    The way to get the AOVs to render with proper naming conventions; you just add the render token, "RenderPass"....So you can write: __/__

      @@3dsplanchnic737 ​ 3D Splanchnic Sorry about the remark, thank you for the video it is very informative. I just had not been able to reproduce it. Somewhere between the absolute override and the material override, I messed up. I've been using Maya for 8 years, I just get frustrated when I don't instantly get something. I know I'll get it in a minute and ill post a MEL script that does this.

      @@johnstifter Thanks - I have the same problem. Render layers don't always work as predicted.

    This interface could be so much more intuitive - bad design that doesn't take the conventions seriously. Why should it be made so crazy in its setup? I understand that you must define for Maya what to do - but anyone who has done tutorials on this are always checking their render first - it says it all ... there is a lack of feedback ...
