I wish that more of our priests would preach/teach about living a moral life. I have one question regarding catechumens because we are getting more catechumens in our Church than we ever did. Why don't the catechumens have to leave at the beginning of the Litany of the Faithful during the Divine Liturgy when the litany clearly states the following: "All catechumens depart. Catechumens depart. All catechumens depart. Let no catechumen remain, but only the faithful."? Wouldn't a new catechumen be confused and wonder that if the instruction to leave is "just there" and meaningless today, what other things are "just there" and meaningless today? I personally think that it would be more beneficial and impactful for the catechumens to depart, leaving them to long for the fullness of the Divine Liturgy and the Holy Mysteries. We are not following in a legalistic manner. There is always Mercy and Forgiveness. “The letter kills, the spirit give life” (2 Corinthians 3:6) To ignore God’s Law outright is just pure rebellion. Christ says if you love Me, you follow my commandments.

How are following all these moral rules not the same things the Pharisees were doing?
