and also little aesthetic things, like animations, the transfer between animations as well, it just doesn't look good, this game doesn't look pretty, it doesn't feel pretty.
Just add the possibility to mix couch AND online matchs (2 people on one console being allowed to play online against other people in matchmaking) and you'll already satisfy a lot of people. The game is MADE for 2v2 and 2 people in the same house can't play together online unless they play on 2 differents consoles/platform, this is completely absurd. Even the first Helldivers allowed people to do that...
What is the point of some discord channels like "game feedback" if there are NEVER any devs explicitly telling us that they are listening to us. Why does the discord server NOT have moderators?
I wish i enjoyed playing multiversus. Ive got a decent amount of hours and i had some fun but it just feels so strange to play. I know this isnt a fair comparison but i am so ready for rivals 2.
Maybe it just ain't your type of platformer, I've been loving it even in season 1, and the dev's attention to the problems just gives me hope for it's future
Multiversus should not have been released this year. It's clear that the game was published as a broken mess. Should've waited till around 2025 to be at a better state
The game is done ppl gave this game a chance and they fumbled twice this game been out for some months and still no hitbox fix like imagine not fixing the most important thing in a fighting game then everytime they update the game it lags more on top of that the game balance is terrible
This is the best video I've seen When it comes to the overall state of the game, And the things that Multiversus needs to do to keep up with all the new games that are dropping and just making the game better In general. hope yall keep doing videos like this in between seasons or at the end, because this were some great points.
game modes are useless, we already have 2v2 and 1v1 and ranked and rift for offline, this shouldnt be priority when the game still is missing core gameplay mechanics like movement or a real dash or a real wave dash, cuz this dodge thing aint no movement dawg, also i am not saying that they didnt improve it when the dodge cancel attacks, but like common we still cant move in this game
@@blastingpew I personally think the previous movement change was incredible and now feels SO much cleaner. Movement can still be fine tuned, but it’s not in a bad spot at all. New fun gamemodes with character choices or life based 1v1 sets, etc would add new unique content to the game allowing it to be more distinct from every other fighter.
@@lunarcosmetics7076 i agree but again the game is still in a bad spot, and i would rather to see fixes and new mechanics first then modes to enjoy it all with the new stuff, like they are already diff from other platform fighters with perk system, but even the perk system can be way more
@@blastingpew exactly man, movement is the core of pretty much any game I can think of. shooters, 2d fighters, platform fighters, adventure games, hell even board games like chess and checkers there's a reason why chess is extremely popular and checkers isn't there's a reason why chess is taken more seriously than checkers, it's the movement.
thank you guys for talking about this, I love Multiversus and its just so sad and heartbreaking how it turned out. It could still be so much better and ANYTHING is possible. Its possible it makes a comeback of the century but there's just so much wrong with it and just a rift in the game as a whole atm. Thanks for using your platform/s to chat about it more, If things continue on like this its possible multiversus isn't around for much longer and Im not ready to live in a world like that.
Most moves in this game need more whiff. It sucks how often you can get the read and dodge just for them to be able to still dodge the punish. Starts to feel like Naruto Storm and whoever loses shadow clones first eats the combo.
it's that plus the dodge system allowing THEM to punish you somehow. I often get punished for making a read because the other character after getting hit can just spam dodge into me and go to town
Not the shields. Shields will 100% guarantee this game's death and death of its identity just to become another dime a dozen Smash-like. Brawlhalla doesn't have shields and that game is still alive today.
@@nuibaba280 it doesn't have to be shield, I was thinking something more on the lines of blocking, but like a traditional 2d fighter where you receive reduced knockback when you block an attack
@@jasonruff1270 That can't work without a grab system and now PFG would be stuck in a bottomless pit. They'd have to add a ridiculous amount of brand new animations to the existing roster of 30+ chars and account for over 100 possible system interactions. The game would be in jeopardy. It's far too late to essentially rework the entire game.
@@nuibaba280 yeah exactly, that's what I don't like about multiversus, the system mechanics, sf6 on the other hand has solid system mechanics. sure they can balance the game and mitigate some problems when it comes to competitive play, but if they really wanted the fix this game, they would have to rework the whole combat system..... WHICH IS WHAT I THOUGHT THEY WOULD'VE DONE OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR SINCE THEY CLOSED THE GAME DOWN..... but I guess not. That's why multiversus is failing.
THANK YOU BOTH PLS DO MORE OF THIS ROUND TABLE. Im coming from Smash, was always a big fan of the Tweek Talk (and Voids cameos in there XD). Very Glad you guys trying to do this for MVS! Also pretty much all of what you said, bothers my longtime friends to play this game with me. We started playing Smash since 64. With the Ultimate release we played every single Friday together. We unfortunatly stoped this Tradition 2 years ago. Its so sad i cant bring them into Multiversus....
the multiverse devs love creating stuff but struggle to meet a "target". making the moveset? free. fun. creative. anything goes. nerfing someones tool? complex. hard. just add cooldown. other games basically keep in mind game balance when designing a moveset. multiverse designs everything freely and fun and then realise oh no its op. a blessing and a curse.
Should have bought rivals2 you’d be happy either way that and that’s bc there’s a lot of communication with developers. Established community and no big org like wb involved. It won’t have the same peaks of first month’s beta MV but it will sure as hell have a longer and healthier life
@@ilcavaliereoscusa6758Rivals 2 taught me not to preorder because the intro sale made it cheaper to buy it on launch than on the Kickstarter. I'm not upset because it's a great game and it's only $3, but in the future I'll probably wait for the introductory offer on Steam.
Honestly, my biggest issue is the animation clarity. There’s very obvious ways to address things like Joker Up Special not looking like it should kill, just adjust the animation with more “oomph.” So many moves in this game don’t “feel” correct. Moves do not properly translate to their in-game effects.
