Amazfit GTS 4 and GTR 4 bring strength training to the smartwatch

- Amazfit has launched its new flagship smartwatches at IFA 2022: the GTS 4 and the GTR 4.
With AMOLED displays, big batteries, and enhanced GPS tracking these are both impressive bits of kit - especially for the €199 price tag - but it's the inclusion of strength training tracking that made Dom sit up and take notice.
Both watches will be able to track up to 25 strength training exercises, including weight lifting, with the Zepp app cataloguing your reps, sets, and rest times, along with letting you know which muscles you're managing to target.

I love my GTS 4 Mini but i wish there was a how to use video or searchable how to for mode available. I can’t get back to the Strength Training to activate before working out

@@victorlogan5038 yeah, we've always known these watches for the battery life (along with fitness tracking features) and the GTR always has a larger, longer lasting battery life on a single charge than the GTS

My GTR 4 arrives in 2 days. Currently wearing a new Galaxy Watch 5 44mm, am curious if it will be able to beat this. I only paid 160 for the galaxy watch due to some discounts, so I don't think anything beats it for that price. However I've always loved Amazfit watches and their very efficient OS. The galaxy watch 5 came with a dual wireless charger while the GTR4 comes with Amazfit's earbuds. Will be interesting to see how they sound.
If you preordered and got the free buds and sold them, you'd be about even to the gw5

Can you exit to the main menu while in the workout mode ?
I usually use the timer between sets so this feature would be a deal braker for me...Thanks!
After all this, it still can't do interval training. The interval timer in the app store is so basic as to be useless!
Just purchased the GTS 3 last week. Whatever, I still enjoy the 3.

@@LeftyPencil nice, but nah the GTS 3 is pretty nice. It's my first fitness smart watch so I don't know what's better out there but from my research price/style/function everything is good enough for me. Also the GTS 4 is so much more expensive!

Video would be much more useful it you just demonstrated strength rep counting because my Garmin has it but it is not useful because it will say 4 reps when I did 10. Also demonstrate GPS accuracy, because they will say it is more accurate but no proof.
Yeah, unfortunately I couldn't test it out myself - I'm a little sceptical about how accurate it will be myself! I haven't tried a Garmin with rep counting though, I'll have to check one out - Dom

Shaun's answer is wrong: gtr4 does connect to HR chest straps monitors via bluetooth.
@@brunops1 Thanks, I've seen that the function has been implemented after lasts updates. Finally it too can pair with external chest strap heart rate monitor.
I'm not sure about the 'affordable' part, definitely gonna disagree with that one
it is affordable compared to anything apple and samsung makes
More affordable than most big brand smart watches
@@lasvista2tech let's be honest, not everybody needs a Galaxy or Apple Watch, a $50-70 fitness tracker works just fine and does the job
Who even uses their watch to reply to messages anyways? Calling is quite understandable but I don't think that someone would type a whole professional level email using his watch, right? And those cheaper fitness tracker watches/smart bands have a 10-15 day battery life (if they have an AMOLED display)
People really need to understand that they don't need to spend that much on these things, I mean I'm not really judging because it's their money but these companies are tricking people into buying this stuff and playing with human physiology
@@notxarizx even the cheapest Amazfit with Alexa can reply to messages via voice w tasker, like the BIP u pro/gts2mini in the $50 area
Silver color on the GTR4 looks awful. Wish they would’ve made a black version..
