No No.1. player in any sport gets a good situation. Look at the crap team Aliyah Boston got drafter by. And the almost crap team CC got drafted by. Look at the crap coach CC had to be coached by. Every organization in the WNBA has a ton of warts on it. Bueckers has 10 HS All Americans on her team. She will have to settle for a team with only 6.
Yeah that’s the point of the draft. You go to a garbage team to hopefully make them better. And historically it’s worked. This is one way to help maintain some parity in the league. Salary caps are another way. I don’t think it’s fair if the Liberty, Aces, or Lynx got Paige at this point. They can trade for her later but it’s just one downside of being a top player going to the WNBA.
If I were her I’d go back to Connecticut for her last year. She’s had injuries. The W’s a very physical league. If she stayed in college she’d be one of the top players next year. She could make NIL money and go into the weight room and get stronger making her less likely to get injured in the W the following year…while being coached by one of the best coaches in basketball today. Her coach at Connecticut is probably going to be better than any WNBA coach she’s going to have in the W for the rest of her career. She could learn a ton more in basketball by staying…while getting stronger…and making NIL money. I don’t care about her age going into the W. She will still be one of the more potentially talented future players in the WNBA. Her skill sets are still difficult to find in most current WNBA players. The smart thing for her is to stay her last year…but she probably doesn’t. But I would if I were her.
Think college and overseas players should commit to the draft before the lottery. That way, it avoids the possibility of this happening. Don't think the players should be allowed to try to avoid markets that they don't fancy

She won’t stay. She is already getting some criticism for this year. Me personally, I can defend this year. I can’t defend playing 18 year olds from providence in 2026 though. I would be out. Go to Dallas and make the best of it.
I thought she had another of year of eligibility. But a lot of people are saying she didnt. I thought she used a redshirt year but still has a covid year. I cant get any confirmation on this tho
She didn’t play at all due to injury in 22-23, so redshirt. The last group that got a Covid year was 20-21 winter sports, so she gets a Covid year. Def has one more.
Plus Dallas would need to play at the Mavericks arena. There is a reason not to go to Dallas and its that rinky dink arena the Wings play at. Thats not gonna cut it. Dallas needs to have triple the capacity if they want Paige to play there
Dallas has some kind of "state of the art" practice facility under construction and are moving to Dallas in 2026. Looks like the newly renovated building will seat ~9000. That is slightly smaller than the Aces home arena. No one but Clark has had the ability to continually sell out NBA arenas.

Rookie contracts are 3-year deals with a 4th-year team option and the salary is fixed based on draft position. As far as the new CBA, I'm not really sure how that shakes out. Maybe there will be lines in there saying rookie contracts will get bumped up to the equivalent. For example, if you are drafted #5 in 2025, then your 2026 salary will be the new CBA salary number for a #5 pick in their second year. That would be the fair way to do it.
@ I’ll agree, that would be the fair way to do it. I’m just hoping both sides go to the table with realistic wants and offers. It seems like a lot of the finances are intermingled between the two leagues, making it hard to get a true read on any profit and loss. I question why they would allow the league to go on, losing the money they claim to be losing. They simply could have folded the league. They then could have walked away saying we tried to support the women’s league, but the fans did not. I also wonder if these are actual monetary losses or paper losses. The PA should probably get a forensic accounting firm to get the truth. I believe this next season will be very telling, Paige will be coming to the league, will people pay to watch her play? She literally just turned 23 like a couple of weeks ago lol. I’m not the smartest person in the world but I’m pretty sure that’s around a normal age for seniors….
I thought LA were going to get the top pick and she’d for sure come out. It just seemed to fit that she would go to LA. I thought the same thing when Dallas got the top pick. It just doesn’t seem like a fit. Caitlin came out also when she knew she’d be going to Indiana, which was preferred for her.
Paige can do what she wants. She's a grown woman making her own decisions which includes NOT getting tied up into a contract with anyone.
If I was Paige, I'd stay one more tear, I would not want to play with that ball stopper Arike. Paige would do a lot better in LA or Chicago.
Paige is a talented and exciting player but staying for a sixth year would be lame on her part. Paige is 23 years old and time to move on from college.
Can you make a video as to why u feel so strongly negative about the Dallas franchise ? I feel like missing a lot when people bash them
100% she goes back to UConn next year.
Dude u sound dumb Sedona prince will be 25 as a rookie yet u want paige to comeback for a 6th year and be 25 as a rookie too 😂
my hope is she goes to teh draft, angles for a trade to minnesota and helps them get a championship in year 1
If UCONN doesn't win the national, she will return
20% 😂😂😂 the same person who made a video that Kelsey Mitchell was 99% coming back and the next day went to 1% 😂😂😂
If I recall correctly, Paige had an injury year and a COVID year, and I am sure she has only used one of those.
