Nobody would listen....
I could sit and listen to this man all day, everyday.
These men have so many stories to tell , that I would sit and listen. I wish I still had my grandfather fought in the ETO during the war was here to tell his story.
Honor Respect
I’m so proud this man shares the same earth as me
I would listen and so would my teenager.
I was given my most precious gift by you & millions more like you - thank you for my freedom! I listen.
God bless.
I too could sit and listen to this man as long as he wanted me to.
I appreciate you sir.
I’d listen to him tell me every story he can remember without guys like him our country would be in shambles…much respect to u sir 💯🫡
Thank you !
Their courage is continuous, and it breaks my heart that these brave men and women have to continue to be so brave long after they have served. Thank you.
I'd be honored to listen to him or any vet that wanted to talk. It truly is sad that no one wants to listen to real history from the men an women that was there and the pain and suffering they endure then and now this nation has forgotten its warriors and the sacrifices they made it truly is heart breaking
Thank you
This video should be viewed more
I would be honored to hear their stories.

Many before did not have the Web or cell phones with this spoiled instant gratification that has quickly turned so many into selfish souls with no patriotic spirit at all & view those who have love of country & flag as fools. I hold gratitude to those altered by horrors of war but, came home to suffer mentally. The wounded. Even researcher's & scientist's who work for their country but, not militarized. I was a submariner. Risky but, safe, stable duty. It seems people are massing to scorn & mock all who feel kin to this country. Hail to the "Greatest Generation." Without their efforts we would be all speaking Nazi.
I cant say thankyou for your service because these heroes like u deserve more than a thank you. It is becuz of soldiers like u that we sleep peacefully at night.
Honour and respect is deserved by soldiers. Thank you sir. Long live USA
I’m tearing up just reading the wonderful comments and I sincerely thank you Guys for the kind words towards this amazing Warrior.... Semper Fidelis to you all.
Our pleasure!
We love you always as long as we live .God bless usa.
As an Army brat (1950s and 1960s) right after I learned to walk my dad taught me how to mix cocktails and never pour less than a double shot so I had the best damn history books sitting in front of me. WW2 to Vietnam, US, UK, ROKs, Turks, SF, Infantry, Armor, MI, priceless learning. Then I served right after Vietnam. There was no “Thank you for your service” then just as there wasn’t since WW2. Didn’t expect it, didn’t want it, still don’t. It was and remains a privilege. I see some military traveling through airports I slip up to the manager, pay their tab, and tell the manager to say “Some vet” did it.
As a Viet Nam veteran, I didn't hear, "Thank you for your service," till years later. Some of my fellow Viet Nam veteran brothers and sisters were not treated so nice. I didn't have that problem. But, it was a bit awkward for me the first few times people thanked me for my service. I didn't know what to say. After giving it a great deal of thought, I came up with the reply I still use today, "It was an honor."
Thank you for sharing your thought and experience Jim and for giving of your life and time in service to our country.
Sir thank you for your service. As a veteran myself I salute you sir.
Words can’t describe what those veterans went through. We should bow down and worship the ground they walk on because they fought for it and won it for all future generations of Americans to come. RESPECT THOSE WHO SERVED TO GIVE YOU WHAT YOU HAVE TODAY.
no that would take those who believe in god where it says not idol anyone or praise someone whose not me basically many people would have been hung for that faith and belief
Ceo bless your cotton socks for your Service.
Never have so many owed a debt of Gratitude for their Service and Sacrifice.
Brave beyond words.

Because of how I grew up, I thought it was normal to listen to the Older Generations tell their stories. There's a lot of knowledge rotting away inside of Veterans Hospitals, memories that will be lost to time. These folks are simply dismissed and shoved away to be forgotten, they appreciate visitors and exchange of dialogue. There's a lot to be learned from these folks, stuff textbooks don't cover.