I think something they should do that I don’t know was mentioned is heavily advertise their new changes. For example, you can play anyone in training and local play now, something that was heavily criticized on launch, but I feel like they didn’t do much beyond mentioning it in the patch notes. I still have friends who say it’s bad you can’t play locally with all the characters. I think that type of publicity would go a long way. I feel like the game is almost in a solid state, but there’s still quite a few changes I’d like to see that I think most people would as well. I know it’s easier said than done, but I think they should 1. Fix/decrease the size of a bunch of the hitboxes 2. If they don’t want to make unlocking characters easier, then simply add a couple of more free starter characters besides Shaggy and Banana Guard, maybe one from each class archetype. (why the hell is Reindog not free) 3. Refine local play (add an actual stage selection screen, better menus, etc.) 4. As Bam said, add some type of major defensive mechanic 5. Decrease the hit stop of moves to make things generally faster and flow better And then advertise all of that heavily, maybe with an event with a bunch of content creators. Get people who were dismissive of Multiversus to go “Hey, this game might be worth checking out again after all these big changes”. Also a switch port would probably do good.
Casual fan, the reason I play and like this game is the franchises that are featured. Not a crazy fan of EVERY franchise in here, but I'm a longtime fan of Gremlins, Beetlejuice, and Scooby-Doo. I have a lot of thoughts, but essentially they need to bring a similar level of quality to other parts of the game as they do it the move sets (conceptually/visually) of their characters. The quality of the game's visuals in great. Animations are on point, you can see the expressions of characters when they get hit or use a wacky move and they make sense or are satisfying to see. Voice acting is also on point, almost all the characters have their original VAs if they are animated or have the person they use currently for all things related to the character. Interactions remind me of the other Warner Bros crossover game, LEGO Dimensions, calling back to references in their franchises or making a funny joke that totally fits the character. Stages look great too. The newest stage in the game, the gremlins movie theater stage, is one of their better ones visually because of the interaction between the gameplay and the background with the gremlins cheering to each knockout. While not fighting game fitting, the music is on point as great remixes to themes from the show or their title sequence. Characters have great movesets that give you an idea of what kind of character they are personality wise. Tom & Jerry are fighting each other on the stage, with everyone else as collateral damage. Velma is using her smarts to unearth clues so she can solve her mystery. Taz is trying to season you up so he can "eat" you (turn you into a chicken I guess). Even the less complex stuff have fantastic references like Stripe's weapons being the stuff he uses in his movie, or odd gameplay mechanics like Beetlejuice's partner ability that summons him after 3 strikes. Lots of great fine detail stuff, but the game is still lacking in obvious places. The UI and menu sucks in comparison to what's out there and what we've had before. I've seen mobile games with better looking UIs than this. Events and missions still don't work super well or are hard to read at times. Some Missions don't work at all how they are stated still. Rift mode is too frustrating and boring. I don't feel like I gain much for playing, and while I like my lore, this game's is so paper thin feeling it's hard to stay interested, especially when it's in these lame speech bubbles. A new game mode for singleplayer players will keep us playing much longer. Online if frustrating for me personally, but I've accepted I'm not going to go far in ranked mode, not with how long it takes to rank up (plus at times going up against the same players in queues). Fighter currency needs to be dumped on us waay more than it is now. I shouldn't be getting 5 Fighter Currency IF my opponent toasts me after a match, I should be getting 100+ if I win a match and half that if I lose, just like Battlepass XP. The Shop is even worse. Bundles make no sense, discounts feel random, prices for non-skins are outrageous for what they are (ringout for 1,800 Gleamium???), it's a mess. I'd love to spend money on the game, but nothing the way it's set up makes me feel like what I'm buying is worth it. The character bundles from Season 2 (If you didn't own any of the characters) were really good for new players or people who didn't buy those characters, but we still don't have a "buy all characters" bundle? Early release characters suck, but they doubly suck when I only find out in the patch notes day of the character's release I can't play them until 3 days later, unless I want to buy them with real money. There's already an effective formula used in many other live-service games like Fortnite, just take a couple notes and it will be better (not perfect, but better). Music needs to be more action-y. I like the music, but as mentioned I don't feel the blood pumping to the Haunted Mansion stage music, even if it really does sound like it's right out of a Scooby-Doo episode. Dexter's Lab is pretty good, GoT theme has a lot of build-up but has some pumping moments, and the Rick & Morty tracks overall are great climactic songs, but I don't hear anything that I instantly would say belong in a fighting game. I feel like if they could just fix some of the obvious stuff a new player will see, like the UI or some Shop issues (allow mass character purchase), the game would feel like it has a much better footing for the future. As it is right now however, I don't know if it can last super long when other games come out that can get things better quicker. It's strongest aspect is the character recognition and translation of those characters to a fighting game, but that alone won't keep things going. I'm still optimistic because that character strength is so strong, but it needs help in other areas.
This game really does need a big "Version 2.0" moment. Trickling out small improvements over time may not get enough eyeballs on the game to reverse its slow decline. It's a real shame too because as Void and Bam said, this game had 2XKO levels of potential before 2XKO existed. Hopefully its not too late to reverse course.
I feel the same way. They have make some improvements over the next season or 2 and then have a big 2.0/subtitle relaunch. Offer the launch roster for like $20 or something and have a decent tourney “tour”
As a casual (provably no more than gold rank) what I hate the most is how strong burst options and projectiles are in 2v2. The lack of defensive option makes a shaggy doing only side b way more effective than it deserves to be....
I think they've had their chance with this game, it's just time to give Rivals of Aether 2 the spotlight since it deserves it so much more, thanks to having everything Multiversus needed to be good.
That's not how reality works. MVS and Rivals 2 will co-exist, they are drastically different games nor does Rivals have a lot of the reason many bother to play Multiversus.
@@nuibaba280 see this is something i say about people comparing DB Sparking Zero with DB FighterZ, "they're drastically different games", one's a casual arena game with an unbalanced cast for fun and the other a competitive fighting game, but i don't get the example of these two not being in the same category, they're literally two platform fighting games with dev teams that always try to balance their cast for a better competitive experience, they potentially share the same community, that's why they're competing with each other, and like i said, RoA2 has everything to become actually succesful as a platform fighter that isn't made by Nintendo, just like Brawlhalla, and unlike MVS.
@@curse5697 Except a vast amount of MVS players play it purely because of its star power. The idea that MVS will insta-die once Rivals 2 releases is peak delusion. Unless Rivals 2 somehow gets their hands on characters people actually care about, MVS will be fine. And MVS could absolutely gather its own unique scene just like Brawlhalla did. And that game gets 0 respect from the Smash community too so...
