Most people wouldn’t know this, but Jon diesta the art director for this game is the same one from Disney infinity and it’s super apparent when you look at the styles.
That makes a ton of sense. Disney Infinity wasn't a perfect game (it was pretty bad actually) but it did a fantastic job of representing tons of franchises in one cohesive art style.
Damn, first Disney Infinity getting gutted, and now Multiverse going through freemium hell with an extremely conflicted fanbase. Poor guy can't catch a break.
I still remember your tweet in response to the announcement that multiversus will have full-fledged voice acting feeling like Mr Incredible from the Incredible 2 when he found out that Elastigirl saved an entire train without any casualties.
The worst part about my 400+ hours of MVS (release, not beta) has to be the fact that, no matter how much hope I have for this game to succeed and no matter who I ask, I and many others have NO IDEA what is going on. We know mid season patches are coming but no idea what's in them until AT BEST the day before. We have a community manager that leaves the community unmanaged and tweets more about 2XKO than Jabversus. Multiversus twitter, PFG, and even the community representatives like NAKAT and AJAX are more interested in saying beetlejuice beetlejuice than anything that will give hope to it's tired playerbase. The entire gameplay can be summed up to be "fishes for nair", "fishes for jab", and "sucks don't play them". For a game that supposedly discourages camping, clinging to the wall and not interacting with your opponent until they get impatient and whiff is the best gameplay strategy. Those big flashy moves that would normally be punished by shielding aren't even punishable now since 99% of the moves you think would have any sort of whiff lag just don't? It sucks that they preached greater communication when the best we get is a showcase of something that nobody cares about because the fundamental core of the game is equivalent to Chernobyl.
Big Chungus is already a character in the Looney Tunes mobile game, meaning there is already a model, moveset, and voice lines ready to go He will arrive soon.
Really, really well done! I did my own deep-dive review of MultiVersus awhile back, but even after wallowing through this game myself for weeks, it was still insightful to see it from the perspective of a) someone doing everything free-to-play, b) someone who's seen months more post-launch work done, and c) someone who's studied Federal Trade Commission publishings LMAO
Yeah this game is a massive disappointment. Also quick sidenote the GAME RUNS WORSE in lower end devices the beta I could play 4 player local in my laptop no problem. Now with the engine switch it's a lot more resource intensive and lags on my laptop
The Reindog point reminds me of this one time AlphaRad mentioned on a video that on one his sponsored Multiversus videos, he had poked fun on a lot of the characters, silly jabs and insults, and whoever was in charge of making sure the video was up to WB standards was okay with all of it.... Except Reindog, any jab like "Reddit bait dog" or things of the sort was asked to be removed because they cared too much about Reindog
For some strange reason, Reindog has never been available as a free rotation character since the launch. Joker managed to be playable for free before Reindog.
@@Moi_Ariimagine if Reindog is something like one of the developer’s children’s ideas? Would you be cool with people shitting on your kids stuff? Video Game Devs include homages to people they care about frequently

the community for this game is literally masochists. I don't get how people are like "this game COULD be incredible" Like they took AN ENTIRE YEAR TO REWORK THE GAME ON A NEW ENGINE AND MADE IT WORSE, what kind of copium do you need to smoke to still think there is a possibility to pull a "no mans skys" WHEN THIS IS their "no mans skys" and it flopped, twice.
Genuinely feels like this game treats its "Free To Play" players as "Free"loaders. At every turn in PvE, you're paying money. At some points where you would need to spend money, you could have bought a new and better game, (and often not even pay) for the amount of money you spent.
WhyDo I need you to know that this review is some of the most incredible games journalism I've ever seen. This is such a thorough dissection of every aspect of a major release analyzing every element and choice that make up the final product, and most impressively you did it completely and entirely in good faith. I so desperately hope the lead devs at Player First Games get a chance to see this and maybe even more importantly, the correct mid-level exec at WB games. This is a thorough and earnest step-by-step guide for both the developers and the business office to turning this disaster into something beautiful complete with industry comparisons to aspire to that helps more removed higher-ups understand the actual value proposition of implementing these changes. "Multiversus is a game where the whole is so much worse than the sum of its parts" ........... damn.

