- The "Odin" is one of my absolute favourites, so what if there was a similar ship, with one more turret? Well, the thing is, with German battleships, it's more about the secondaries, anyway - so, is she "worthy"?

We love you Terry keep grinding
Gg Terry! I was the Vladivostok and it's been an honor to fight against you
Oh nice! Since our DD was playing Dora the explorer, and I was asking our Hipper to take centre cap, I had to keep you and Kansas busy to allow him to get into position, and distract from our DD :)
I count myself among the people that both do not have the Odin and really wants it. Once I get my hands on an Odin, I personally feel that I would still go for the Brandenburg because I do want to feel secure that I can hold my own vs a carrier plus I am a big fan of brawling scenarios so having premium German battleships is something I would like to have.
Odin has the edge in manoeuvrability and secondaries (T10 autos and overload). Brandenburg has the edge in HP, AA and main gun attack, so she works a little better at range. Both are excellent ships. I think if there had been a bundle with the historical camo, I may have been tempted :)
Odin with its anime camo, that boosts manual and auto sexondary range and torpedo range, plus an quite easy to find Hipper captain, its the ultimate fun ship in this game. You can have a ton of fun while easily impacting your team, unlike GK, that you either have fun, or stay composed and help your team
Thank you for this video, Terry. Now I know what to do. Another German ship that fits my play style. I think there will be a 3rd Odin in port! Odin, Cross of Dorn and... Brandenburg. Three ships with slightly different play styles to enjoy. Woo-hoo!
Beyond just being fun to play the Odin is a fantastic ship to complete “secondary hits” missions. The weekly 300 secondary hits missions can be done in a just a few battles in an Odin. Mine all out secondary build and special camo. Lovely ship.
One and a half games in either Bismarck/Tirpitz/Odin or Branderburg, and those 300hit missions are out. I love that playstyle
Just bought the ship today. Can't wait to play it and the fact it goes 32 knots is nice.
Nice video and comparison with Odin. I am going to stick with Odin because it suits my play style. In the beginning of the video you stated correctly regarding secondaries which makes German BB’s.
Enjoy the day
Stu
I've got my Odin, was thinking briefly if I was going to spend $100 for this one, but ended up deciding not to. They're just too similar, and tbh, I prefer Odin's tier 10 auto-secondaries and better manoeuvrability
It’s always a thought to purchase when I see a new German cruiser or battleship. lol
I also. enjoy your hearts of iron vids, that game reminds me of the panzer general 2 game and PTO 2 game they are old games but enjoy them. Thanks again.
I've just taken the plunge on the Brandenburg today after watching your video a couple of times. What a ship! I'm getting 95k+ damage in 7 of my first 10 games. The auto secondaries are brilliant, really loving my first impressions. Thank you for the work you do!
P.s. chicken at the front really made me laugh 😂 🐔
Great vid terry! The brandenburg is a nice ship, she is no where near Odin for sure.she seems not as durable as Odin and the auto secondary fire arc's seem wonky,I think it needs a buff in armor or the guns in my opinion, the hit pool make's it seem as durable as odin.but she is prone to being citadeled.it seems it don't hit like Odin.i know the stats are same but she doesn't seem as good as odin.where she is better then in my view and playing 20 games in her is the main gun shells seem the stay on target more and the arcs are flater, but don't punch as good as Odin and she feels more nimble. In all a good ship. Thanks for the great vid and what u do for us,u always teach and inform us well.Check out the Tusla if u can she isn't a bad ship.
Now, There are a lot of premium Tier VIII German Battleships; nevertheless, I always prefer Tirpitz over others because it's real.
This ship looks very good, this looks like a ship I'd like to get at some point
I ended up with both and found myself doing them up in slightly different ways to play on teams. If my buddy pulls a carrier I opt to do the Brandenburg. The AA and HP allow me to do a AA screen for my CV or DD at the beginning plus I can push with a DD for a bit to cover it. The 305s, as you said, work decently well against enemy DDs and I like know that if I get targeted by the enemy CV, I can protect the DD and myself. Keeping the DD alive is so much easier in the Brandenburg. So i set it up with the following equipment.
1) Secondary (to brawl when needed)
2) Fire Protection (keeps me from being charcoaled as often)
3)AA (b/c it is a AA build)
This allows me to play it as i described.
