- 2023 Young Bird Racing Team progress. The birds are all flying from the table, about 40'. A few are starting to route away from the loft. Adding four new birds later this week.

Your videos are very entertaining and you're doing a great job with this group of youngsters. Love how they use the table as a staging platform regardless of how far it is from the loft.

Don't forget the bath, very important, most important to help them by cleaning themselves and help them improve their thinking. Give them what they need, they will act like warriors. Twice a week between the week, or once a week is fine.

A few are developing the habit of hitting the roof. I will get them over that. I am feeding a little too much, once I get the team together I will get them all on the same page.
Don’t stress it. Bad habits can be easily corrected with feed. How’s that old saying go “a hungry bird is a good bird”. Still I can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying this. Also have you put any thought in a feed can. I know I’ve had good luck with that especially that the wife cannot whistle so on days where she has to call them in from a race she’ll use the can. Just a thought!

You know I had the same thoughts with two I have that are way stronger and was worried they’d take some of the younger ones with them and yesterday they took two of my youngest second rounders with them and the younger ones kept up just fine. All they did was bring my stronger two back a little sooner then usual but not much.
I have had it both ways, they make it back and sometimes they don’t. Glad yours made it back!