@@rigboy1234 I never played it but I remember finding out about it as a kid, watching gameplay, getting super excited about it and then being horribly disappointed to find out that it was no longer purchasable on steam. Game legit looked pretty fun tho iirc.
Lmao looking back I might value 'fun' a little too much... I did have a lot of initial fun in doubles, but to me a 4/10 game is where games start to have 0 redeeming qualities. Yes this one is pure evil but if it's evil AND chaotic/fun for a while... it gets a few points!
@@WhyDo I don't know, I have very little experience in the game but 4/10 sounds right to me from what I've played plus what I learned from this video, but everyone has different standards for a __/10 rating system so it's understandable. @@WhyDoI say this with as much enthusiasm and love I can give this game: it is mid. If you throw out the parts of it that are a crime, it is a game built by and for a focus group. It aspires to being average, and it almost succeeds at that. It’s not a complete trainwreck, but it did turn somebody into paste. It is lovable in a way only a kusoge can be, and it also has Bugs Bunny. The audience for “clearly broken in funny ways” fighters has always been there, and the only knock it has for the sadists who play the Sailor Moon fighting game is microtransactions and the live service model
when you brought up the characters unlocked timeline I genuinely thought you were about to say that you permanently lost access to the Iron Giant after they released him from balancing prison which does not reflect well on the rest of the game
Why would you complement the game like that when it charged you money for almost all its characters? Overwatch gives you all the characters for free, hell, not even Smash does that, and that's after you pay up front for the game!
I wish more people talked about the literally illegal practices this game does. Also, there's still plenty of people who bought Founder packs in the beta and STILL DO NOT HAVE THEIR FOUNDER PACKS FROM THE BETA and Warner Brothers support *refuses* to respond to them or give them refunds. All they reply with is "we're investigating" and ghosting them. It's such crap.
I recently did the Shuckle part for MockRock's 'Ranking ALL 1025 Pokémon As Smash 6 Fighters!' - it was a lot of fun and he was great to talk to - however I can confirm we are not the same person, as there is nobody on this Earth who is a bigger fan of Shuckle than me. @@WhyDoI’d love if you did more collabs with him if the opportunity ever comes around as when it comes to smashtubers or anything around that environment you two basically the only ones I watch.
Man that animation bit is such an eye opener. Like you, I always felt like something was off but could never put it into words. But now it totally makes sense. I never noticed just how much characters just glide along the floor if they're still doing an aerial attack when hitting the ground. Some animations look good but how the actual movement of the character around the stage doesn't match. Wonder Woman's forward special attack is a good example; the actual anticipation of her charging up the attack is there but she slows down her momentum and then gains it in the punch but it moves her whole body very stiffly. It doesn't help that you can even control her momentum, almost making it look like she barely moved. From a gameplay perspective it's somewhat nice to be able to have that control but visually it doesn't look right at times.
I'd heard that rumor too, but I couldn't find any evidence for it, let me know if you find anything! I mostly just saw the trademark filing (which is terrifying)
Towards the end I was starting to get worried cause we got to the end of the ice burg without any mention of the illegal stuff. The last 10 minutes by far did not disappoint and made it up completely
It was so funny seeing Meowmix absolutely exasperated with this game knowing he was one of the best players for both Super Shrek Slam and Kirby Fighters 2, both certified kusoge
I believe they added Reindog to put a purely support character Have a character that isn't really prone to violence, and is just here to protect and help his friends and allies Yes, I have seen the Iron Giant, why do you ask?
45:51 Hi, survivor of Gundam Evolution here, yes, having missions locked behind battle passes and premium-locked characters (of whom can only be unlocked by extreme grind or extortionate prices) DOES suck and it DOES taper off the player count and health of a game, and it DOES lead to the servers shutting down.
I just found out that the art designers for disney infinity worked on multiversus, and I also found out that disney infinity has a steam version that includes all the characters without the toy to life crap, and after playing it I can confirm that despite being a sanbox game that basically plays like the lego games, it has better fighting game gameplay than multiversus. At least that shit has a block button.

