Hey Dima, in Canada we usually refer to wrenches, drills, hammers, etc. as tools. If we are talking about instruments, we would usually be talking about Musical instruments (saxaphone, flute, violin, etc.) and also Medical tools and precision tools are often called instruments. I have spent my whole life working on cars with tools and playing musical instruments, but I have never been in the medical profession, so I could be wrong.
In Spanish, both those used in automotive mechanics and those used in surgery are also called instruments, and some words such as RULETA,ESPATULA are similar. How cute is your cat, he likes mechanics.

We use russian letters Ё very seldom. All native russian speakers (i mean from Russia, Belarus and etc) know in which russian words this letter sounds like Ё. So we almost don't use this letter when we write something. Even in the books you'll meet this letter very seldom.