@@nuibaba280 players play it because of it's IPs, true. I didn't say it would insta-die, ofc it would still have it's own little playerbase, at the end, not everyone cares enough about actual quality gameplay. "MVS could absolutely gather its own unique scene just like Brawlhalla", it's been 2 years, what's stopping them? And true, Brawlhalla it's definitely not praised by the Smash community nor even the Melee community, not because it's a bad game, but because it's such a departure of the Smash gameplay feel, but still, within it's own rights, if you've never played Smash before, you're probably gonna enjoy it, RoA is not the same tho, this franchise has always been directly inspired from Melee and that's obvious, the only reason why it never exploded with the Smash community its because of the lack of grabs, shields and ledges, and the artstyle too, now they have all of that and even more with new mechanics and a graphics update, while also being available on surely every new gen console, and actually having a chance to enter big tournaments like EVO by not being restricted by the evil big N.
Listing my constructive feedback below... I will start with a personal glitch I'd like fixed though. They need to fix glitched badges. I have had 4 badges glitched on my account since relaunch. With no where to get actual help (submitting bug reports, trying to mention on twitter, it's frustrating) General updates needed: -Make down attacks/specials go through platforms. Frustrating when platforms obstruct hitting the opponent when recovering downward -Fix hit boxes -Slightly increase speed 5-10% - I am okay with the speed, but I say increase slightly since majority seem to want it faster. -Make the UI better for local co-op (make the interface nicer like smash bros) current local interface looks bland and basic -Update the game to display profile lvl's on the home hub, display profile lvl and character lvls on the screens before/after fights -Update end of battle stat rewards (character and profile lvl xp screen) update it to show our character portrait and profile picture next to the xp bars, add xp sound fx when you lvl up. Also display how much xp we gained. The UX of this screen is confusing and doesn't feel rewarding to lvl up, often dont realize I even lvled up until I get back to the home screen. Add sfx and big pop up when we lvl up. It was a better user experience during the beta. There was sfx and the pop ups for leveling up were more apparent. -Advertise every event, new skin, updates etc on social media. So many skins, emotes, events etc are never mentioned on their social media. Some people may not actively be playing mvs, and posting updates on social media could get them to see it and go back to playing. I wish they'd hire a stronger social media team that cares about the game, I feel like their social media is lackluster often -Add online co-op -Add online bot fights back for people that want to play casually/not vs real people. This mode was in the beta and was fun -Bring back xp boost items -Bring back refresh/skip mission button (use once a day) -Add categories at the top in the shop to quickly toggle through to reach different sections (fighters, skins, prestige, ringouts, emotes, banners) Also Tony needs to make a come back to Twitter. He carried a vibe similar to how people loved to hear from Sakurai. When tony tweeted, people got excited. I dont see the same level of excitement for their social media since Tony left.
@@ExoticZah No, he just oddly doesn’t tweet anymore really (he used to tweet a lot). Funny enough, he tweeted just now. He hasn’t been active on there at all since the relaunch, it’s nice to see him interact
@@TheBackRoom_Gaming not oddly lol. he got bombarded by fans and ppl wouldn't leave him alone,so he pulled away. Interactions like that all the time can be insanely draining.
@@bam762 Yeah you have a point but let’s not act like they don’t release the game in a sorry state. It was unacceptable and he should have known fans were going to rage.
I enjoyed the beta so much more i honestly don't know what they done with the gameplay and even sometimes you can't dodge attacks sometimes you just literally stuck in a bunch of spamming punches
I would really appreciate a faster way to earn perk currency. That’s the one thing that is rare to come by. Sucks trying out a new character but can’t really explore their perks and depth right away.
Just thought I would throw my hat into the ring for some topics mentioned. -I can NEVER parry a move coming towards me when I want to. -As a local TO, I am too afraid to host a tournament for this game that I love because the entry numbers for what I have entered in has been too small!
1:39:10 was so unfortunate as a banana guard main. I was so hype when I saw this but then it just wasn't in the game? No explanation either? Otherwise, look at how Bungie handles "This Week at Bungie".. and how they have a weekly blog post of whats to come in Destiny 2: balancing, communication, and then fun clips from the community. Multi would benefit HUGE from this. No more cryptic tweets. Actual blog posts talking about state of the game, RP changes, etc. Great panel gents.
To be at least a little fair, Bungie sure let’s us know what’s going into the next stuff, and when the fans cry that we want something better nothing changes, because daddy bungie makes the decisions in this house
They need to bring back the Arcade ladder system they had before the current version and Rifts need to be turned into a more coherent “story mode” it feels all over the place
I love this game and want to see it do well but after taking a 2 week break the game just felt bad to play, and rifts are extremely uninteresting to me so I just went back to Tekken 8
What bam was saying about people losing investment because labbing got cool stuff removed really hit home for me. I put hundreds of hours into Lebron and would frequently spend 30minutes to an hour labbing the character and practicing things. I had my own routes based of predicting DI or catching defensive options instead of going for my full combo by knowing my defensive counter to my combos. I practiced so many different routes. Had so many different tools and mix ups. Kill confirms etc. And a patch comes and literally. Every. Single. Thing. Was gone. Everything. Hundreds of hours of practice and hard work was gone. And almost all of it had defensive options or counters but you just had to know the DI. I was so upset that I haven’t spent any money on the game sense. I’ve drastically decreased my playtime and went from competing in my first tournament to not even being willing to play ranked. Lebron was mid tier at best. And they gutted him. current Lebron is literally a more cheesy toxic version than he was on release. The whole character revolves around not even wanting to have the ball for his best moves in neutral, and then trying to loop people with jab down ball pass IAD dair in order to tech chase loop them. It’s so stupid. the “auto tech” option is a less reliable defense than the original DI on Lebron ever was. It’s so frustrating and stupid and just shows incompetence. I was really hoping the game would do well but all they have really done is let people invest time into the game and rip away the cool stuff they had. I know a lot of you have hope but it seems like after many months/years. I just do not see them making the necessary changes needed in order to make the game more appealing and regain an audience. Ranked is abysmal. There aren’t enough players for decent match making. The band aid fixes feel lazy. All the characters target by auto tech just stayed the same strength or stronger while nerfing most low tiers. The aerial momentum and jab priority changes didn’t stop jabs from being oppressive. I really just don’t see them fixing the game. Every step forward feels like two steps backwards.