HARLEY QUINN PAY TO WIN SMASH BROS TWIN. I was just vibing and having a great time and suddenly whydo flies out of my headphones and smacks me across the face at mach 20. Excellent.
I'm just repeating mockrock's video here, but the engine switch was apparently largely to do with needing to rework the game to make rollback netcode work, and given community response and lack of playability of all other online solutions for fighters, that one's more understandable than "so shaggy's sandwich would have 15 more pixels"
This was acknowledged and I'm pretty disappointed whydo didn't make this point. Seems like a weird thing to not give them credit for. One of the biggest problems with the beta was the net code. Making a new engine to fit the net code fixes one of their biggest problems. They did screw the pooch in just about everything else tho
@@drdepression4605 Whydo was right to call out that the marketing implied it was for graphical fidelity, and that a year wasnt nearly enough time for that changeover, but I agree its an important addendum.

In any case, I feel like the “graphical fidelity” excuse is less about being dishonest or dumb, and more about the fact the game is built for people who think UI Shaggy is still funny and don’t know what rollback means
I genuinely think the reason Multiverses has the physics it does is because the dev team showed it to the WB execs and they were like “I don’t understand any of this could you slow it down?” Same with the Unreal Engine switch, feels like the Execs went “well you’re using Unreal 4, why not update to that new one?” Understanding nothing at all other than ‘more recent and made the mandolorian’

He has given his girlfriend almost all of his money without receiving anything in return, but is still keeping the relationship going in hopes that she will better herself in the future (it's not going to happen).
I was just coming to say this same thing. "Multiversus never hurt me." Bruh, Multiversus stole $250 from you and didn't give you anything for it. They have genuinely hurt him. It's sad to see. :(
Adding on a bit: - The perk system is incredibly shallow even compared to the beta. A dozen of the perks were removed, and many of the remaining ones are still useless. At most, you're going to have two perks sets: one that's anti-projectile, and one for everything else. - The game tries to hide mission requirements constantly. It will ask for a detective character, from DC, and it only counts if you play PVP. Stipulations on progress like these can make the game immensely frustrating, as you will have any one of those things but still be unable to complete the mission. This is compounded by many of the fighter categories being straight up wrong. You would expect Marvin, a character focused on reversing projectiles, to be a mage yeah? Nope he is an assassin for some reason. Because obviously someone who enjoys Finn and Arya is going to enjoy spammy martian man. - The game has nearly no way to check your long term stats. It will give you your recent winrate, but you can't check past seasons results or anything. The game bullies you into grinding but then hides how long you have actually been grinding. - For a game labelled as a 'platform fighter,' there are almost no platforms on most stages. The vast majority of stages are long, flat planes with no hazards but low ceiling blastzones. And on the stages with platforms, they provide only the most basic movement opportunities and expressions you can think of.
Good points - the perk thing really is sad, too. Perks in CoD generally have a big impact on the way you play, giving you new abilities or things to do... but these perks definitely feel very 'tacked on' in comparison. The only one I thought was truly cool was the gravity cancel thing (and you have to sacrifice midair parries for it...) In CoD a perk will let me sneak up on people like a ninja, hack enemy equipment, dive onto the objective without worrying about explosives... in MvS I'm like 'oh awesome! 5% more damage!' 'oh cool! 7% more damage!' 'wow! my melee attacks do slightly more damage!'
"I've spent over $250 on this game" and "Multiversus never has hurt me" do NOT belong in the same paragraph as each other... Spending 250 dollars on a single game should never be considered _normal._
I'm very glad this video exists because never before did i think i'd learn about a new low in the gaming industry like this. Also thanks for giving me a new meme to laugh about, i think i will spam reindog in my friends' dms a lot from now on (until it stops being funny to me)
Thank you for pointing out the air attack momentum changing. I've been trying to explain to others how awful it feels. More than characters feeling "slow" or "floaty", having to watch the animation complete before touching the ground just looks terrible
This video's quality is so good. I think it's the Analogies for me, they are random but fun and help to describe more broad topics while not having to think too hard at the example. Also, your video essays are extremely well-paced, it perfectly moved through the iceberg metaphor and even insulted the game with its own mission system to get a higher review score.
