You father is right. This is better than no vaseline as the song has reached international levels, has discredited his opponent, has united the gangs and best of all a bop for the west coast. Kendrick took it further than the beef.
Yeah but the internet and TikTok’s and Apple Music and Spotify made this fly so much farther. I get what he’s sayin when he said this song did more and went farther in a month than No Vaseline. Also gotta look at the streaming and videos we didn’t have back in the day.
I’m a 45 white woman from the farm in Iowa and I even picked up on all the messages and double and triple entendres in this video. Why does the caged bird sing? Cause they can’t see the BARS! Damn…..kdot is something else
Yes he is. His entendres game is unmatched. Both lyrical and visual. The pushups ended on the count of 17 which is Drake's age limit and Kdot won 17 Grammys. the hopscotch dance right at the A minor verse. The shipping crates= trafficking but also shipping back to Canada. The red and blue outfits of the dancers represents unity in Cali. They even have the gang type scarfs on as a belt with the red & blue tied together in a knot. The video is 5:55 long. Drake wore triple 5s on his shirt through out his kid show Degrassi. It just goes on and on.
I agree with Pop! No vaseline and Hit em up only targeted their target(s). Not likeus hit the target and is relatable and applicable to so many areas and aspects of life.
Especially the Education part of our History because believe it or not some people don't know about colonization...this is the reason why there are more YT people who control the majority of this country and others ...passed down wealth from their ancestors colonizing
Maybe that’s why Ice Cube randomly popped his head out recently saying “we all know no Vaseline is the best diss track, right?”. 😂 Even OG rappers need to understand that hip hop is a nonstop opportunity to yank the crown. Some rappers put out something insane and go “that’s all, nobody will top this, ever” as if they have any say in the matter. (Not that I don’t still like No Vaseline but…it ain’t untouchable and it certainly ain’t the best as of today)
I'm from the 80/90s.. but those beefs were self gratifying...KDot is actually speaking for the culture . That's what makes it perfect. This song hit so many relevant points...I used to say Hit Em Up, but it's actually this song..❤.
Double symbolism. That too, but since the owl is a known representation of the label Ovo, Drakes label, it also means "you're in My cage. You might be the Colonizer, but I Own you, bish".
I don't know how old Josh is, probably a little older than me, but I'm 19 and I'm on Dad's side with this. Not Like Us actually got me into hip hop, prior to that I was completely uninterested. But listening to a lot of songs recently and Kdot is still the peak. He's probably one of the best artists I've heard in years from a writing standpoint, not just rappers. His storytelling and his impact on the culture, even beyond hip hop, is undeniable. Hit Em Up, No Vaseline, and basically every other diss track is about taking down somebody, but Kendrick ain't about that. He said that in The Heart Part 2. It's him vs the industry and every other bad actor
I've been noticing that there's a divide in who thinks that is what he's saying. Those of us who grew up in and around the heart of Los Angeles tend to agree about the Amber Alert theory, everyone else thinks we're reaching. My husband and I both independently came to the same conclusion of Amber Alert despite an age gap and technically falling into separate generations (12 years, he's GenX and I'm a Millennial). Throughout this whole beef/rap battle there have been some really random things that have stood out to each of us that have meant the same thing. The most bizarre example was the very very end of Childish Gambino's song Yoshinoya that says "you've never heard of Chaka Khan?" I grew up listening to her music in the ghetto thrift stores but it would be a massive giveaway that someone is most definitely "not like us" like a middle class Canadian child actor like Drake... And being a child actor wouldn't be an excuse because I was one too lol. It's just that things like that can't be faked. I'm sure there's an arsenal of things he experienced in his childhood that would be confusing to both my husband and I, but it comes down to being true to yourself. Anyways TLDR: my husband and I agree it's to draw attention to Amber Alerts and I'm happy to hear out anyone who disagrees but the "lamps" as the second part of the word is not valid to me. I feel like that's hinting to us having to be home when the lamps outside came on and if we didn't then they might have to put out an Amber Alert to find us.

Not Like Us is more than a diss, it's a cultural shift. No Vaseline (a classic) is just a diss that hit hard but didn't wake up the masses outside of Hip Hop. Not Like Us is a wake up call to look at one's character and how they move in the world representing the culture as a whole. The impact is massive globally. That's why there's so much discourse about Kendrick's intent with it. Big difference.