Going from from super slippery in the beta to super super slow in the release just was extremely jarring experience. They should've just toned down the air dodges n kept the speed
I played once at full release and it felt so bad compared to the beta that I just uninstalled. It's hard to explain but it felt like I was playing underwater. It would take significant physics changes for me to return.
What I can think of myself: the game needs its mentioned problem areas adjusted/fixed, and I think its a huge L that PFG are not clearly supporting or advertising tournaments and the Esport side of the game.. Esports are a great way to create a dedicated loyal playerbase and make storylines that people care about. People need to SEE the game to talk about it.
And I def wanna say and think it needs reminding; I feel the game is heading (slowly) in the right direction and its def not to late for it to gain a wide and healthy playerbase
Hearing you guys talk about the lack of shield and turn around Jabs.... makes me sad... that's why this game is so frustrating and feels so bad to play D: Couldn't put it into words but you've captured it perfectly. I also just stopped reading the patch notes because they are basically useless. Also, I was super hyped for Smith, grinded rifts but got unlucky with my Gem XP so I gave up. He comes out around season 2 for 6k Fighter Currency and I'm just like.... but it took me so long to get 6k (midway through season 2) I may as well wait for Season 3 where he will be 3k. So I unlocked him literally 2 months after his release date which was July 8th (season 3 started September 17th). Like my hype was well and truely dried up I played like 6 games and just ended up feeling like I had been fucked about and so I uninstalled the game.
so true you pointed exactly what frustrates me but i wasnt understanding what it was; the block mechanic - about being able (or actually not being able to) whiff punish and in some scenarios being completely stuck without openings when the frame data gap is too big - also creates a stupid neutral game more about frame data rather than using the right tool at the right time or baiting in and out - feels stupid to play atm
10 minutes in and they already talked about my biggest frustration with the game outside of the hit boxes. Neutral is beyond boring And it’s clear the devs took elements of other platform fighters and put them into multi-verses without realizing why those mechanics we’re in their perspective games in the first place After season 1 uninstalled. They’re constantly band-aiding the game when it’s flawed to its core. Anyone with platform fighter experience could have told you that within 4-5 hours of playing. I think by season 12-13 they’ll have a solid enough game on their hands. I’ve said this before. You’ll never be able to convince me this game wasn’t originally designed for mobile and at the last min they decided to change
Samurai Jack launch killed the game imo it hasn’t been as enjoyable since Edit: Finished the video I’ll add some thoughts: - The game needs a serious promotional boost/2.0 moment - we’re already into the holiday release season and frankly this week alone, since some major game releases (Sparking Zero/D4 expansion) , is the first time I’ve legitimately started running into the same players online over and over again. I’d estimate the playerbase is the lowest it’s ever been since relaunch. MVS doesn’t feel prepared to compete with premium releases. - The rifts/rift gems have clearly taken a backseat after Season 1 for better or worse. They’re already redoing nodes and it’s gotten old fast. The rate of new updates has also drastically slowed, and the last three seasons have relied on weak ass events to maintain player retention. - Character balance is all over the place and people are also sick of inconsistent hitboxes. It’s only so many times you can get hit by an attack from behind the character that you’ll put up with this janky ass game.
Idk if anyone else has experienced this but rank has been garbage for me recently. I'm barley in plat, and for some unholy reason ive been getting put up against people in masters and diamond. I havent faught a single plat player. Shits demoralizing
I really do like multiversus but i think they really need to listen to the fans on the balancing changes. The fact that Jack has been hit with the nerf bat multiple times but they havent touched black adam, joker bugs or wonder woman is baffling. Hit boxes and hurt boxes need to be adjusted too. Theres no reason someone should be hit while theyre behind someone attacking

Maybe they could add more branches to all characters N free movement N have like a combo breaker or substitution system then they could get away with some of the broken stuff. Iron giant has one but make it where instead of being an attack it could be a defensive only tool
I really only play Batman but I stopped playing a while ago. One thing I really hated was his moveset or rather his aesthetics. Dude is a whole ninja, master of martial arts, and geared to the nines but all of his moves look basic and boring. Jab, jab, uppercut... Uppercut with guantlets... Double uppercut with guantlets... Rising uppercut... Basic sweepkick... Where are the cape attacks? No gadgets integrated into his normals? No grabs? No remote bombs? His gimmick is always being prepared but hes only allowed 1 batarang at a time? 2 lingering basketballs are ok though. Seems like there was more creativity when coming up with moves for other characters.
He does have a pretty decent amount of gadgets in his moveset though. Batarang, grappling hook, smoke bomb, attachable bomb, glider. He’s got all the essentials. Sure you could argue that Batman should reasonably be a setup/zoner and not a rushdown character, but I honestly think his moveset is fine.
@@tropicturtle9021 His moveset works yes, but its very uninspired and aesthetically unappealing. Why does Batman and like 4 other people have the same exact uppercut for an up special? His normal attacks are just regular punches and kicks. If you can incorporate grabs into people's side attack combos then you can come up with something better than what he got. For example, instead of a rising uppercut he could do a rising spin attack with the cape that multi hits. Have him use the cape to sweep instead of the kick. Instead of a basic 3 punch side attack combo how about a palm strike, an elbow with the gauntlets, and a jumping knee into gadget or something. Everything would do the same damage and knockback but be much more interesting to look at. From what I've seen cooldown abilities only exist for some characters and those characters only get 1. Batman is the exception and has 3. With Batman being the gadget guy and always prepared, having more of that gimmick makes perfect sense for him. So why not go all in with it and give him a few more gadgets? - Smoke bomb turns into the explosive gel that you remote detonate (Arkham games) - Batarang (ground) turns into a cape spin that stuns but does low damage and knockback (Arkham games) - Batarang (in air) turns into scatter bombs that stun but do low damage and knockback (Injustice) - Bat bomb cooldown still enhances his fists but varying button presses give them a different debuff: 1 press - electrified/applies shocked, 2 presses - ignite/damage over time, 3 presses - ice/applies frozen or a slow Honestly they should give everyone more moves. Perhaps I'm overthinking all of this but Batman and imo several other characters are boring to watch, play, fight against. TL;DR make boring moves look cool and give characters more cool stuff
19:59 no one is complaining about standard shaggy side b lol. Its enraged shaggy side b that is SUPER fast, has insane range, and a bunch of other buffs that make the attack ridiculous edit: ????????????? there is more then enough time to punish shaggy side b what are we talking about? You arent supposed to run away from it and then punish it, you are supposed to CAREFULLY SPACE in this game and then punish. Yall even said it yourselves, this game is faster in the air. You need to avoid attacks with your air movement and dodges. Just jump over shaggy side b and punish it... you dont have to run away... just go over it man.... I feel like we arent thinking much about what we are saying.