I've been a developer working with Unreal for a few years now, enough to have to go from UE4 to UE5. So if I had to guess for why they had to change engine : A bit of context first : Ue5 is mostly just an update of ue4. It's pretty much the same engine with a few new stuff and some of its features finally properly useable (more on that later). It's totally possible to launch a "small" or "medium" UE4 project on UE5, and have it work with little to nothing to do. For bigger projects, it's usually harder, as they tend to use more complex engine's features that are very likely to change and break from an engine version to another. Now for why it's actually very long and complex to switch from UE4 to UE5 : Unreal Engine is a broken mess, hold together by the sweat, blood and tears of any (now caffeine addicted) developer who had to touch it. To deal with this issue, it's very common, if not mandatory, for studios to develop their own internal version of the engine, which makes updating to a new official version go from hard to hellish. I let you guess where going from UE4 to UE5 is on the scale of a game like multiversus. So why did they change the engine: First, the new engine versions tend to introduce features who are easier to use, more convenient and just overall better than their old counterpart. If you have for objective to update your game for several years, updating regularly your version of UE for those features is a pretty good idea. Second: bug fixes, Unreal has bugs that are pretty much unfixable without updating your engine version. Third : Tech update, it gets more rare as time go on, but it's still common to have older games having a hard time being run on new PC config. Regularly updating your engine is a way to prevent this. As mentioned earlier, Unreal is broken and a lot of its modern features were marked as "experimental" (aka broken) in UE4. For a simple, way too personal, example : There is no intended way in UE4 to remap your keyboard and controller in game, you have to do a lot of work and find workarounds to do it. In UE5, there is a proper way, which is very different from any of the workaround you could've done. So you pretty much have to throw your works and redo it. Except this time it should be safe from breaking in a future engine update and easier to maintain in the long run. (It's rarely a good idea to base your project on workaround and old tech, as they tend to introduce bugs and issues as the development and maintenance go. For example: TF2 code is a nightmarish mess as it was build on workaround and contains a lot of now obsolete techs). In summary : I'm pretty sure they updated the engine to make long terms maintenance and development of the project easier. To be fair, they probably didn't really need to go for the engine change, but I mostly wanted to say that the choice was probably more complicated than just : It's for better lighting.
A quick note on the UI looking exactly like Fortnite, (for those who still want to read my awful english): UE5 has one of the best UI system you can get in any engine, but programming for controller support for UE's UI is a huge pain in the behind. So to not become mad from doing the implementation, developers will either go for the copy fortnite option, the fake cursor one or both. (It doesn't really excuse the crappy changes, but I find this a bit funny)
Out of curiosity, I went to the developer's page, and the main team members I saw were folks who worked on: •God of War 3 •God of War Ascension •League of Legends •Star Chasers •Jedi: Fallen Order •Teamfight Tactics •Hawken And several folks from Activision-Blizzard or other Call of Duty studios. From this, I conclude that yes, they are lacking experience from balancing fighting games, but I do see a lot of things in Multiversus that you can find in a lot of the games here.
When you talked about the Discord, I had a horrifying realization. This game might be the modern Kusoge. The fact that this is even a possibility for a game backed by Warner Bros. in the modern day is astounding.
It makes me so sad that so much multiversus content on youtube is negative and that it gets so much bad press in general. It makes me even sadder that most of it is compleatly warranted. I love this game and have loved it since the beta and I want it tu succeed so badly
As long as Warner keeps being Warner, it's not going to get better. I can only hope that when the game inevitably shuts down, that fans will be able to make an offline version with none of the money grubbing BS
I'm so happy that you brought other platform fighters that aren't smash or smash clones. Platform fighters nowdays always have to be a crossover with a damage-percentage based system and the same directional inputs as smash
I read the EULA on my games before I play. I'm not a lawyer, but I felt something off from MultiVersus's EULA. To the point that, despite my excitement for the Beta, for the first time in my life I said "I'm not using this because I don't agree with the Terms of Service". After seeing this video, I consider that to be one of the best decisions I have made.