It's the impact Not Like Us has. This is still hitting throughout the entire world. It's an anthem for the people. This video is cinema. Kendrick is the KING of triple entendre. He didn't merely mispronounce ambulance, he was again referencing 3 things, the third you may have missed is amber lamps. There was an epic bus fight in Oakland where an old "bearded" white man got beat down by a black man. Camron wrote a hip hop song about it called Bring da Amber lamps. Amber lamps (amber lights) also mean proceed with caution, and also Amber is the name of the alert for abducted or missing minors. The unknown white female adding flame to the fight was also given the name "Amber Lamps" and became the subject and title of a song by a different artist. Leave it up to a Pulitzer prize winner to create the greatest diss track of all times I wouldn't expect any less....Props to No Vasleine, but you don't need Vaseline for cerebral penetration, which this diss track certainly achieved. This is 100% the greatest diss song. In ever aspect. Replay value . Video. Meaning. Content. troll value. unity of culture. and straight disssssssssing the opponent.
Kendrick is the "One." I just turned 40 and live in Cali. I've seen a lot. Kendrick literally destroyed a white supremacist cos playing as a black American rapper who knows the culture. Greatest take down ever.
Euphoria hit him so hard but Meet the Grahams killed him. I really can't say which one was better because they both did what they were supposed to do. I also feel that both those songs were better than not like us but that mustard beat is undeniable.
I just want to say I’ve been on your videos hard lately. You two together brings the pov from two different generations and I love how you both are there helping catch things the other may have missed. I love the humbleness and how you’re always reminding people to stay kind and not only be respectful but peaceful to one another as well. Mad respect to you both and keep doing what y’all are doing
Hip Hop started as a revolution but those who dont respect it for what it truely is tainted it by watering it down to meaningless gain. Hip Hop has a voice and a soul but in the hand of some people they allowed other who dont understand it, take their voice and soul that was supposed to be used to uplift hearts minds soul and spirit from oppression especially for the black community. This is how you help the community elevate in togetherness❤Black and proud❤Black Pride❤Lift each other up❤
I always dig you two reacting to songs and videos. I appreciate your appreciation of Kendrick’s powerful gathering of various sets on the pop out concert stage and getting them together for this video shoot. Yes this is the greatest diss record ever. I’ve heard them all. From Kool Moe Dee to Busy Bee, From Boogie Down Productions to MC Shan, to that whole Roxanne Roxanne era. (OMG!!) to Ice Cube to NWA, LL Cool J to Kool Moe Dee, Canibus, & Ice T, Pac to Biggie, Jay Z to Nas, 50 Cent to Ja Rule. This is the greatest diss track ever. The double entendre and trying to figure out each bar. “No Vaseline” was great. The problem was Ice Cube as the writer for NWA. They couldn’t respond. He wrote their rhymes. Think about this…. other than “How You Like Me Now” by Kool Moe Dee and Party Up (Up In Here) by DMX. There really hasn’t been any CLUB BANGAS diss tracks. Oh yeah and “Wanksta”. Drake needs to let this one go and accept the “L”. I don’t woo e his ego will allow him to accept this “lyrical azz whoopin”. There are so many subliminal and direct jabs at Drake. The cool this was how Kendrick shared his platform with DJ Mustard at this level. That intro track sample sounds like “the bass line from “When I Hear Music” by Debbie Deb. That track is a HOT TRACK. The coolest thing was Whitney (Kendrick’s Queen) B-Walking in an old school house with a ceiling fan. (He a fan he a fan he a fan). Glad you noticed that plastic runner, and plastic wrapped couch, the wooden spoon and fork on the wall. This music video is a MASTERPIECE. If you watch it again you will see so many things that you initially missed. This video was perfectly written, edited, and executed. Ai all appreciate you cell phone ringtone at 6:28. THAT’S DC GO GO That’s the Godfather Of Go Go Chuck Brown ringtone. Chuck is the one who gave me the name GOGO GODSON (RIP POPS) go to my other page and check out my song “RIDE THE FUNKY GO GO HORSE WIT ME” Drake may be facing criminal charges in the near future for all the things Kendrick has said and has stood on in quite a few songs. pay attention I enjoy your Father and Son Bond. #UNBREAKABLE 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾 Great reaction video!!