You making it sound easy if it’s a casual shaggy what you are saying makes sense but you forget if shaggy has a brain the side B depending on stages can cover almost the entire stage not only that the angle is so good it can cover the ground and air as he starts the kick from air and goes down at angle to cover all options and the end lag is not terrible so if he does it right he just gets away with it
@@ITS_NIN10DOUGHBOY_YT yea even if the shaggy player has a brain its still very easy to dodge. Question for Void, are you okay with the game succeeding in a way you don't like or approve of? Because if I'm being totally honest, it seems like alot of people only want Multiversus to be successful the way THEY WANT IT TO.
Would some sorte of public test server work? Because most of the time seems like their nerfs / buffs aren't tested at all. I really like the game but everytime I get tired of the the same problems it has. Hopefully when a year has passed, most of these problems are taken care of and Multiversus becomes a good game.
i think a really big problem that nobody ever talked about is that the game doesnt have local multiplayer. This is exactly the game i wanna play when a friend comes visiting, I'd love to play 2v2's online with him while local. Most of the opportunities i had to play were like this. This is a party game, most of the players are casual, similarly to super smahs bros. I think its actually idiotic to not have the option to play online 2v2's locally, actually stupid. Most of my friends only played at home offline aswell and we could only play when we had 4 people. the game doesnt need to be perfect, it should be playablle and attainable for most of the user needs, i dont see this hapening. Adding rifts as game mode is stupid if they thinks thats whats missing
Why can batman spam grapple? Then if he realizes he screws up grapple he can just cancel... Why can stripe blow himself out of any combo? Why do i get put against grand masters and masters while im in gold or plat?
@@Right_BumperI mean they added ranked for a reason. I only play ranked maybe once a week while I log in to play free for alls everyday. It’s a shame the balance is poo water.
Imma be honest here as someone who got to play the alpha and beta all the way to the end; Until they fix the hit-stop/delay on moves and overall speed of the game none of these changes will make a difference. What made beta so great? Hmmm, the FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. Without the OG gameplay mechanics in the game it's doomed to be in this constant state of "Jabversus". It's hard to want to try any other ways of play when all your moves, besides jab, leave you so vulnerable. Let's be honest the beauty of this platform fighter was the non-committal of alot of moves. You could cancel out of just about anything which led to moves that see rare usage being used alot more often. The speed is also detrimental to the pace of the game. Fast falls have been reduced to "parachute falls", I feel like I'm skydiving but my parachute is already out. You have limited usage on dodge rolling into attacks which brings matches to a left-right simulator until someone is ballsy enough to approach with a jab. You have games as Shaggy LITERALLY being won with jab jab up special and there's little you feel you can do to defend against it. I don't mind being vulnerable through dodge rolling if you abuse it too much, but just let us keep our speed when we do it. Also why tf did they change iad Nair to hover you WAY above the ground now? Taking away another option for approach.
ALSO spectating the game has never been more boring! High level play now is pacing back and forth and waiting to jab into a special or kill confirm. This contributes to the point I made about FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. Just put the game back into beta and start making adjustments from there lol
@@MrTMNTdonatello lol no, I get you have rose tinted glasses of the beta but that state of the game was too fast. Spectators actively got sick of watching it with a refusal to support tourneys for the game because it was a mash-fest of cancels and cheese. One of the reasons GsmVoid of all people quit the beta because it was TOO fast and was a total slog. Invincibility frames everywhere and not having to commit to anything just meant players would spend the entire game flailing around. Relaunch is flawed too but current state of relaunch is a massive step in the right direction.
@@MrTMNTdonatello Except beta was a novelty that stopped being fun because gameplay devolved to just dodge spam. Void outright says he stopped having fun with beta gameplay.
@nuibaba280 that doesn't mean others didn't thoroughly enjoy that gameplay over this lol. To each their own. I give MVS about a year unless they iron out these issues
The game is really fun still, BUT, it’s not perfect. Like a cupcake given to you at work, it’s not bad, it’s tasty, but it can be much bigger, like a piece of cake.
My casual friends love iron giant and every patch they see nerfs... YET he's STILL one of the BEST chars in the game. But these guys quit because all they see are "nerfs". It just feels bad. This is exactly what happened to steven too. He got all nerfs yet he's still one of the best chars but many stevens quit.
The game is so bare bones when it comes to offense especially when it comes to the casual players I play rank all the time and most games consist of both players pacing back and forth waiting for a JAB aerials have nothing to do with the offense most of the time unlike smash where characters have lost of aerial combos every top tier rely too much on basic jab kill confirms which is boring To play and watch in my opinion
FACTS. Almost every high lvl play I see of MvS is soo boring to watch because majority of them is just them spamming the same combo over and over again or just waiting for the other person to do something.
