Congratulations Elysia, Chase and Dayton on a successful Christmas Market. What a wonderful turnout and profitable day for you all. I'm sure you all shined with approachable personalities. Way to go English family. 🤟
We stay for respect of the host. I find it rude when vendors leave early no matter how much they have sold. I have ran events before so I know how much time goes into each preparation!
So admire both you and Philip on how you keep the boys involved. It sure teaches them value of people and family. Good job on the craft market. Look forward to next year also.
Thank you Elysia. My sister and I used to do flea markets. One time a woman in a neighboring stall came up to us and told us not to approach the buyer because it pressures them into buying. So we sat back and did what the woman said and sales dropped at our stall and the "helpful neighbor" started socializing with the buyers. We were duped. We went back to greeting people and sales went up again.
That's a great tip, keeping everything the same price. I know from doing shows, you definitely need to greet your customers and explain your product. Great job.
Congrats on a big success! I used to do vending shows with a special design baby blankets, unique coverlet, one of a kind bed spreads, pot holders, chabby chic decrative pillows, etc. And incorporated upcycled vintage fabrics with the new, I'd average $400. A day and only spend around 20 to 40 dollars on supplies, the site costs varied. You are correct in every tip you gave, I also hand a decorated shoe box ppl could put there name on for a free drawing at the end of the day, it would bring so many shoppers back, especially if it was a huge venue, you know how ppl don't want to lug around big items all day, it worked perfectly, I gave away 6 free items, so they didn't think they had a slim chance of winning and not come back, they were all upcycled and didn't cost me anything but a little time. I miss doing the vending shows like that. The last show I did was just paintings I created, sold quite a few, but I think I'll just create an etsy acct. As we get older, we need easier venues, lol
Hi English family ... many many congratulations on your successful craft fayre ... what fantastic memories you have made not only for yourselves but for all who purchased from you ... such beautiful treasures to have ... sending much love your way from the UK 🇬🇧 xxx
Congratulations! The boys are adorable and must be so proud at your success! I’m doing a show next weekend and I love your tips about similar prices and lower price points! You’re so sweet to share all your tips! My favorite was the ships and truck with the lobster cages. 💕
A lot of your tips are right on and as a host we appreciate those who stay the full time and don’t pack up early, means a lot to us and says a lot about the vendor as well.
While this was a great family endeavor, I also saw how your boys learned both financial and social skills! In years to come they can look back on these times and recognize what the rewards of hard work and creative invention add to their lives! Blessed and safe days!
I think that everything you said Elysia was so 100% right on and exact!!! I have what I think might be one or two great ideas! LOLOL. Can you work on ornaments for more of this winter…. Even if you need a little break. Then, have some that Chase and Dayton do mostly on their own and let them get their own table next year for like $5 ornaments (You could even do this online) and then they can work their own table next to yours. They can sell just the stuff that they made and that would be a great draw! They can sell whatever might be left over online on your site after the sale as you could. They could make their own money for college or their savings accounts. You can be on a table right next to them. They can do more simple sea themed type merchandise as could you! Or just you can do more of the difficult things like the boats and some of the other stuff that is more difficult. You could do just a few things that are more expensive than even your second to highest amount. The people that aren’t mailing them can purchase those. And if your table was on the empty side in the last half hour to an hour then the market can probably support or absorb the cost of the two tables of the things that you have to sell! Lots of possibilities and options for you guys! And if you put 2023 on the new type of sea themed (or other) things people will repeat buy as long as they are different enough. I went online and purchased some of your ornaments (4) and I will continue to buy ornaments from you next year if they are kinda different and have a year painted on them. Even different colors. I should have been a business major instead of a nurse (just kidding), but I even have more ideas unless I told you them all. But an extra $900 or $1000 plus for your barn and corral and food and anything else for your horses is really a lot of money!!! Just think of what a vet costs! Anyways, no matter what you decide, I wish you and your family all the best! You might want to have a family round table to discuss it! LOLOL. Have a wonderful week!!! I typed the above with a minute or two left and you have already thought of some of the stuff that I put on here. Great minds…. lol just kidding!