Recently they updated the game allowing you to play with all characters in offline mode, making the in-person game actually competitive! Wow that’s impressive isn’t it gang. If u can’t tell that’s sarcasm. But they did fix it, so I think that’s a +0.2 review score at least, making it a 5.533 (repeating 3)
Masterpiece video. I knew the relaunched game was dire, but I didn't realise just how bad it was when not playing on an account with legacy beta content. 1:02:16 this might be my favorite bait and switch joke, you just start talking about cod after not (at least i dont recall you talking about cod extensively till now) even bringing it up during the vid and thats so funny
As an Iron Giant main I think I have an understanding of why he's the way he is. The game was designed WITHOUT him in mind, to explain it further Iron Giant's design of a character that's slow, most of his moves are slow, and he has big ass hurt boxes. This design in a game like smash would be annoying but could still function since he'd have stuff like shields, grabs, and more defensive options against characters who are just faster then him, but this game doesn't have shields. As a result characters like Superman, Wonder Woman, Tom & Jerry, Steven, Finn, Jake, Jason, Black Adam, Morty, Rick, Lebron James, Samurai Jack, Jo-yeah you get it EVERY CHARACTER CAN TRAP YOU IN INESCAPABLE COMBOS THAT CAN TAKE YOU FROM 10% - 90-100+% Most of these situations include moves that can hit you multiple times making parrying worthless and giving you little time to dodge, and even if you dodge you're so big they'll just scoop you up again. This game isn't designed to have a character like IG and its so clear comparing his kit with other tanks how easy it can be to just screw him over without even breaking a sweat. They probably saw this in testing and thought "Well shit! How can this character do anything if you can just trap him in combos you can't really counter? I guess we just need to give him a way to break combos mid game." Then we got the spark, during the Beta it functioned extremely differently being more focused on how many screws you collect and having those screws take hits for you while you just had super armor, but now is just a burst that you can use to break out of combos. It's just a bandaid for a bigger problem with IG's design that can just barely work.
I agree heavily with the most important points of the video Shaggy having meme powers is perfectly fine, but him not knowing the difference between pastrami on rye and a club sandwich is an horrific butchering of the character and completely unacceptable. 0/10

@@XAVIERTHEDOOFUS I enjoy the game, I cope that it can only get better, but nahhh that kid was still getting new acc juicers and didn't realize it. Cause getting characters in this game feels like "Ok, me and each kid can all pick a character based on who we (canonically) like. After that we need to save up for the rest of the season if we want anyone actually good". Also of course you need whoever is locked behind the battle pass too if you plan on playing ranked.
Honestly I'd have been down to pay a few bucks for characters I can have fun with and play with friends. But when you think a smash dlc character basically cost 5 bucks (without counting stage and music) and compare it to what they ask you for characters in multiversus... The worth just isn't there. Add that to the fact for a while you couldn't even try characters before buying them... It's just sad man.
Regarding the big chungus copyright thing, no idea if you're aware but there's a loony tunes mobile game where big chungus is a unit so warner bros have already used him as a character, sort of.
Reindog explained (sort of): There is a lot of evidence in the files of the beta tests, and from the actual devs, that show that the game was initially going to be a fantasy-themed platform fighter, with very few actual "known" characters (they were planning on having Gandalf in that version but he was removed, and his attacks were recycled into Rick's? That's what I've heard at least, but there is a screenshot going around of Gandalf on the unused level in the files). Reindog was the original idea for a character that was supposed to be just a random fighter in the original version, and seemed to be much more of a bruiser character (you can see in the concept art that Reindog looks pretty strong compared to now, where they cutesy'd him up a lot) "Some of the strings inside the game's code refer to Reindog as "Creature" or "Rex"." - MVS unofficial wiki Also Banana Guard was programmed in as a PVE enemy in the actual adventure mode that they had scrapped for the pay-to-win PVE they have now, he was just going to be a random mob at first and there was an item in free-for-all which spawned him as well.
Honestly I'm a big fan of Reindog's inclusion purely because of the fact that they have full creative freedom over him, but I believe the files also had info for atleast 2 more characters from the original game idea coming to this game and I'd like for them to be added in as well. Also I agree on the idea of making the original characters free.
do you know of any post/video/website with additional information on this more original concept version? literally everything about the game and why it turned out like it did makes more sense knowing about this, down to the unfitting style of music.