@@Nightlizard1564 it’s the devs fault for only giving most characters one or two combo strings and just to top it off unlike smash bros there’s no aerial combat strings like u can’t fast fall into multiple up airs like Mario, fox u usually get one aerial and then you wait for your opponent to dodge that’s it you can’t express your self or carry the opponent to the blast zone your self a lot of the game is just being passive waiting for your opponent to burn dodge
@@pretzelssb4153 I play a lot got both Tom and Jerry and Batman to masters last season haven’t played too much this season but still enough to know this game got potential but if they keep basing the offense on what your opponent does and not what your skill set allows you to do it won’t never compare to other plstformers sky do I haft to want until my opponent to dodge if I get a hit I wanna keep my offense going not get one hit then ok let’s see what he does next that’s fucking boring to play and watch the game is designed around camping and waiting for your opponent to panick and pick an option rather than rewarding you for getting it now do your combo
Speaking in the fast in the air but grounded attacks are just better, I feel like this affects two fighters in particular worse than others; both saying that it doesn’t affect everyone but I feel like Jake and iron giant get it the worst. I feel like this is because of the current state of the game they have some of the worst grounded attacks and amazing aerials but crappy grounded attacks compared to their aerials but everyone else’s grounded attacks are use so much better than their aerials so they kind of get the short end of the stick. If you think either one of them is op just play them for like 10 matches I promise you you will feel simply worse than everyone else because of this problem. I feel like of they just allowed certain fighters to be slower on the ground but faster than others in the air this game would be so much more enjoyable for certain fighters.
beta speed felt horrid though was just worse version of people spamming and dodging. this games dodge sucks and it allows for people to just mash options and be safe. but calling busted things fun is just a lame thing to say. idk why people find it so hard to be honest and just tell it like it is, and be honest they are abusing something thats broken cause it aint fixed.
@@CaleebTalib I’m sorry but the beta was not better I binge played it before it shut for relaunch and it’s way better, the beta speed was horrendous hence why it got changed and I don’t understand why people want that speed back
I cannot tell you how much I want to love this game. It’s just SO SO SO GARBAGE. I don’t think they’ll ever be able to actually balance it in a way that makes 1v1s feel fair
And I think that’s the core issue here. Multiversus has always, repeatedly, made it clear the game is designed with 2v2 in mind. Now even in 2v2 the game has massive flaws and needs work to make 2v2 less of a spamfest, but 1v1 will always be even worse off because the devs fundamentally care less about that mode.
I think not calling it predatory just because it's dumb is a disservice... It very much is predatory regardless if it's failing at it... Edit: and because it's so bad I will never spend a cent in the game untill it is fixed (doubtfull)
THE GAME NEED BLOCK AND BE LESS FLOATY. the first version did not feel good to me at all just a billion ppl breaking the dash button and COMPLETELY AVOIDING FIGHTING. They still avoid fighting now. But like it’s just so annoying to have to chase ppl who just non stop dodge and jump around
Adding block and grabs is literally not possible. Far too late for that, maybe if this was still beta but it's not. We're over 30 characters in and that means over 150+ animations and interactions. If Brawlhalla can last this long without block MVS just needs to get stable fixes including consistent hitboxes.
@@Mr.L9 It literally is. We're years in with over 30 fighters, spent too long building its own identity and robust roster. To shoehorn grabs/block means 100+ unique animations in total. You're not getting shield.
@@Right_Bumperthe game doesn’t have an identity to begin with. It’s a platform fighter that tried to cash in after smash ended. If anything at least rivals of aether actually does something to really stand out on its own
I like the wheel analogy... the wheel has already been invented, sort of speak. I understand Multiversus needing to stand out compared to Smash Bros, but there's no shame in using at least a FEW ideas to solve problems that already have an answer. Einstein used Newton's work to create his own groundbreaking theorys. It's not copying, it's just moving forward in progress. Some of the game's issues that are the most annoying are the ones that shouldn't be issues at all Again, I don't want just another Smash Bros, dime a dozen clone. But the game is in a terrible spot when it shouldn't be, and it sucks to feel like the progress being made to improve is so slow. I don't wanna be disheartened by reading a patch meant to fix things. But hey, I heard Warframe made an insane comeback once before, so maybe in a year, Multiversus will be the hot new topic again. I also hope Tony is doing okay since I know his original "open door policy" just allowed a bunch of certain players to tell him horrible things when they were mad. The internet can be cruel, so hope he isn't letting it get to him.
- Fix hitboxes
- Fix cheese tactics with certain characters
- balance properly
- advertise the game more
- add more movement options
and also little aesthetic things, like animations, the transfer between animations as well, it just doesn't look good, this game doesn't look pretty, it doesn't feel pretty.
@@jasonruff1270 I would love that, I doubt it's in their budget though sadly.
Superman edge cheese, fin top map cheese, Adam mobility, batman everything.
It is a fair comparison. They are both platform fighters, multiversus is just dog shit
Multiversus should not have been released this year. It's clear that the game was published as a broken mess. Should've waited till around 2025 to be at a better state
@@lov_elilol the glazing is actually wild
The game is done ppl gave this game a chance and they fumbled twice this game been out for some months and still no hitbox fix like imagine not fixing the most important thing in a fighting game then everytime they update the game it lags more on top of that the game balance is terrible
This is the best video I've seen When it comes to the overall state of the game, And the things that Multiversus needs to do to keep up with all the new games that are dropping and just making the game better In general. hope yall keep doing videos like this in between seasons or at the end, because this were some great points.
The "floating " topic Bam killed . Spot on . " Why am I floating after landing on the ground " .
Absolutely loving the game, I think the game could become huge if two things happen:
1. More consistent/accurate hit boxes
2. New gamemodes
game modes are useless, we already have 2v2 and 1v1 and ranked and rift for offline, this shouldnt be priority when the game still is missing core gameplay mechanics like movement or a real dash or a real wave dash, cuz this dodge thing aint no movement dawg, also i am not saying that they didnt improve it when the dodge cancel attacks, but like common we still cant move in this game
@@lunarcosmetics7076 i agree but again the game is still in a bad spot, and i would rather to see fixes and new mechanics first then modes to enjoy it all with the new stuff, like they are already diff from other platform fighters with perk system, but even the perk system can be way more

there's a reason why chess is taken more seriously than checkers, it's the movement.
thank you guys for talking about this, I love Multiversus and its just so sad and heartbreaking how it turned out.
I really hope the MVS Devs see this because I think you can speak for a lot of players
He ain’t sponsored no more now he’s telling the truth about the game unlike how he was lying saying everything is fine a few months ago😂
TRUE
theyre using the overwatch model which is basically the same thing. build the characters for fun and worrying about balancing later.
