I understand the control of the glide but the start up actually makes sense Player may accidentally active the glide when they don’t want to This is a open zone game that people may make mistake and fall of the a small platform because of that
I think it is a limiter for, like, if you get a ton of momentum and get to glide, it will start gliding WITH the momentum and it will be OP. Either that or idk.
@@CATaclysmOg It... doesn't work that way? He doesn't keep momentum normally. I'm assuming there's way to cheese it out because the animation is actually there to prevent just gliding super fast from the get go which would trivialize exploration. It also could be easier to do that exploit at lower frames. I'm on PC so I have it at 60 locked when I'm not using a code to have the game engine unlock its framerate cap. But Knuckles gliding using your momentum is not the intended interaction that should happen.

And you got a major point, on 30 fps it could happen very often to me but not in 60fps. That could be the thing
I like animation that transitions to the glide. My issue is that they put a delay before gilding. The delay just doesnt need to be there when i should go straight into it
Sonic is the only one of the group with an insane movepool. Everyone needs to unlock the ability to even attack. i think it makes sense since Tails, Knuckles, and Amy ARE restricted. Even Amy admits that her hammer isn't as effective in her current state. So it makes sense that they are restricted to some degree. Sage even advices Knuckles to let Sonic take care of the enemies

Knuckles was the worst designed character out of the 4, the glide delay is annoying and the glide itself controls shit, he can only climb on the red coloured cyber walls and not able to climb on cliff sides like every iteration, and he can still fly like in sonic boom like how???
I really don’t mind the actual animation of him doing that, it’s the CONTROL that’s the problem. It’s like hoisting anchor just to turn him slightly

Knuckles feels faster on ground in frontiers but the gliding pause makes him feel slowing gliding
Honestly I just want the glide attached to the sprint button so I can still control the camera. Same with Tails flight when he’s not in his mech

I haven't played the DLC yet but this does seem like an odd programming choice.

Knuckles is my favorite character and I was so disappointed when I found out how shitty his gliding is.
