  • During this years of racing in Rc Rally I have modified a lot my Tamiya XV-01, transforming this Chassis in an Extreme way.
All the mods and the setting that I did allowed me to create a very competitive Rc Rally Car, that allowed me also to win a regional Rc Rally Championship.
In this video I'm going to show you everything about my modified Tamiya XV-01, I'm going to tell you how i change the Setup for onroad races and how I change it for offroad races, all the shocks setups, differential oils and so on...

    Hi Dario!
I love your channel as i love hearing from an actual RC champion, but unfortunately theres very little i can translate into my own XV-01 rc experience because:
    1) your XV-01 is highly modified, it bares little resemblance to my XV-01 and to what most people run.
    2) the tight and twisty rally courses you guys race on is very different to the open, wider and faster tracks and open spaces i run my xv on. Tight tracks make me dizzy, i get dizzy watching your races lol 🥴
Whilst i still love to watch your videos to keep up with where you are in the rally season etc, it would be great if one day you would consider starting with a stock XV-01 and showing us mortals what minimum modifications and upgrades you would make in order to maximise performance - like an XV-01 rally car on a budget. I think it would be a very popular video ☺🙏

Hi thanks for sharing your opinion.
For a stock XV-01 the first things that I would do are:
      -Front and rear CVD
      -Stabilizer set
      -New shock towers
      -Better dampers
      This should be enough

Thanks Dario for featuring your modified XV01 rally car. I'm particularly interested in the Embie Racing carbon chassis but not for rally purposes. I'm thinking of using it on tarmac and on-road racing. My only concern is that the chassis is narrow on the front and rear suspension area, particularly where the aluminum suspension mounts are bolted. I think the suspension shaft would extend further out of the chassis if I use the wider suspension mount (1A or 1D) of the XV01TC as opposed to the 1XJ used in the XV01 pro and rally version. Further research is needed

Hi, in general this kind of weight distribution improves a lot the handling of the model, especially for Rc Rally races.
You should create a customised plate in order to fit the different suspension mounts

from my understandings, the tc pro uses tamiya touring car sus mounts, so the adjustable alumi/brass sus mounts does work, with maybe a trf419 sus upgrade set(actually trf420 stuff), i this is wat i was planning to do, got all the parts, just missing this chassis

Hey, I was commenting on another video, but my post isn't showing.
I'm starting my adventure with rc rally. I have an HSP Flying Fish because I like to build cars, but it was also a cheap chassis. Currently it is rebuilt, I have a Torsen center differential. I'm curious what you think. I've designed also a new steering system and a few other modifications.
    greetings from Polish

      Cześć!
I took a look at you channel, nice videos and extremely interesting experiments.
What I can suggest you is that the most important thing during a Rc Rally it's the reliability of the car, so sometimes it's not the fastest car to win but the more durable one. I think that once the Rc Rally season is started, you'll fine out the best modification for you

@@dariorcgarage At the beginning, this car was supposed to drive little and look nice on the shelf. It turned out that where I study there are people who drive, so I have to start driving too. I know durability is important, but it's just fun and it's still much cheaper than buying xv01 :)
see you someday at the rally :D

    Hi Dario
I have a bit of a steeringproblem. Muck, snow and stuff gets in and steering hangs up. Do you think the embiechassi would nake it better? Looks more open så easy to keep things clean.

    • @dariorcgarage
      @dariorcgarage  6 месяцев назад

Definitely yes, I forgot to mention that in the video.
With this simplified steering system less things gets stuck

@@dariorcgarage That sounds good! The answer I was hoping for. Thinking of the long damper conversion as well. Is the anything more you need when convert to the embiechassi? Or it it just bolt-on ready to go?