Mutiverses taught me to never, ever buy founder packs/pre order games
Joker’s balloon could be fixed by making it an obvious explosive it also in character so it makes sense
Pretty sure we all agree it’s the hit boxes that need to get fixed and addressed.
I know it’s easier said than done, but I think they should
1. Fix/decrease the size of a bunch of the hitboxes
2. If they don’t want to make unlocking characters easier, then simply add a couple of more free starter characters besides Shaggy and Banana Guard, maybe one from each class archetype. (why the hell is Reindog not free)
3. Refine local play (add an actual stage selection screen, better menus, etc.)
4. As Bam said, add some type of major defensive mechanic
5. Decrease the hit stop of moves to make things generally faster and flow better
And then advertise all of that heavily, maybe with an event with a bunch of content creators. Get people who were dismissive of Multiversus to go “Hey, this game might be worth checking out again after all these big changes”.
Also a switch port would probably do good.
Love y'all ty from the bottom of gamer heart for just talking about the important shit
Lets go! I hope to see more of these in the future man really good stuff o7
They already basically had a version 2.0 with the full release after the beta and they fucked it up
They should just try adding a shield mechanic in a patch. I think it would really improve the game
Bro 2XKO is dead on arrival. That game has lost ALL hype and mainstream interest and potential.

I think they've had their chance with this game, it's just time to give Rivals of Aether 2 the spotlight since it deserves it so much more, thanks to having everything Multiversus needed to be good.
When rivals 2 hits consoles eventually they will for sure become the top
We all want this game to flourish. Hopefully the devs take this to new heights.
They need to pay attention to other platform fighters and apply what they already addressed. They can make a comeback, i see that future.
lets go void ❤
I think the rift gems really mess with the balancing of rifts. They often feel too easy or too hard.

Listing my constructive feedback below... I will start with a personal glitch I'd like fixed though.
They need to fix glitched badges. I have had 4 badges glitched on my account since relaunch. With no where to get actual help (submitting bug reports, trying to mention on twitter, it's frustrating)
General updates needed:
-Make down attacks/specials go through platforms. Frustrating when platforms obstruct hitting the opponent when recovering downward
-Fix hit boxes
-Slightly increase speed 5-10% - I am okay with the speed, but I say increase slightly since majority seem to want it faster.
-Make the UI better for local co-op (make the interface nicer like smash bros) current local interface looks bland and basic
-Update the game to display profile lvl's on the home hub, display profile lvl and character lvls on the screens before/after fights
-Update end of battle stat rewards (character and profile lvl xp screen) update it to show our character portrait and profile picture next to the xp bars, add xp sound fx when you lvl up.
I wish they'd hire a stronger social media team that cares about the game, I feel like their social media is lackluster often
-Add online co-op
-Add online bot fights back for people that want to play casually/not vs real people. This mode was in the beta and was fun
-Bring back xp boost items
-Bring back refresh/skip mission button (use once a day)
-Add categories at the top in the shop to quickly toggle through to reach different sections (fighters, skins, prestige, ringouts, emotes, banners)

Sucks trying out a new character but can’t really explore their perks and depth right away.
Just thought I would throw my hat into the ring for some topics mentioned.
-I can NEVER parry a move coming towards me when I want to.
-As a local TO, I am too afraid to host a tournament for this game that I love because the entry numbers for what I have entered in has been too small!
the moment he said Jake, I knew V0id was about to spit facts. why they do my bad tier dog so dirty!
Multiversus tweeted about the round table
They need to bring back the Arcade ladder system they had before the current version and Rifts need to be turned into a more coherent “story mode” it feels all over the place
This is my favorite content on MVS. Amazing game, just needs a bit of polish, and I wish it had an offline scene.
I love this game and want to see it do well but after taking a 2 week break the game just felt bad to play, and rifts are extremely uninteresting to me so I just went back to Tekken 8
This game need more defensive tools. I hate what we got right now.
Every step forward feels like two steps backwards.

player first games, start taking notes!
Going from from super slippery in the beta to super super slow in the release just was extremely jarring experience. They should've just toned down the air dodges n kept the speed
30:00 WhyDo referenced let's gooo
I played once at full release and it felt so bad compared to the beta that I just uninstalled. It's hard to explain but it felt like I was playing underwater. It would take significant physics changes for me to return.
Multiversus feels like it came from a universe where smash never existed and is the closest things to it they can get there
What I can think of myself: the game needs its mentioned problem areas adjusted/fixed, and I think its a huge L that PFG are not clearly supporting or advertising tournaments and the Esport side of the game..
They don’t advertise it because the game sucks now. Any 1’s gameplay now would be a literal camp fest. Almost every aspect of the beta was better.
Thanks for addressing the Jake situation. Seriously it’s ridiculous what they are doing
They straight up LIED & that lost my trust. “New moves will be added when moves are on cooldown.” Literally didn’t do this. Marvin still ass
Marvin has way too many cooldowns to make new moves for
Batman new moves
Neutral is beyond boring And it’s clear the devs took elements of other platform fighters and put them into multi-verses without realizing why those mechanics we’re in their perspective games in the first place
After season 1 uninstalled.
Samurai Jack launch killed the game imo it hasn’t been as enjoyable since
Edit: Finished the video I’ll add some thoughts:
- The game needs a serious promotional boost/2.0 moment - we’re already into the holiday release season and frankly this week alone, since some major game releases (Sparking Zero/D4 expansion) , is the first time I’ve legitimately started running into the same players online over and over again.
The re-launch that the game was down for a year because of? That was their 2.0 😢
Idk if anyone else has experienced this but rank has been garbage for me recently. I'm barley in plat, and for some unholy reason ive been getting put up against people in masters and diamond. I havent faught a single plat player. Shits demoralizing
can they make dodge come out faster so it feels like we can react to moves like in the beta?
