corners don’t even play their assignment sometimes i’ve had zone dropped 5 or 0 yard flats drop deep asf and give up a drag. like it don’t make sense sometimes.

That’s because that players overall and not always understanding assignments just like real life

You can click the right stick when picking a play on defense and change the depth for each zone. I put my flats on 0 and they hang around the line of scrimmage for screens and drags. You can also put the other zones closer to the line or deeper depending on your playstyle
I just use 4-2-5 and play single high coverage , I play as the edge rusher to rush the passer and make him run out of pocket I’m 6-0 online so far

This defense with cover 3 and press coverage is a nightmare
Feels like they didn’t skip a beat. The game moves so nice. It has that classic better than madden feel and addictive factor.

Game is annoying for Defense. I just wanna play on a high difficulty and not do 80 adjustments before every play.

Seriously, man. It doesn't matter what you think you know, the defense knows it's coming. Play action is useless, they don't fall for it, does t matter if you've established the run. I have to hot route multiple targets prior to the snap just to have a chance on higher difficulty. Has anyone seen the CPU do a 2 minute drill? They don't fn miss, doesn't matter if you audible the secondary to cover the sideline. They will hit every pass and drop dots. Once you get the ball, they will use all their timeouts, and a player on the opposing team will continuously get hurt like these fn floppers in real life taking a dive to get a stoppage. Game is fn rigged

@@2xDeacon glad I’m. It the only one. Third and long and it is a guarantee they bust a run up the gut for 20 yards or a TD pass while the DBs stand and watch. Defense is broke right now.
My corners in zone defense on heisman are basically non existent even with the elite defenses…

The games defense is unplayable, that’s why you don’t see multiple videos about the “best defense” cuz there isn’t one. 😂 it’s just what we know from madden and using it for clicks.

Such a shame none of the 3-3-5 sets actually show up in the playbook.
Came here to help out now that I have finally started to win some games consistently. So the game is designed for you to win only if you can take away the pass. So get in a 3-3-5. Maybe a cover 3, cover 4 or cover 2 with a spy on the QB and user the linebacker. This will force the cpu to start running. Use the linebacker to follow the running back and help out in the run game. On 3rd down: don’t blitz, notify your defense that a pass is coming and then hover over the middle and follow any receiver that hits your territory. It will create tight coverage, from time to time a coverage sack or forced throws. They will still get there fair share of first downs. They will run on 3rd and 9 and convert at times but what it will do is in most cases cause them to settle for a field goal, and at times a punt or a turnover. If they score 3 consistently, and you score 7 then you can end up winning with wiggle room. Games are usually 31-6 or 24-10, maybe a 24-17 if you turn the ball over or something.
All I gotta say is the game isnt fully out yet so HOPEFULLY theirs a patch for defense because damn lol. Game still fun though.

The only things they need to change is running with your qb is way too overpowered you can set contain and it just still doesn’t work and the hb slip screen is wayyyyyy too overpowered

mid blitz 0 is usually free defense vs all-american cpu or below as well... just fyi.
Loving the game so far, much more challenging than Madden. Actually have to build a real game plan instead of just drop back and throw 60 yard bombs every play. Running game is actually good for once. RIPMadden lol

I feel disappointed in a couple aspects. Bugs, the lack of music in the main screen, lack of modes, some similar issues to madden and then also similar menu’s to madden. A bunch of small things tbh the gameplay is fun and fast.
Definitely agree. There's small things they left out, are glitched or small annoyances in gameplay. But the overall product is fun.

Like others have said the D is horrible. Not only the coverage issues with corners but the angles that AI defenders take to the ball. Or having 3 defenders converging and the ball carrier still gets an extra 5 yards.
I also really liked the option game in 2014. The RPO stuff is cool in 25 but if you try to run Power Read or Inverted Veer you can NOT read the play. You have to guess pre-snap to give the ball. If you read the edge defender for even a split second your QB will always keep the ball.
For the above reasons I am currently quite disappointed in the game.

My thing is that defense is pretty bad at the college level anyways. So I don't mind there being high scoring games. I understand the sentiment & that it's frustrating but at least it's somewhat realistic haha.

You can't change the playbooks for h2h ranked if that's what you're trying to do.

Defense seems literally impossible to score on this year. I’ve tried all the meta plays in playbooks even trick plays and I’ve always considered myself an above average madden player.

Technically you're right but it's close enough to bear front. they're shaded over the guards.

I wish me and my friends could enjoy the dynasty ,teambuilder,etc.I will say the game is fun,Ea did a better job than usual with this game,and when it's functioning properly,team builder included,and less fluke college wins(Ohio state loosing to fcs,Georgia beat decisively by trash team),I'd give this game a 8-8.5

Compared to Madden 24 it seems like the players overall numbers are going up way faster. Will the game keep our interest for the entire year?
Yeah I think this game will be fun all year if you find enjoyment in most of the modes.

to answer your question, im massively disappointed. As someone who never stopped playing ncaa i confidently say, every part of the game is worse except the graphics. EA sucks and they made a bad madden clone into a college version.

Offline dynasty if you change a game on your schedule the game breaks and you can't add a game,switch a game,and proceed without switching them all back.There are glitches everywhe,but when official teambuilder drops,ill ignore the usually ea standards of broken,tilted game yearly,that is launched incomplete,and going to be even more. Broken Months after first patches and it's still animation based,glitches animations of ea's broken game is how influencers dominate and move money

You have to use the off and def playbooks default for that team

It’s too many bugs and glitches I would like it more if I could actually play a fair game without bugs that help people get extra yards or even me. Because it has also been times that I did a play and my opponent defense will glitch which would result to me getting a TD. Which overall isn’t fair and it take away from my enjoyment. I don’t want any easy wins and I also don’t want to be giving away easy wins
