Great run down. I've had a 60, 80, 100 and now a 200. I've loved them all for various different reasons and drove the crap out of all of them.

  • @gregjoubert5118

You guys got a great deal on this! There aren't many deals on LC200's Happy you are enjoying it!

  • @EightyFiveHundred

Great info. 18 years of supercharged 80 ownership. Had a 100, with the 80, living in Colorado. The supercharger is the saving grace above 8000’. That said, we are now flat landers at the beach, and the 100 is gone. Looking at adding a 200 because the amount of pavement travel to get from the Beach to the Sierra, Mojave, Baja, etc. The 80 is great, but can barely keep up with traffic on the freeways. Like you said, a 200 seems to be the right balance.

Great subject to talk about - I always enjoy your LC info. I love my 96 FZJ80 (with the original 1FZFE engine and 281k miles) - I live about an hour and a half from Moab - I can do the 80 miles an hour speed limit on I70 - on the flat portions, however, once you are on a hill it slows down for sure - it would be nice to have more power - yeah, I’m jealous of your power 😀. I am lucky to have a Land Cruiser mechanic specialist in my area - so he handles all the servicing for me. We never think twice about going on a long trip, because it is so reliable. Thank you for the video!

  • @saifaljahwari1945

I own both and I agree in every single word

  • @xzerbaluyot9994

I use to have an 80 but now have a 2017 200. I agree with everything you said. New subscriber.

  • @petepeters5630

I believe I have the best of both with 80 axles on my 100. More internal space, a terrific V8 for the highways and the serious off road capabilities of the 80!

  • @ian0841

Great video Tim and Kelsey, you got a great deal on your 200! Beautiful rig.

  • @goku.lc80

Well, I was waiting for this debate for sure. And you probably know my choice 😁. By the way, you forgot to mention the “cool factor” where the 80 wins hands down

  • @kurtchristopher7392

    Great video.

  • @vanillathunder988

Well done. Everything you say makes a lot of sense.

  • @KevIsOffGrid

When I spotted Goose for sale the other month I think it was 30k

  • @NS-wh1cx

Great commentary, I love my 200 and I know it's the better truck for me, but I definitely still search for deals on 80 series trucks daily when I should be working.

  • @philfoote829

    Love it

  • @malithaweragama1023

Man loved it when said, would choose a 1hz over the turbo diesel.

  • @mattgullage6720

Great video. I've had an 80 series for 25 years and it would last another 20, but I want to get a 2016 200 series in a few years for more power and ride quality

  • @DouglasGreen562

I TRY to detract from nature when it's 108 degrees outside 😁

  • @Solvefunction

Sounds like I need one of each..

  • @jalilburdeen8698

Why not both? I have an 80 on 37s and all the good fruit for the gnarly stuff, and a lightly built LX570 for everything else.

  • @PatrickRich

Before I watch it I'm going to say - The 80 series can't POSSIBLY be better in every single way, because F/FZ. The engine and transmission of the 80 can't hold a candle to the 200. EDIT: having watching it I can't fault your logic. I LOVE my 80 and it would be hard to imagine myself in anything else...but...when I drive the wife's GX off road I am always blown away how much better it is on washboards and small high frequency stuff and just being a better highway vehicle.