I really do like multiversus but i think they really need to listen to the fans on the balancing changes. The fact that Jack has been hit with the nerf bat multiple times but they havent touched black adam, joker bugs or wonder woman is baffling. Hit boxes and hurt boxes need to be adjusted too. Theres no reason someone should be hit while theyre behind someone attacking
Nah WW ass bro lmfaoo
@@pretzelssb4153anyone that says WW sucks cannot be high ranked in 2’s lol she’s still good in teams and I see her at least every few games. I bet you think Steven sucks too. Just admit you’re in gold lil bro😂

We need 3v3 crew battle
Hey, you did get them to add the Void-dash 😂
3 hours?! Holy yapp sesh
Multiversus is the type of game that will collaborate with KSI, by showing gameplay while blasting Thick of it.
Bro somehow I believe this could happen
i think multiversus wouldnt blast shit in our ears
Maybe they could add more branches to all characters
N free movement
N have like a combo breaker or substitution system then they could get away with some of the broken stuff. Iron giant has one but make it where instead of being an attack it could be a defensive only tool
Is it me or did they remove the ability for IG to do its IAD combo?
- Smoke bomb turns into the explosive gel that you remote detonate (Arkham games)
- Batarang (ground) turns into a cape spin that stuns but does low damage and knockback (Arkham games)
- Batarang (in air) turns into scatter bombs that stun but do low damage and knockback (Injustice)
- Bat bomb cooldown still enhances his fists but varying button presses give them a different debuff: 1 press - electrified/applies shocked, 2 presses - ignite/damage over time, 3 presses - ice/applies frozen or a slow
Honestly they should give everyone more moves. Perhaps I'm overthinking all of this but Batman and imo several other characters are boring to watch, play, fight against.
TL;DR make boring moves look cool and give characters more cool stuff
19:59 no one is complaining about standard shaggy side b lol. Its enraged shaggy side b that is SUPER fast, has insane range, and a bunch of other buffs that make the attack ridiculous
edit: ????????????? there is more then enough time to punish shaggy side b what are we talking about?
If they are enraged you literally just need to play patiently until its gone, if they are not enraged its extremely easy to avoid. Its not a hard move to punish, but the move is still very strong when enraged
@@TJDOW you dodge guess what you burned dodge meter and now you’re too far too punish as opposed to if there was a block mechanic now you can block it and punish you don’t see how bad the game is defensively when you play smart players and they know your only options are jump or dodge my big hit box moves it’s impossible to find windows to punish them I’ve got so many hours in this game when ever I play grand master or just good players in general they all expose the fact that you can’t block certain moves so you have no choice but do the options I know you have
@@ITS_NIN10DOUGHBOY_YT that's only if you dodge away. Dodge through, dodge up, don't dodge at all and just jump over him and then spike him into the floor. Im sorry bro it aint that hard at all
@@TJDOW either way dude shaggy kick is not the best example wether you want to accept or not multiversus is bare bones compared to other platform fighters it’s a very simple and easy pick up game that any body can master within a week or two of play hell sometimes a day cause some characters are just that easy to pick up if the most optimal combos for every character revolves around jab jab into what ever special move I want that’s not good dude
Ledge and platform play needs a rework I think. The invisible walls and bad hit boxes need to be fixed all around. It’s all to inconsistent
Question for Void, are you okay with the game succeeding in a way you don't like or approve of? Because if I'm being totally honest, it seems like alot of people only want Multiversus to be successful the way THEY WANT IT TO.
Custom game modes alla halo 3 would work super well with this game
I'm only plat in ranked and I have 12k character currency and all characters. I only had like 7 unlocked from beta.
Would some sorte of public test server work? Because most of the time seems like their nerfs / buffs aren't tested at all. New characters are either overturned or have some abuseable bullshit that they have to take down and make a move useless. It really sucks. I really like the game but everytime I get tired of the the same problems it has. Hopefully when a year has passed, most of these problems are taken care of and Multiversus becomes a good game.
Me when i get my opponent in burn out: Can't touch this...
2:09:58 i understand they want to make money but waiting 3 days is nothing if was a week or a month it would be worse
i think a really big problem that nobody ever talked about is that the game doesnt have local multiplayer.
Void at evo: Nakat 😁
Void now: Nakat 😒
Why can batman spam grapple? Then if he realizes he screws up grapple he can just cancel...
Why can stripe blow himself out of any combo?
Why do i get put against grand masters and masters while im in gold or plat?
An "experimental" mode much like brawlhalla. Should help with balance.
Do you reckon 1v1 and 2v2 formats are affecting the game design?
And now we have Fighters Road... I can't even with WB... how do you go from bad to worse...
imagine if u cant use dash in burnout, but after 1 knockback/up/down, you recover full? 😏😏
I miss the off stage gameplay from beta
Fix the hit boxes the game is fun but don’t feel good
So glad I don’t play this game like a sweat. Much easier to enjoy when you just play instead of worrying about extra shit 😂
I feel like everyone just wants to be a competitive god that wins every tournament when they play this game
@@Right_BumperI mean they added ranked for a reason. I only play ranked maybe once a week while I log in to play free for alls everyday. It’s a shame the balance is poo water.
im surprised you guys can talk about this game for 3 hours lol
@nuibaba280 would you rather a fun game or a spectator friendly/casuals game?
@@MrTMNTdonatello Except beta was a novelty that stopped being fun because gameplay devolved to just dodge spam. Void outright says he stopped having fun with beta gameplay.
@nuibaba280 that doesn't mean others didn't thoroughly enjoy that gameplay over this lol. To each their own. I give MVS about a year unless they iron out these issues
The game is really fun still, BUT, it’s not perfect. Like a cupcake given to you at work, it’s not bad, it’s tasty, but it can be much bigger, like a piece of cake.
Dogshit analogy lol
@ITS_NIN10DOUGHBOY_YT damn you speaking facts 💯

Oh here is void again looking like he just woke up per usual 😂
The slow pacing and spam moves have absolutely killed this game. 1’s is just a campfest. Beta was better in almost every aspect.
It isn’t too late lmao. It’s a small game
@@Mr.L9 It literally is. We're years in with over 30 fighters, spent too long building its own identity and robust roster. To shoehorn grabs/block means 100+ unique animations in total. You're not getting shield.
This kinda stuff is what we need to stop doing
Telling them to add stuff that Smash had would make this game lose it's identity
Some of the game's issues that are the most annoying are the ones that shouldn't be issues at all
Again, I don't want just another Smash Bros, dime a dozen clone.
