This has got to be one of my favorite themes in the whole game. Too bad it only plays in one part of the Big Shell. This rivals the tanker sneaking theme
When I was a kid playing this game, this track was always stuck in my head everywhere I went idk how to explain it but my only memory is hearing this song on repeat haha
Studying spying methods to infiltrate some private army and steal their cocaine? Also it's been 4 years since your comment, have you robbed any private army cocaine?
Ragitsu The fact that we're all still listening to this 16 years later just shows how much of a masterpiece this game was. I'm proud to have been able to experience it.
i find it wild that this game was a huge part of a lot of people’s childhoods back in the day and now it’s been a really big part of mine (i think i finished it for the first time last year?) it’s really cool how some media just lasts the test of time
Takes me back to 2002 😭🥺 baseline sick! Whole soundtrack/game ahead of its time! Came out right after 9/11 also, dark but entertaining times (I was 11 playing this 😂) have a older brother that’s 5 years older
Played this game for the first time yesterday thanks to hd collection on PS3. I don't know why I never played mgs. But I'm glad I can now and enjoy them all the same.
So memorable this theme when sneaking around playing as Raiden in that section of the place in the game. Lol the theme to me sounds so much from that Theme Spin and Marty movie when the two kids are snooping around trying to find out about what those two strange couples are up too? lol. Both playing spy agents.
I wonder if this track was composed with full knowledge of the plot and themes. This is about the first track you hear when playing this section and it sounds mischievous, ominous, like a warning even. I haven't studied music, but there is that tonal disconcord. It sets the tone that something isn't right, that you're not getting the full picture. Contrast this to the Tanker Section's more straightforward spy tunes. True, in MGS1 you also don't get the full picture until later, but it is a quite straightforward infiltration and execution (of the bad guys) thriller story -- by some devious means in the way of FOXDIE. MGS1 isn't something as inherently meta and 4th wallbreaking as MGS2. Excellent composing anyhow.
there's also a jazz connection with it being set in nyc. take fortune's theme for example...or power room. crazy elusive flowy textures, you are being played as much as the music.

When I think of MGS2, this is the song I think about. It's crazy to think how little it's really used.
@@ButtonMasherReal yeah this is easily my favorite theme from MGS2 too
I tried going there as much as possible just for the music lol
Also noticed that it’s only in one area
When I was a kid playing this game, this track was always stuck in my head everywhere I went idk how to explain it but my only memory is hearing this song on repeat haha
"I'll go check the roof, I leave the first floor to you OK?"

those were the days man, just hearing this track gives me goosebumps
Sometimes I just like to come back here to remind myself how good this game was
This theme along with the arms Depot theme has always stuck with me and especially the saxophone pan flute sound

It's Kaz as CIA from The Dark Knight Rises.

WHAT A FABULOUS OST! HOW EXQUISITE!
I just wanna know who disliked this masterpiece -_-
Who? Three people that were spotted in the first area of the Big Shell.
Probably the Sons of Liberty
GW, the Colonel, and Ocelot.
The la-li-lu-le-lo
This track always reminded me of Silent Hill 3, the beginning before you meet the witch.

Sneaking in the house at night to get some cake
This is basically the theme song of ’Plant’
I do like this music in 2024
Basically Metalgear Lo-fi
why does Raiden's sneaking mission sound sexy while snake sounds manly?
Maybe because Snake is manly and Raiden is sexy?
Chacha Rubi iknr!, thinking about it makes me think of al the fan art that could be generated!
Stupid sexy Raiden!
i remember it's been old theme for Entry Point tutorial mission