I just wanted to say, I'm really glad you called out the animations and sound design of Smash. We usually think of those things as just fluff, if we even think of them at all, but they're incredibly important to making a game *visceral*. That's especially important to engaging with a fast-paced action-heavy game like a platform fighter.
This is my introduction video to your channel and let me just say, im here to stay. Absolute banger video. I've felt some type of way about this game and couldn't put my finger on it and this just describes it perfectly.
I think it's ironic that the "get Agent Smith free" scam is only possible to see through if you've already broken out of the Skinner Box dopamine Matrix of microtransactions beforehand.
I always forget how small WhyDo's channel actually is. By far my favorite platform fighter RUclipsr. He deserves so much more attention. Yknow hes just one of my favorite youtubers in general
So happy someone addressed the fact it's insane they just simply took a whole ass fighter out of the a game for a while. I understand he's broken but taking a character, that many people likely paid for, out and unplayable is simply not okay.
As a game developer. the phrase "We decided to switch to UE5" drives me insane! I am convinced these companies only do it to slap the "UE5" buzzword on their game. Most of them dont need UE5's features. The "Lighting features" the devs mentioned is a system called lumen....which is a system for making hyper realistic lighting, and is not meant for stylized games such as multiverses. And it in fact makes stylized games look worse. (or requires significantly more work to make it look good, as opposed to UE4's default lighting solution.) 90% of games making the switch from UE4 to UE5 do not need to do so, especially since they have been doing fine with UE4. I even explicitly choose UE4 as opposed to UE5 when starting new games, cause some features were removed that make specific genre's of games and specific art styles harder to achieve in UE5. (It all depends on the needs of the project in question. Also the UI stuff they say is BS. The UI system in UE4 and UE5 is identical. Works exactly the same way, and when you migrate to UE5 it automaticly updates your UIs. There may be some compiler errors, but that doesn't require rebuilding from scratch.
Haha thanks for your input, that makes sense. On my end, very much not a pro game dev, but I've been working on a game in Godot for a while... and if I was on a team and someone said: 'hey, you know this project we've been working on for years? Let's switch it from Godot 3 to Godot 4!" I think my head would explode.
I have over 2k hours in the game counting beta/full release. Great video, entertaining while bringing up many of the issues that plague MVS. I'm one of the rare people who completed every rift solo and maxed all gems without spending. I'd say it was a boring mindless grind 95+% of the time, with around 5% being fun challenges on the highest difficulty. Definitely not worth the massive time investment and I don't think many casuals would be able to do it.

Popping off for a brief glimpse of Risk of Rain 2/Woolie and remembering what good game design looks like before returning to the horrors
Adding on a bit:
- The perk system is incredibly shallow even compared to the beta.
The only one I thought was truly cool was the gravity cancel thing (and you have to sacrifice midair parries for it...)
In CoD a perk will let me sneak up on people like a ninja, hack enemy equipment, dive onto the objective without worrying about explosives... in MvS I'm like 'oh awesome! 5% more damage!' 'oh cool! 7% more damage!' 'wow! my melee attacks do slightly more damage!'

Once I discovered the Bangers font, it was over
I've been a developer working with Unreal for a few years now, enough to have to go from UE4 to UE5. So if I had to guess for why they had to change engine :
A bit of context first :
Ue5 is mostly just an update of ue4.
So why did they change the engine:
First, the new engine versions tend to introduce features who are easier to use, more convenient and just overall better than their old counterpart.
A quick note on the UI looking exactly like Fortnite, (for those who still want to read my awful english):
UE5 has one of the best UI system you can get in any engine, but programming for controller support for UE's UI is a huge pain in the behind. So to not become mad from doing the implementation, developers will either go for the copy fortnite option, the fake cursor one or both.
(It doesn't really excuse the crappy changes, but I find this a bit funny)
When a youtube video is so obsessive and pedantic that it references a scratch game, I kneel and subscribe
Out of curiosity, I went to the developer's page, and the main team members I saw were folks who worked on:
•God of War 3
•God of War Ascension
•League of Legends
•Star Chasers
•Jedi: Fallen Order
•Teamfight Tactics
•Hawken
And several folks from Activision-Blizzard or other Call of Duty studios.