This has to be the first video I see pops so excited he's actually asking Josh to pause! The Kendrick effect!!! Hahaha 😂❤ Just playing y'all, but seriously you two are the best. Appreciate this channel. Pls keep up the amazing work! 🔥
That sample in the snippet from the beginning is “Debbie Deb - When I hear music” - one of the catchiest club records back in the 80s and 90s. If Kendrick incorporates the melody from that song into his (assuming he releases the full version..lol) I’m Djing that ALL year. That has potential to be Kendrick’s best club record.
Not Like Us is the best song, but Meet The Grahams is the best diss. Idk how everyone forgot about that one. Most evil song I’ve ever heard in my life.
"Octobers Very Own" is Drakes Birthday. He was born in October. I am Canadian that's how I know🇨🇦 Wanted to mention, the OWL symbolizes something significant with the "secret society" that he is associated with. The owl is a predator, that can see its pray at night. There is more meaning behind this bird.
Right!...They also have a massive owl statue in Bohemian Grove located in Monte Rio, California...The Grove set's inside of a restricted 2,700 acre area, and was founded in 1878; it belongs to a private gentlemen's club...In mid-July each year, the Bohemian Grove hosts a more than two-week encampment of some of the most (secret society) prominent men in the world...
OVHOEEE. The King Of The West!!! Seeing Kendrick and Whitney dancing is insane. WEST COAST ON TOP!!! 🐐🐐💯💯🔥🔥👑. Keep working hard Josh and Pops. Love your reactions. 💪🏽💯🔥
I’ve been saying that since i started watching them 🤔 this channel puts me in a good mood whenever i watch it because it’s like watching my family watching a video with me 🙂♥️🔥
This was a cultural revolution! King Kendrick solely and certainly slayed the invaders! Smooth! Hard too..but smooth. The tactics of Kendrick's team were deadly! All that AND the lyrics..! The beats, cadence and more makes this one the best!
Pops took me back with the Carpet and the spoon reference. Bro it's crazy how Black families all over generally experience the same thing, no matter what side we from..
The family part really shows a lot bc drakes whole point he kept saying was that his wife doesn’t smile and he doesn’t hang with his kids whole time he showing we in the living room having fun and she was smiling and all
Y'all missed how important some of these references in the video were... like the last shots with his family... in family matters Drake was saying Whitney wasn't around Dot and he was betting her also said dave free was one of Dots kids real daddy... Pops I remember those plastic runners... I used to flip the spikes up then go mess with my little brother's and have him chase me out the bedroom and he'd run right across that thing... was so much fun
Kendrick dropped this video on Independence Day, which was also the same day as Michael Rubin’s all white party where Drake and a jillion celebs were at. Him dressed in white waving at the end like, “enjoy!”🤣🤣
Imagine being at a party...lol...u coolin...lol.. having a good time...lol...then you notice every body's looking at their phone...and you find out kdot dropped the video 😢... that is some cold ish
Obviously not but it definitely happened to drake but the point is imagine how you would feel you enjoying yourself and everyone flips and starts saying Kendrick dropped putting pressure on you to watch the video or respond and all you choose to do is sip your drink and think this lil dude is playing games with your ass
Drake threw shade at Kendrick for Father's Day. Kendrick doubled up on that on Independence day. Shit. Now I think about it, Drake's not independent. Bro wtf... 😳
“Ambalamps” aka “Amber Lamps” is a play on Amber Alert for missing kids 🚨& Ambulance “OVO” October’s Very Own since Drake was born in October. Owl the logo for his brand from his OVO company

I’m a 55 year old Caucasian and nothing hurt like those plastic NAILS on the back of those carpet runners. How bout this pops? Shoutout everyone that remembers grandma having that tomato thing she kept all of her sewing needles sticking out of, like and subscribe! 😤🤣
I'm an adopted asian and even my white grandparents had the plastic on the couch with the plastic runners. THOSE SPIKES BLED MY FEET! AND I loved the debate. No Vasaline was my era as well (49yr old), No Like Us is almost a different type of Diss song. Same with Pharell's new one. They are redefining what rap music can be used for. This is why K Dot is different. Pioneers change the game.
