What a great gift idea! I think you could also wrap a blank journal and tuck in similar items - flags, bookmarks, marker, pen, stickers, ephemera, etc. I don't do craft fairs, but I'm definitely using this idea for Xmas gifts this year. Thanks for such a great video! Hugs, Kris
Amber, thank you so much for sharing this great video! I made 14 books modeled like yours and I sold 10 at a craft show today, . My customers loved them! I sold them at $12 each or 2 for $20. Did very well. Had a few young girls ( 8-10 year olds) that like them but unfortunately my books were geared for adults. So, I’m making some for younger people and calling them “ Undercover Books” for my Nov. 9 th craft show. Again, Amber, thank you again for the great video about these books!
I love this! As an avid book reader this makes me so happy to see you using 'real' books! Great concept and what an amazing presentation. Love, love. love it! Yes I will be trying my own version...I have so many beautiful books that are duplicates I have gotten over the years...now I know what I can do with them!! You and your sister are always so clever and it is so fun to see what you do next. Keep it coming!
i love the blind date with a book concept, I have bought many off etsy for myself and my kids. The average price for a hard cover was 25$ and the children’s book range from 10 - 15$
Thanks for sharing this, Amber! I saw these in a gift shop just yesterday. I am going to make one for my friend who will be in the hospital for surgery and rehab following. I know she will love it and it will lift her spirits.
I love this project what a great idea. I love to read, at least 1 book a week. I usually donate my books afterwards. Now I can use your project to make somebody happy. Thank you
I’m half way in this video and already need to comment, this is such a neat idea. You’re truly the best Amber. I’ve not done a craft fair I come to you for inspiration and gift ideas and you knock it out of the park! ❤
I absolutely love this. I have daughters, granddaughters and friends that love to read. This is perfect for gift giving and can be personalized too. Thank you ❤.
Love this idea! I think I will attempt to make this for our Women's Ministry Group with faith books and or journals. Thank you for the process video and amazing tips.
Very cute. ❤ Im sure they will sell well for you. I love the idea of using lightly used books. Loved by someone and can be loved by someone else. I love them, but I think this is one of those times where less is more. I think it has so much going on that you can't appreciate the work you put into them. I think a bookmark, the pen/highlighter, and maybe the floral element would be enogh. Simple and cute at the same time. Im looking at it, and my eyes dont know what to focus on. I dont even know if I would add the tea. Im like you. I tend to overdo things. I dont know when enough is enough lol. Still lovely though.
Hi Linda! I appreciate your feedback. We are actually going for eclectic, scrappy, and fun! So we liked adding all the things and it means when this is received as a gift, the person will have almost never ending goodies to pull out and enjoy. Thank you so much for watching!
@lyriclovercrafts I understand. They are lovely. It's a little too much for me, but it's still a wonderful project, though. Love your channel! Best of luck with your craft fair. 🩷
You did a great job. I’ve been selling mine from 16.00 to 24.00 depending on book and kids books around 12.00. I think you could get a lot more they are beautiful
I never saw a Book Blind Date before and it's so cute! I'm so glad that some of the books are pre-loved from your own stash or are used books from good places like Friends of the Library.
These were so beautiful! I have a friend who sold these at her booth at the county fair and did very well. She did not decorate them nearly as beautiful as yours. Thank you.
I like this idea so much! This is the first time I've heard of blind date with a book. Thing is, I just bought a book last week for my son's birthday coming up, but wasn't sure how I wanted to wrap it. Now I know! I'll make it less frilly and tuck in some of his favorite candies and teas. Thank you so much!!
This is a great idea but in my opinion $12 isn't enough for this item. Depending on how much the book cost would be a big factor. When I create a new item for my craft fairs I always use a cost calculator to see exactly what I have invested in an item including time. I priced out all the items you listed except for the lavender bunch, twine and seam binding. Assuming you purchased the book at $ Tree and everything you have added your cost for these would be around $8.30. To sell them for $12 or 2/$20 do you feel you will make enough on these? Maybe $14 or 2/$24 is a better target. Don't undersell yourself you do great work on these items.
This is timely. I was planning on sending my sister a book (NOW I SEA by Jenny L. Cote) that I'm currently reading. This idea will make it extra special for her. I'll add "sea themed" ephemera to the cover. Thanks! Amber.
I’ve been wanting to learn how to do this type of gift wrapping for some time, and you are the first one to do a tutorial that easily explains and demonstrate how to do this. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us how to do this. I love how you make tutorials that are easy to follow.😊🥰💝
These are incredible Amber! Reading the comments has given me even more ideas - cookbooks, journals, etc. I can’t wait to make these for Christmas! Thank you for sharing your awesome talent.
oh I love this idea and l will buy Christmas books/novels and add Christmas candy etc for decor and give as gifts for friends and family this year - THANK YOU SO MUCH
I just purchased 3 of these from a friend's daughter to support her activities. I loved it. I gifted two of them, and the recipients were delighted. Good luck!
Such a fabulous idea Amber! You did an amazing job demonstrating this on camera with all the neat folds. So beautifully decorated. Thanks for the inspiration! 😍🧡
Everything you do is sooo creative, pretty, adorable and practical! Thank you so much for sharing your super great ideas! You are a natural born teacher and artist.
So cute! I love these. I agree with everyone that they are probably priced too low, but a lot of people are short on cash these days so I think they will easily sell at this price. Thanks for sharing!!!
Hugs, Kris
Great idea! I want to do that too! ❤️❤️❤️

Oh my goodness. Such a fun fun gift and craft fair idea. You could make adult and kid theme. A great way to get kids reading again.
I think it could be cute to have a bin or basket with some that are holiday themed for 4th quarter craft shows, too.
What a fun way to gift a book! Great ideas! 😊

What did you charge for them?
And can you post a picture of your presentation how you displayed them?
You did a great job. I’ve been selling mine from 16.00 to 24.00 depending on book and kids books around 12.00. I think you could get a lot more they are beautiful
