure.

I do prefer her in red. Just didn't look right to me in the green. Lovely loco

@@royfearn4345 Limited space in bedroom meant tight corners.
That looks much better! Nice hooter on the 08 too!
It does! And yes, very nice 08 horn. :)
*The Proper Job - Great choice well done.*
Would have been nice seeing her in blue, but I'm glad shes back in maroon.

im going to see it at Rowley Regis because that engine is going to Kidderminster during the autumn steam gala
Scott Whiley thought it was red last time I saw her going in to Carlisle

LMS 6233 Duchess of Sutherland re painted in her original red livery, out with her BR apple green and 4.
She beauty in red maroon color beautiful and lovely too. The color it so apple green so yesterdays Don't get wrong but red pop out .
It was never painted Apple Green that was the Livery of the LNER.she was painted Brunswick Green.
@@williamwoolhouse3702 Brunswick green sucks! It’s ugly not a good paint color!
It would be crazy if they decided to rebuild 46242 City of Glasgow
Just wow!
Not sure if I prefer her like this or streamlined now??????

@@JintySteam1 Sorry for the rather late reply, did the streamlining prove anything? it surely wasn't just a gimmick? thanks for showing
6233 Was Never Streamlined.6230-34 were the original non streamliners that Stanier Intended.
Magnificant engine - but wouldn't you think they would give it a whistle to match?
Do you not like the Stanier hooter?

Exelente video !!!!👍
Thank you very much. :)
She needs a nice footplate team coach, when out on tour with the WCT touring train
Why marked as a 7P? I thought she was 8P.
As when she was under LMS she was a 7P and when she went to BR she was reclassified as a 8P
how do u become part of the crew?
I'm sure if you looked at the Princhess Royal Class Locomotive Trust website they'll have information of how you can volunteer for them.
That Duchess is a very Big engine.
Peeeep Pip Pip Peep.
Yes, and shes very powerful. and her Whistle would be like "Pooop poop poop poooooop" like Gordon. Thanks for commenting. :)
@@JintySteam1And I really love her shiny red paintwork. Looks just as splendid as James.
Preferred her in green . . . but that's because how I remember her in the 1950s.