I’m so glad you guys did well at your craft show. Your families joy and love is very obvious and I know your smiles drew everyone in to your table. Congratulations.
Congrats! Great success and well done knowing what drives sales. My best markets were always those where I had lots of ornaments and stocking stuffer items, along with a few specialty gift or decor items at a higher price point. So wonderful to see the boys so engaged in creating and selling! They were clearly enjoying themselves. Fantastic project.
Congratulations!!!! The idea you had to start early for the craft fair will be very beneficial! And if you sell seasonal items on your website as well will be amazing for us that live far away lol I ordered the polar bear!!!
I am so happy you did so well. I knew you would. This was fun to see the boys so thrilled too! I am excited for the site to order things. You are one of the first diyers I found and I absolutely loved watching you create from recycled things you found in the dump and such! I will look forward to more things on your site! Blessings to your family-Tammy
The old sea captain carvings were phenomenal. Love the pictures framed in driftwood, I think. Everything is so different than the West Coast craft fairs. You did so well, good for you guys.
Brilliant result, Elysia. I had no doubt whatsoever that you would absolutely rock the show. Congratulations. And thank you for the tour of the other stalls. It really stood out to me that almost all vendors reflected the location (i.e. Nova Scotia) in their offerings. It really warmed my heart to see how enthusiastically the public supports makers and crafters in your community. Can’t wait to see what you will produce for your new website shop! Love from Ireland!
Congratulations English family. Now all the animals and people can settled back into the everyday living at the English cottage. Love you. Hello from Fla.
Woohoo to you guys!!👏🎉 What a great day! Super excited for you all! Congratulations!! Thank you for taking us along & sharing!! Always rooting you on!!💕
Congratulations, Elysia, Chase and Dayton! What a super day you all had! The items were all were all fantastic and the table looked great! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧💕😊
I love your set up too! Crates a good idea and a way to hide your needed things, money box etc. behind them! Entire fair is great! Love seeing a different regions craft items!
Congratulations Elysia and boys ,what memories you have made, your creativity is brilliant, and it shows that if you put love and positivity you can achieve anything, good luck with your next project, can't wait to see those beautiful horses, love to you all 🤘🤘🤘♥️♥️♥️xxx
Great show and excellent profit Elysia. All your hard work really paid off and of course all of your items were beautiful. Its so nice to see your boys enjoying themselves while helping out. I loved this and always enjoy watching the English family at work and at play.
I just love you and your family. I have renewed faith in the future for my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bless you all and happy holidays.
Oh my goodness! My pocketbook is flowing. So many good items. 💜 Looks like a waited for day from many locals. The Blue Heron is beautiful 😍 I'm so tickled you did so well. Now is the time you need to make notes of what sold for you and others, if it's something you can incorporate into the future. If you had any seahorses left I would be interested in. I was raised in a small town in Massachusetts that had a seahorse as a town mascot 💜
Great Job! Looked like a big crowd showed up to shop. So fun to see the boys having a BLAST! I know they're already thinking about next year's market. Such a wonderful way to teach them how to be entrepreneurs! Love how you & Philip are raising your sons.❤
Congratulations Elysia, Chase and Dayton on a successful Christmas Market. What a wonderful turnout and profitable day for you all. I'm sure you all shined with approachable personalities. Way to go English family. 🤟
What a great thing to do with the boys . I noticed each vendor had their own style . I loved watching this . Good Job !
Yes they do:) It was a lovely display there
I’m so happy that you did so well, and had fun doing it! The boys are getting an education in business too! Way to go, Mom!
Glad you had such a successful sale, you do beautiful work
Glad to hear you say to stay until the show ends. I have made some reallygood sales in the last few minutes. Glad you did well.
We stay for respect of the host. I find it rude when vendors leave early no matter how much they have sold. I have ran events before so I know how much time goes into each preparation!
Congratulations.
Boys are growing up so much, they are so sweet and oh so cute.
So admire both you and Philip on how you keep the boys involved. It sure teaches them value of people and family. Good job on the craft market. Look forward to next year also.
So proud of the boys and you of course. You have a real talent with people and your art.. ❤❤❤❤
Can’t believe how your boys have grown. They are so handsome, poised and mature.