Your duo is unique (father/son) and your son is so respectful and listens to your mature perspective. I'm likely close to Pops age so i relate tomhis views.
“No Vaseline”is an amazing song, one of my favorites I grew up listening to that song and it’s one of those hip hop songs that are timeless. your dad is right though “they not like us” is revolutionary in so many ways. He united gang members, people from all walks of life and all around the world… Hip hop culture needed this, true rapping (the double and triple entendres, flow switches, the rhyming etc) hasn’t been the same for a long time. There’s only a couple of OG’s that have continued to do it. Kendrick is one of the best lyricists of all time he’s about to be up there with Eminem, AND ITS AWESOME!
I can’t pick. Greatest dis of all time will either be No Vaseline, Hit ‘Em Up or Not Like Us, depending on what mood I’m in when you ask. Nothing has ever been as “big” as Not Like Us … this goes down in the history books with the best immediate. Instant classic.
You father is right. This is better than no vaseline as the song has reached international levels, has discredited his opponent, has united the gangs and best of all a bop for the west coast. Kendrick took it further than the beef.

“Mr. Get off I get off at my feet” we need that 🫢🔥
boy he was snappin 🔥
I feel like he was saying his feat like his defeat Like him
Whooping Drake
Mop feet*
LA slang
@@callendayo8930 and he said "I'm whooping feet" in Euphoria right.
what that even mean
This is 100% the greatest diss song. In ever aspect. Replay value . Video. Meaning. Content. troll value. unity of culture. and straight disssssssssing the opponent.
Kendrick is the "One." I just turned 40 and live in Cali. I've seen a lot. Kendrick literally destroyed a white supremacist cos playing as a black American rapper who knows the culture. Greatest take down ever.
No disrespect but is the real pp you very sexy ass fuck
Technically, Drake is african american (his father)/ Jew (his mother) and Canadian (where he was born), overall boy is a mutt, lol
Pops was giving all the nostalgia lol I remember that runner man that was painful af
This is gonna go down in history for hip hop
I agree with you, Dad. It’s all incredible.
I think Meet The Grahams is the greatest diss track ever made.
It’s so vicious Kendrick couldn’t play it at his concert.
Idk bro I like 6:16 in la
Euphoria for me 😅
There's an argument to be made for all four being the best lol. That's how you know he's the G.O.A.T. of his generation
@@andreahailey7399such distinct sound and delivery for each. Masterfully done.
Euphoria hit him so hard but Meet the Grahams killed him. I really can't say which one was better because they both did what they were supposed to do. I also feel that both those songs were better than not like us but that mustard beat is undeniable.
Dot’s hair is like a CROWN. Whitney’s extra touch on this experience.
Hearing pops talk about the plastic and big wooden spoon and fork in the dining room on the wall LOL my grandma has the exact same thing
Did everybody's grandma have that wooden fork and spoon on the wall 😂😂
That wooden spoon! That thing delivered its share of whoopings at my grandmas house.
@@NotSoFinalGirl 😂
I just want to say I’ve been on your videos hard lately. You two together brings the pov from two different generations and I love how you both are there helping catch things the other may have missed. I love the humbleness and how you’re always reminding people to stay kind and not only be respectful but peaceful to one another as well. Mad respect to you both and keep doing what y’all are doing
We love it from Ghana 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
Commenting about the hard pokey plastic runner. That description was so on point, I couldn’t help but chuckle.
Using revolutionary in regards to a diss track is crazy work 🔥 and he’s 100% correct
(OMG!!) to Ice Cube to NWA, LL Cool J to Kool Moe Dee, Canibus, & Ice T, Pac to Biggie,
Jay Z to Nas, 50 Cent to Ja Rule.
THAT’S DC GO GO
That’s the Godfather Of Go Go Chuck Brown ringtone. Chuck is the one who gave me the name GOGO GODSON

go to my other page and check out my song
“RIDE THE FUNKY GO GO HORSE WIT ME”
Drake may be facing criminal charges in the near future for all the things Kendrick has said and has stood on in quite a few songs.
pay attention
I enjoy your Father and Son Bond.