That would be so unfair because then she will break records with 6 years of college ball.
Here you go LYING again. She is 23 years old. She has been to numerous wnba games courtside. She is not staying to avoid a team. If thats the case Indiana was the worse, did Caitlin avoid them ? STOP LYING FOR CLICKS
Nah, she would have the power to just say, "I won't sign with Dallas if they draft me," and force Dallas to trade the #1 pick. She has enough sway for that.
If she says that then she doesn't need to be a 'PROFESIONAL!
what are the options when signing a contract? i thought they weren't signing long term contracts bc of whatever is going on with the players union.
She has to sign a rookie contract, which in present CBA locks you in for three years with a fourth-year team option.
When you declare for the draft, you should lose your college eligibility. The W is run by clowns.
Id go because this is her year and with her the wings would have a great team...
Oh Stop Stop Stop! She's going to the Dallas Wings, and she's fortunate to be going there. Stop with the silly speculation.
She won’t stay. She is already getting some criticism for this year.
Me personally, I can defend this year. I can’t defend playing 18 year olds from providence in 2026 though. I would be out.
Go to Dallas and make the best of it.
What criticism? 🤔
She doesnt want to go the WNBA and deal with CC....Plus not sure her knee would last a season of "Welcome to the league" in the WNBA.
I thought she had another of year of eligibility. But a lot of people are saying she didnt.
I thought she used a redshirt year but still has a covid year.
I cant get any confirmation on this tho
I’d have to look it up to be certain, but surely she has an injury redshirt year. I think it’s granted if under 8 games are played in a season.
She didn’t play at all due to injury in 22-23, so redshirt. The last group that got a Covid year was 20-21 winter sports, so she gets a Covid year. Def has one more.
@JarboBombay Thank you thats wat I thought.
I would not blame her for staying another year she wants to play basketball not be a social activist
Either way, she is gonna be drafted by one of the bottom 4 teams. Unless she goes to play international bb.
What about the new contract in 2026. She would be under the new agreement if she waited a year and not get a bogus rookie contract.
Buddy you sound ridiculous on that Paige Hopium
Why would Satou stay if Paige isn't coming?
This is nonsense. She is leaving. 99.999%
Doesn't everything reset in 2026? Staying the course makes more sense even if you hate where you go.
Assuming that rookie scale goes up in ‘26, I’d stay regardless of team.
What do u mean fully announce she’s ALREADY ANNOUNCED SHES LEAVING 😂 THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO ARE SAYING SHE MAY CHANGE HER MIND ARE THE FANS WHO HATE DALLAS AKA ARIKE 😂
I’m curious how rookie contracts are going to work, I can’t see signing a 4 year contract, knowing there will probably be more money in the 2nd year.
I wonder if the PA would have opted out if things that happened this year had not happened. I know numbers were going up, but was it enough to opt out. That’s why I say realistic wants.
@@gregorybonds-j8m Realistic is the key word. They are still majority owned and subsidized by the NBA, so any deal has to take into account that much of the revenue is going elsewhere.
@@aden538 I think the NBA & WNBA both own 42% each, outside investors own the other 18%. How much will attendance rise in non CC games. Chicago will now have had 4 first round picks in 2 years, after this past years drama how well will they be supported? Lots of questions, not enough answers.
Swoops will not approve such a thing
People already expected they would rig it for LA what a goddamn fumble by the league.
This ain’t WWE.
I can't envision grandmama being the great great grandmother of college basketball. LOL
So if Paige does not enter the draft this year, what happens?
Big difference between Cailtin Clark and Paige. C-Square does it not waffle just like playing last week in the LPGA she Hoops but plays golf also and she did it quit hiding Paige either you in or out
If that happens she needs to b roasted. Clark didn't cherry pick.
Yes stay and play a 6th season at the age of 25 against 18 year olds 😂😂 very smart but we know paige is not staying Geno is going to make her go ❤
If she wins the Natty, 100% gone.
Agreed - and if she doesn't, she might REALLY tarnish her legacy if she comes back for a 6th year and they don't win it. I'm pretty sure she's 100% going pro.
I'mma laugh if she does stay at UConn. I hope she does.
She should stay until she graduates Medical School
How?? She won't be eligible 😂😂 for christ sakes she will be 24 next year...imagine 💀
Due to injuries and COVID, Paige has a sixth year of eligibility. I agree it would be very lame on her part to stay at UCONN.
That would be hilarious if she stayed
Aches old. If she stays she would be clowned. Having said that she could probably make more money if she stays at UConn.
