    GREAT video. An actual representation of the work. Once a big school like Harvard announces Client success is the next big thing (like they did with data science), people will start flooding to this profession and watch videos like these. Thanks for making it the real deal!

      Hey Athi & Refactored, I am about to give interview for a customer success engineer role for a product company. As a technical engineer, it is very hard to understand what kind of role it is and how will be the growth, once we enter into roles. Can you please connect with me and help me in clarifying. Thank you.

    I think you should maybe take out the clip of you going for a walk from your house for safety purposes. Or take out the beginning and end of the walk. It's really detailed about where you live.

    Awesome video. I have a question how much tech experience do jobs require for this role or can you get hired and the job will offer you full training to be able to do the job? Im currently studying html5, css3, and javascript

    • @DataSlayerMedia
      @DataSlayerMedia  2 года назад +3

      In theory you don't need any formal experience but you will need to showcase and prove your technical chops in a screener. So you will want to know the technical landscape around the job your applying for as much as possible.

    Great content! I am curious to hear what you would recommend for someone starting out with the hopes to becoming a CSE? I have a networking background, and a foundational base of coding (python, HTML, CSS, AWS). Would you recommend boot camps? Online resources...your input would be greatly apprecaited! Thanks again!

      You're probably already equipped on the technical side, you would just need to convey your professionalism in representing a software product among a book of clients, which really isn't a big deal. Book a calendly call with me if you want to discuss!

    Thanks for the video! I was contacted by a recruiter for a Software Engineer Customer Success role. I'm assuming the position is the same. I have my BS in Software Dev and had a customer success role before so they think i'm perfect for the role. I've been trying to find information on it as I never heard of it. This video was helpful so thank you. Question, do you have to sell or suggest add-on services for your clients?

    • @DataSlayerMedia
      @DataSlayerMedia  2 года назад +4

      No, typically the customer success engineer role carries no quota/sales/ or upsell responsibilities. Which is nice :)

    This is very atypical and so unlike a customer success manager. Like you mentioned in this video, yours is a customer success engineer. I think you should rename the video from CSM to Customer success engineer. CSM is a totally non technical role. This is not what a CSM does, troubleshooting tech issues on a client environment.

    Is this role interchangeable with Sales Engineer? I’ve seen google start to use customer engineer as a replacement for the title sales engineer

    • @DataSlayerMedia
      @DataSlayerMedia  2 года назад

      No, sales engineer is pre-sale. You would likely carry quota and be part of the sales org. Customer success is post sales.

    I am a technical support specialist/computer support specialist. I have a great deal with customer facing helpdesk and basic to intermediate level technical support. I am looking to upgrade my career, but I don't have the coding knowledge that you have. In fact, I've never done coding. I've always wanted to learn, but would this prevent me from being a good candidate in your opinion?