If I am playing in team without a known CV, I will take the Odin. I play it as a brawler just like I do with the Scharnhorst in T7 and her Primary Role is to hunt and ruin the enemy CA/CL. I use her to eliminate any of the cruisers of the enemy and she really excels at this role. I have my Odin set up exactly the same equipment as my Brandenburg however. This allows me to gain extra range on the secondarys, i can semi maneuver well using her base figures (have to plan my maneuvers a little earlier) ,be protected from fire more but if on the chance I get a CV match, I can ensure that my decent AA can cover me a bit farther out than normal.
To me, playing them in different roles means having both is 4x the fun
I tend to play mostly random games, so my preferred setup is around multirole ships. I need something that doesn't have to rely on my team, but can take on most situations as needed.
@@FunandGameswithTerry i found this setup being really good for both random or teamed up. Knowing that you can take care of your ship in both situations works wonders for confidence in the battle.
Keep up the good work sir.
Been checking every 10 minutes lol
1800 UTC is the schedule :)
So they just gave less power on secondary in trade for aa ..disappointing but i wouldnt bother anyways 😅 if it hits me i‘d get odin or play bismarck any day over the other options in german ships
Vittòrio Vèneto. The accent in Vèneto, fall in the first e.
But your Italian accent is perfect.
Ah, thanks! I'm always happy to get hints towards the correct pronunciation.
Ive fallen in love with Brandenburg, so as someone who loves the Bismarck but doesn't have Tirpitz or Odin but really wants both now I got both she's great! I also got the Eagle Camo not anime where it increases main gun range and decreases dispersion but run a full secondary build on it
Ah, was there a special camo? I didn't see it in the camo section, but we don't always get all camos provided.
I could be wrong but I think that he's referring to the anime theme camo
@@FunandGameswithTerry yeah it's the eagle Camo so basically it's colored the colors of the German Flag.
BOTH skins have Dispersion and increased gun range. The only difference is that the eagle has better ship traverse and the anime skin has better torp protection.
I fought this thing in my Black Gascogne…and boy it wasn’t fun. I held out for a while and then got shredded by those secondires. It’s a worthy opponent, but I’ll stick to my Bismarck thank you very much
It would be so nice to have scale models of these ships but unfortunately they are just paper ships... Btw would you ever continue with "Fun and scale models with Terry"? Because I'm really looking forward for it :)
I'd love to - I actually had plans - but at the moment, house construction takes priority. It's an awful lot of paperwork to get the details right - but once that's done, this will definitely be back, I've got a stack of kits ready to go.
I was thinking, given that they were paper ships, if we could get our hands on 3d models, it might be possible to 3d print them, maybe. I have zero experience, but maybe I'll explore that one day :)
@@FunandGameswithTerry 3D printing... That sounds hell interesting perhaps you could even make you dear Odin, Roon, Hindenburg or any of those awesome looking paperships.
Which models do you have on the waiting cue?
It’s more similar to bismarck than Odin, I expected you to compare these two
True, even the text ingame say so, so why even bother comparing it with a totally different ship
Terry sou seu fã, sou da frota AN3BR gosto muito dos seus vídeos.
Obrigado, muito apreciado
I want the ship but it’s 64 dollars USD and I don’t have that money however will you get this ship
I know, T8 premium prices can be pretty steep. With all the German BBs around, I do need to do a Bismarck video again 🙂
Personally, I won't get the bundle, since I already have the Odin. Bismarck is still a good T8 BB, and free to grind.
@@FunandGameswithTerry you should make a Bismarck video
Also I got the grosser Kurfürst and it’s great though I don’t know if I want the space camo that gives buffs to the secondary guns or look more historical and use the historical camo but it does not give secondary buffs
I find my self quite disturbing about GK will be premium ship, is that true terry?
Not as far as I know. But who knows what the future brings.
@@FunandGameswithTerry thanks terry, i hope when that day come, it will come with 4x3 main battery gun 😁
First for the 4th time in a row.
I managed to get 262k damage in a respawn brandenburg 3781 EXP
IMHO. Brandenburg is sort of Tirpitz and Odin hybrid.
And I have both. But I also purchased Brandenburg because... hell, this is German BS!