#UNBREAKABLE 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
Great reaction video!!
Kendrick dropped video of the year easily
Feels so good seeing this channel blow up 💯
3:07 the sample is Debbie Deb “When I Hear Music” They slowed the synth down 🔥
Bruh yall have life in a head lock and I’m here for it. I love yall keep pushing.
This has to be the first video I see pops so excited he's actually asking Josh to pause! The Kendrick effect!!! Hahaha 😂❤ Just playing y'all, but seriously you two are the best. Appreciate this channel. Pls keep up the amazing work! 🔥
I'm from your dad's era, up until not like us, no Vaseline was my All time Favorite! But THIS song, has a much harder Impact! Love to you both❤👍🏾💯
that was Kendrick's real family btw and his wife Whitney is wearing a wifebeater shirt which is funny cause drake said Kendrick beat her at some point
You mean Kendrick
@@opinionladyy lmao i aint even see that
There's so many messages in video Kendrick IQ level have to be high
Yo pops golden man I hope he brings us golden content for many many years.
Kendrick did 17 pushups in the video to symbolize drake doesn’t like anyone over 18
Hahahaha this was ALMOST as funny as the 20th time I heard it 😊

Pops just made me feel old af…. Liked, commented and subscribed cause I remember all those things in the crib 🤣
Dad counseling Drake 😂
That sample in the snippet from the beginning is “Debbie Deb - When I hear music” - one of the catchiest club records back in the 80s and 90s. If Kendrick incorporates the melody from that song into his (assuming he releases the full version..lol) I’m Djing that ALL year. That has potential to be Kendrick’s best club record.
Finally 😂 🔥 let’s go I’ve been waiting for y’all reaction ❤😊 😭
Right I watched some of the other reactions but I was waiting on theirs 😭😭😭
Same here! Love love love your reactions!
Same
Not Like Us is the best song, but Meet The Grahams is the best diss.
Owls are also idiot birds...poor mascot choice...he fell for the american myth of owls being wise predators. 😂
“secret society” nah they just the J’s
OVHOEEE. The King Of The West!!! Seeing Kendrick and Whitney dancing is insane. WEST COAST ON TOP!!! 🐐🐐💯💯🔥🔥👑. Keep working hard Josh and Pops. Love your reactions. 💪🏽💯🔥
is crazy how y’all don’t got a million subscribers yet y’all one of the best reacting video’s to watch
❤
I’ve been saying that since i started watching them 🤔 this channel puts me in a good mood whenever i watch it because it’s like watching my family watching a video with me 🙂♥️🔥
Pops it wasdope meeting you lol I swear you made my day!
Once pops brought up that plastic rug I knew what time he was on 😂😂😂😂
That part had me 💀💀
Cause they really hurt 😂
Dad loved your reaction, u were smiling through the whole video. Great job
1. hitem Up
2. Not Like Us
3.Ether
4. No Vaseline
5. State Property vs. DBlock
This was a cultural revolution! King Kendrick solely and certainly slayed the invaders! Smooth! Hard too..but smooth. The tactics of Kendrick's team were deadly!
All that AND the lyrics..! The beats, cadence and more makes this one the best!
That was Kendrick family at the family matters bar
Forget Kendrick’s family. Does your grandma have a big wooden spoon on the wall too 😂😂
@@kendrataylor9867 🤣
Yo honestly, pops NAILED this video. Had to subscribe. Listen to your dad bro, thats a bad mf!
Nah gotta let pops crip walk hahahah
Pops took me back with the Carpet and the spoon reference. Bro it's crazy how Black families all over generally experience the same thing, no matter what side we from..
My jaw dropped at the dancing in *shipping containers*. As in the sex trafficking allegations.
New subscriber, just bcuz you’re getting a bag with your Father. The illest & smartest ish on RUclips 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🤑
I used to flip the spikes up then go mess with my little brother's and have him chase me out the bedroom and he'd run right across that thing... was so much fun
we still need good kid madd city. also MMATBS. not everyone’s cup of tea but i honestly think that album is a straight piece of art.
Yeesss I hope they react to them
@@JessAnonymousthe son doesnt like Kendrick’s music so it will be a uphill battle
@@jaden5843 Let me guess, he´s a P Drizzy fan right?
