Wow two capital ships sunk! The Brits were a little over confident leaving them unprotected like that. Churchill probably swallowed his cigar whole when he got the news. Heads will roll for sure! Now if you can only manage to escape to add insult to the injury. Great story telling!
I just accepted this mission in my career, set out from harbor, saved and then quit the game to open RUclips and look who just posted. Looks like I am gonna take some notes and make a plan while learning from the best.
Imagine beeing the news deliverer to Churchill: "My Lord, there has been another german sub raid at Scapa Flow and we lost two capital... oooh" and just getting force choked Vader style by Churchill. That's how I imagine this conversation 😂
What a cliffhanger. Given your war record and the capabilities of your crew it amazes me that BDU does not break protocol and just give you a type 7. They are wasting a key resource. Imagine what you could do on a longer patrol.
He's been talking about whether to start a new campaign with more mods, probably why he's using the Type II, to see how long the Brits let him get away with it lol
I sunk both on the Scapa Flow mission got caught up on the sub net and 6 destroyers started hunting me and two planes. Had to sit on the bottom for 12 hours.
The nice thing about the Nelson class is that it's _really_ easy to ID. You're not going to confuse a Nelson's silhouette for anything else anytime soon :D.
I think i speak for us all..... "of course we enjoyed it" God dam.........all targets hit, excellent work carried out by the crew, amazing the torpedoes didn't hit any nets or mines & made their target...brilliant wolfpack..!
Besides the usual FX in games like this when a ship gets torped, I'm really enjoying the sky glow on the horizon where the battlewagon and carrier are burning. What a sight that would be in a real-life scenario.
@@Kaiser_Kenny that's been the standout thing for me too! @@coeng.5714 Ig that works to but looking at it with the dates U-47 has already done it and i if i remember the video properly it says something along the lines of again or that

Oh my! HMS Nelson was later involved in hunting the Bismarck and so was the Aircraft Carrier as well! I think that you have just altered history! What a coincidence to see this video just after I quit playing Uboat, I have a type ii career too. Thanks, I guess, for roping me into this just like sh3. Do not freaking tempt me to do this mission myself.
Apart from ordering your crew to do stuff and some interface changes, this game is the same as Silent Hunter 2. Even the net is in the same place at Scapa Flow.
Managed to do this mission on 100% realism. To add insult to injury, I managed to give potatoes to every lifeboat from the carrier. There was 16 of them or more, the list of lifeboats was so long in the "Wreckage" screen I couldn't see them all and it didn't scroll down. Understandable though if the devs didn't take into consideration someone might actually do that, heh.
They'd probably be very grateful to get exotic fruit at all. In real life, it was an extremely rare commodity to see in the shops, if at all during the war-time rationing period.
I always look forward to these episodes. Very interesting stuff. Now they need to make a u-boat sim, but world war 1, and you need to crank every valve and handle by yourself 💀

Clean entry, marksmanship on point! I bid you good tidings in making a clear escape. I see you're using stabilized scope view, would you also happen to have the bug where skipper looks away while you operate the TDC?
can't imagine what kind of court marshall awaits the commander in charge of defending the base lol BB and CVL sunk by one single uboat that roamed freely inside their own house
Excellent work, but you took WAY too long firing the torpedoes. But I guess we'll see if that was to your detriment in the next video. Best of luck to U-137...at least you probably made ol' Windbag Winnie crap himself in frustration when he heard about the SECOND attack on his main naval base! 😂😂😂
Your videos have been super helpful. Where do you get your background knowledge; you seem to have a wealth of insight on Uboat warfare. I am currently reading "Hitlers Uboat War" series. Any other books you'd recommend?
Excellet work, Herr Kaleun! 👍When I was doing this mission, I did a capital mistake using one of my torpedoes on merchant met on the way and because of some kind of bug I had to use all remaining eels on Royal Oak only - it happened to me also in older version, some time before: if the ship sits in shallow waters, it does not count as confirmed kill sometimes, even if you see it mostly under water or tipped on the side in the water, both sure kills. 😥 Quick question - guess you are on full release version, do your achievements work when you are using these mods...?
In fact prien never made it to scapa in this alternate Version of history. In my run i got the oak down to 2% with torps and blasted her with the AA gun, while taking cover from fire from the carrier at the same time. Got to sink the carrier as well after that.
I never knew you could board an enemy ship? I've only ever been given the option to board when it is a neutral ship... How do you do it with an enemy ship, so many times in out of torpedos and I can't sink a freighter, they just constantly zig zag when I get near and no option comes up to board. Do you have to stay undetected?
I'm not sure if he's just roleplaying but _in the game_ the "historical" attack on Scapa Flow did not happen. This mission _is_ the "historical" mission. You are the FIRST submarine to embarrass the British. That's why it's not well defended. If this attack had happened before, the defenses would be higher.
i got the game like 3 days ago, why when im firing torpedos do they go the wrong way even though i lock on and stuff and put the info into the torpedo panel😂 my torpedo will just release then turn off to a random direction to never be seen again🤣