As a result characters like Superman, Wonder Woman, Tom & Jerry, Steven, Finn, Jake, Jason, Black Adam, Morty, Rick, Lebron James, Samurai Jack, Jo-yeah you get it EVERY CHARACTER CAN TRAP YOU IN INESCAPABLE COMBOS THAT CAN TAKE YOU FROM 10% - 90-100+%
Most of these situations include moves that can hit you multiple times making parrying worthless and giving you little time to dodge, and even if you dodge you're so big they'll just scoop you up again.
I agree heavily with the most important points of the video
Shaggy having meme powers is perfectly fine, but him not knowing the difference between pastrami on rye and a club sandwich is an horrific butchering of the character and completely unacceptable. 0/10
I agree, its soooo bad. I liked the game at first and was going to watch a whydo video cause I love his channel, and ended up completely enflamed in rage at how dogcrap it is and it deserves so much fraud lawsuits. this sucks, they should just follow nickelodeon.

"Sounds like a skill issue" Ohh, that made my blood boil for a minute.
They all do it
A lot of multiversus players are like this it's very annoying
LMAO I had no idea about this, that's comforting (?) to hear... unless..
...it's THE FIRST OF MANY
I loved the part when Agent Smith said "It's freein' time" and issued the Emancipation Proclaimation on January 1, 1863
I spent most of my data to watch this and i have no regrets
Thank you for your sacrifice
Reindog explained (sort of):
There is a lot of evidence in the files of the beta tests, and from the actual devs, that show that the game was initially going to be a fantasy-themed platform fighter, with very few actual "known" characters (they were planning on having Gandalf in that version but he was removed, and his attacks were recycled into Rick's? That's what I've heard at least, but there is a screenshot going around of Gandalf on the unused level in the files).
Reindog was the original idea for a character that was supposed to be just a random fighter in the original version, and seemed to be much more of a bruiser character (you can see in the concept art that Reindog looks pretty strong compared to now, where they cutesy'd him up a lot)
"Some of the strings inside the game's code refer to Reindog as "Creature" or "Rex"." - MVS unofficial wiki
Also Banana Guard was programmed in as a PVE enemy in the actual adventure mode that they had scrapped for the pay-to-win PVE they have now, he was just going to be a random mob at first and there was an item in free-for-all which spawned him as well.
I will watch this video every day until it gets big enough that we finally get the FTC crossover added to the game.
Samurai Jack's up special description has a typo
The FTC example mentions a company making false claims, and Multiversus LITERALLY has false "claims."
So happy someone addressed the fact it's insane they just simply took a whole ass fighter out of the a game for a while. I understand he's broken but taking a character, that many people likely paid for, out and unplayable is simply not okay.
They did my homie Jason dirty (I still like his design, that’s like the one thing I like about Multiversus)
@@Cubeytheawesomethis was sent before he got to Jason but the fact it happened TWICE is disgusting
I think there's an unwritten rule that once a cororation tries to make money off a meme, it's dead. This game thusly killed ultra instinct shaggy
This game doesn't have Shaggy it has Baggy
As a game developer. the phrase "We decided to switch to UE5" drives me insane! I am convinced these companies only do it to slap the "UE5" buzzword on their game. Most of them dont need UE5's features.
The "Lighting features" the devs mentioned is a system called lumen....which is a system for making hyper realistic lighting, and is not meant for stylized games such as multiverses. And it in fact makes stylized games look worse. (or requires significantly more work to make it look good, as opposed to UE4's default lighting solution.)
90% of games making the switch from UE4 to UE5 do not need to do so, especially since they have been doing fine with UE4.
5.3 is definitely way more generous than j expected
Thank you for making this because I genuinely couldn't get myself to do so. I originally planned to and the longer I went on the life was sapped from my very being. Thank you for suffering for me.
Brawlhalla has a 1 time "buy every moveset and future move sets" purchase. And the only character you have to spend any additional money on are all reskins.