Kendrick dropped this video on Independence Day, which was also the same day as Michael Rubin’s all white party where Drake and a jillion celebs were at. Him dressed in white
waving at the end like, “enjoy!”🤣🤣
Imagine being at a party...lol...u coolin...lol.. having a good time...lol...then you notice every body's looking at their phone...and you find out kdot dropped the video 😢... that is some cold ish
That’s what happen to u?
Obviously not but it definitely happened to drake but the point is imagine how you would feel you enjoying yourself and everyone flips and starts saying Kendrick dropped putting pressure on you to watch the video or respond and all you choose to do is sip your drink and think this lil dude is playing games with your ass
Drake threw shade at Kendrick for Father's Day. Kendrick doubled up on that on Independence day. Shit. Now I think about it, Drake's not independent. Bro wtf... 😳
“Ambalamps” aka “Amber Lamps” is a play on Amber Alert for missing kids 🚨& Ambulance
“OVO” October’s Very Own since Drake was born in October. Owl the logo for his brand from his OVO company
Thank you.. someone finally understood lol
I’ve heard “ambalamps” used in hip hop as early as 2016 tho…..
Ambalamps is also old school AAVE, not necessarily play on Amber Alert. I’m shocked the Dad didn’t know that either
Its not a damn play on amber alert 🤣 stop reaching u look stupid
Amberlamps also references the meme "call an amberlamps"
Im with pops this diss is the best diss ive ever heard, kendrick is in his own lane ❤
Shout out to pop great break down appreciate u guy
I friggin love it when ur pops is faded as hell sometimes. he dont seem like it that much right here but in other videos he is faded as fuk and its awesome LOOOL
I’m a 55 year old Caucasian and nothing hurt like those plastic NAILS on the back of those carpet runners. How bout this pops? Shoutout everyone that remembers grandma having that tomato thing she kept all of her sewing needles sticking out of, like and subscribe! 😤🤣
Lolololololol I love it!!!!!
I remember lol 😂
I am still traumatized and always wear slippers because of it.😂😂
Mannnnnn😂😂😂
That tomato thing was a pin cushion. I'll bet you have a grandma that used a Danish cookie tin for a sewing supply container. Cuz I did.
Awww I love Pops 😂❤❤❤❤ YOU ARE SOMEBODY- ALWAYS HAVE BEEN ❤
I'm an adopted asian and even my white grandparents had the plastic on the couch with the plastic runners.
Love yall I hit like before I even watched cause I already know it's UP! 😂😂😂😂
I grew up in that No Vaseline era , and i agree with Dad 😂
This is better than No Vaseline 😂
09:20 - 10:20 I had tears in my eyes. That was an incredible moment, full of emotion. Thank You, Sir. Great words.
Pops can have all the 'another things' he wants!
Cuz I’m listening! 😂
Your duo is unique (father/son) and your son is so respectful and listens to your mature perspective. I'm likely close to Pops age so i relate tomhis views.
😩😩he b-walk hopscotched on this dude.
Thumbs up for pops and his clarity.
I remember that violent plastic runner & the big wooden spoon & fork 😂
Love how you guys feel the music w your soul see it in your eyes
Yesssss that plastic runner.......used to tear toes up.....yessssss
“No Vaseline”is an amazing song, one of my favorites I grew up listening to that song and it’s one of those hip hop songs that are timeless.
your dad is right though “they not like us” is revolutionary in so many ways. He united gang members, people from all walks of life and all around the world…
Hip hop culture needed this, true rapping (the double and triple entendres, flow switches, the rhyming etc) hasn’t been the same for a long time. There’s only a couple of OG’s that have continued to do it.
Kendrick is one of the best lyricists of all time he’s about to be up there with Eminem, AND ITS AWESOME!
14:59 Yoo pops know the pain memories for suree 🤣🤣🤣
I've been looming for thus reaction for 24 hours
That Debbie Deb sample in the beginning though sheesh 🔥🔥🔥
Much love and appreciation from Kentucky ❤️🙏❤️
Those were painful 15:36
He need to drop that Snippet!!!
Facts!!!
Pops got it I fall asleep on my grandma plastic couch. Sweated all the water out my body🤣🤣