Growing up, I had several Centurions to interact with. I remember being at family gatherings with my Great Grandfather, Great Grand Mother, and Great Aunt's... listening to them tell stories. I once reflected on the fact that my Great Grandfather was a child when the Wight Bros took to flight and an Old Man when the Space Shuttle was launched. I had family on both sides of WWII, the perspective of those conflicting existences provided some interesting and thought provoking stories.
I don't know why. These guys are a treasure trove of knowledge, wisdom, and amazing stories. I would sit and listen all damn day. How can you get bored?
My Dad was in the second world war was a light horseman who went to kokako was one of the few who came back home alive, Dad never talked much about the war but when we would sit down and have a few beers together Dad would open up to me and the stories that he told omg the men and woman went through hell and back for our Country and what they put up with, now its all been sold off and run by greedy assholes who don't give one shit about Australia or its people, never forget what these men and woman gave up to give you what you have today Rest in peace Dad
Sir I would love to sit all day and talk to you and listen. I appreciate the burdens of war that you and all who served carry for us everyday. Thank you for what you have done for us.
I remember sir.
You veterans always carry the greatest story between war and being alive I listens salute.🙏💕
just give me a cup of Coffee and i would happily listen to his story
Give the vet a cup of coffee. Or a home.
We must preserve their stories these veterans are living history, they were there .most combat vets don't want to talk about it. Only another vet would understand.
I am always tempted to respond to people when they say that to me by asking "What exactly are you thanking me for ?" Guess it is time to wander by a VA hospital or home .
For all those who served or are serving in the US military, I want to thank you for your service. And I want to appreciate for what you do for our country or did for our country. You have protected us from day 1, and I'm very thankful for that every day. You keep meals on our tables so we don't starve to death.
If you want to thank us stop voting for warmongering politicians that send kids to die in third world shitholes.
That was beautiful! Thank you for persevering to share this with us! I am looking forward to your film, Godspeed and God bless!
Thank you for watching Daniel, and be on the look out for more videos like this coming in the next few days!
I'd listen. I'd love to hear your history.
I use to listen to a few Vet stories.
My grandpa in WW2, my parents friends who made it home from Viet Nam, my martial arts instructor that was also a Viet Nam vet, Navy Seal.
The stories they told stick with me today.
As a Native American, I was told not to trust the white man.
By Veterans, I was told not to trust the government.
By Father, He said trust in no man.
Peoples ignorance has brought us to the doorstep of tomorrows violence.
RIP all Veterans
✌N ❤
Know GOD ~ Know Truth
Know GOD ~ No Fear
Peace & Love to All
I love listening to your stories I used to have a veteran that shared his stories with me all the time and he was really friendly till he died of old age but thank you for your service
I would love to interview him. Can someone connect me with him? He is a hero for me as my grandfather, a fellow WW2 veteran was.
Salute'
I wish I could sit down with a veteran and hear there story because I appreciate what they did to protect the United States thats why i joined the Navy to protect it but got a medical discharge after only being in a month and if I could redo it I would.
I have heard "Thank you for your service" as if they were saying "have a nice day". Courtesy without sincerity.
Every vet has there own time,s in hell ,no I would rather not hear thank you for your service,I go by a park and see kids playing I get home and see my flag ,that,s all I need !😂😂😂😂❤
You made American you aremy hero
I don't like it when people say thank you for your service. It is awkward and strange.
Boy, something you don't think about...
I never say "Thank you for your service" because it is uber-cliche, and therefore no matter how sincere you may be in your heart as you say it, it comes across as insincere/robotic. And I also believe most veterans would agree with that. I'd much rather ask them questions about their time in the military instead.
if he wants 2 min of your time you give him 20(or more)
Seems the guy was right. Where's his story? He said no one listens more than 2 minutes. This video: 1:52
The longer part of his story is in our film The Girl Who Wore Freedom. You can see it through any one of our upcoming festivals. You'll find those details here: www.thegirlwhoworefreedom.com/festivals
Icry went people don't listen
"Take the time to listen to their stories"? You were talking OVER his stories for like half the video.
