I saw a video that pointed out when Kendrick says “you’re not a colleague you’re a colonizer” and they scurry off. They are imitating a “cake walk” from slavery days when those enslaved would be made to dance and the winner would get a prize of cake. Man I can’t thank you enough for your breakdowns. I always loved listening to older hip hop, and grew up on Eminem and always loved his music. But your videos have given me a much bigger appreciation for rap and lyricism. Now when I listen to a song I’m trying to catch the bars, gotta catch ‘em all, thank you for all you do and helping people like me really get into and respect the culture.

The song has been out for only two months, all hit songs have a longer shelf like that especially if it’s contender for song of the summer. People saying it’s played out are being disingenuous. It’s everywhere you can’t contain it.
