Fantastic new caravan guys, absolutely gutted for you having to take it back, but as you said Kelly, that’s what a one night stay close by is for. I’m sure you’ll soon get it sorted. 👍🏼👍🏼
Congratulations on the new caravan, looks really schweet! But so sorry to hear you have had problems on your first outing, not good at all! Hopefully the dealer will fix it for you real quick and you will have it back, properly tested and good to go for your next proving run. Look forward to hearing all went well and thank you for sharing your first time out including the not so good experiences... Here’s to a quick fix, cheers, Rog... 👍🏻 😉 🐍
Hopefully sorted rather sharpish for you. Took delivery of our cruiser in November and loving it, so hope you love yours when you get it back. happy caravaning guys
We had the same problem with our Alde heating. Disconnecting and resetting didn't work. Bled the system four times....to the extent of upending the caravan.....and that didn't work. Eventually realised that carpets were restricting airflow to the radiators, and thereby causing the system to overheat and trip out. Since sorting this the heating has functioned perfectly. Very very pleased with it.
we have the same van but the 2019 model, everything fine except the front locker leaks in the rain. it looks like the rubber seal barley joins in the water runs down and in through the seal join. Most annoying!! Also noticed the main seat cushions have started to sag where i sit already and we have only been out twice in it. Still love the van though even though its a beast to tow! hope you get yours sorted soon
Beautiful Buccaneer shame about Alde. Should be a quick fix really as it’s probably a component fail. We loved our Bucc. Missed it after we traded it in 😊 Trev
We were very excited to pick our new Swift Super in August. Unfortunately 7 weeks later we found out its leaking and must have been since new unfortunately. Hope you have a good experience with your dealer. Unfortunately ours is proving less than satisfactory. I'm thinking of starting to blog our journey to hopefully having a caravan we can use. We are certainly learning a lot about the Consumer Rights 2015. Which may be helpful to others. But hopefully your caravan is all sorted now and ready for lots of great memories.
so sorry to see , its heart plunging when something goes wrong, our water heater didn't work on our 1st night and it turned out to be the electric trip switch as it did work on gas. I guess you'd get it back in a couple of days
Lovely caravan but can’t believe your having problems with it already 👎🏻😞 Hope it’s sorted quickly for you and you can start having more adventures 😃😄😄 All the best Michelle and Andy
Sorry about the heating guys but that's what the first night away is for I guess. To find any problems. That it some caravan.... lovely. I am not at all full of envy..... (lie). Best wishes for your new adventures in the new van. Ian...
What a let down. They will fix it of course but they should have caught that problem before you got anywhere near it. I like the way you told the story though, well done 👍
I really feel for you . Had the same when we bought our new caravan . From dealership to storage site things fell off . Electrical problems. It is a Swift conquer . For the price you pay They are absolutely rubbish. Now we have got damp in two places . Won't be buying a caravan ever again . Wished we kept our old one. 12 years old and was bone dry when we traded it in for the new one . And everything worked as it should .
We have had damp issues in our swift. We noticed it when it was 7 weeks old dealer and swift are being horrible. We are the same wish we had kept our 2007 sprite major 6, but we wanted more space for our growing children. We now have a 4 month old caravan that is worth zero.
It’s a joke, these things should just work what a blag Hope it’s all sorted guys Looks a lovely caravan Under floor heating rules, we love it in are hobby !!
I guess these things happen, but it is annoying. BTW what a fab caravan AND how good are those AAWD movers. We have a twin axle, but only 2 movers and it really does need 4.. Thanks for sharing, Graham

Hi could you please let me know how long the handover took? We collect our new caravan at the end of the month. We get the Buccaneer Bermuda and I really hope everything goes well because we are coming over from the IOM and have booked a three week holiday 😬 straight from the dealership.
I love the look and layout of your new caravan. I’m in the US and our “travel Trailers” still look like they did in the 80’s. I looked at the other floor plans online and noticed none have slide outs, is there a reason?
Een kachel van Aldi of Lidl zou waarschijnlijk beter geweest zijn. Hij komt van Alde. Meer eerlijk gezegd natuurlijk inbouwfout van de fabriek en slechte service van de dealer.

I’m gutted for you! Stunning caravan. I’d love to know how the dealership deals with the repairs. I suppose these thing happen, but for me what’s important is how the dealer responds. And, hopefully fixes it with no further issues! Really, really love the van. Aircon too wow 😃
Either not enough fluid in the system (check the header tank in the wardrobe or similar) or the pump isn’t running when it should be. Easy to fix, but back to the dealer.
Hi what’s the update on the buccaneer that you bought. I was thinking of getting one but after seeing your video I have had to have doubts about the build quality can you please give me some update
Sorry to hear and see the problem, due to their poor reputation you will have many trips back to the dealer. Prepare ,but hope not, we know people that have rejected two vans by the same manufacturers. Would it happen to a new car? NO it would be fixed immediately, not back in for who knows how long.
So, being owned by Hymer doesn't seem to have improved the Elddis experience. Nice van when it works, and I guess you could have used the aircon unit for some heat, provided you had an electric hook up?
Lovely van you have. Shame you experienced an issue on your first outing. My wife and I have just purchased the the buccaneer galera 2017. We have seen on your videos the awning you have and really like it. Could you let us know what awning you had on your buccaneer galera? Thank you and happy caravaning. Excited to hear more on your CL site 😁
Thank you. We will look into that. We have only just got it today. We will not get to go away in it for a couple of weeks (work commitments). Its beautiful tho and it's a massive upgrade from our sprite we have had the last 4 year!!
PDI, waste of time. You would need to be with your dealer to make sure they do what they get paid for. Now the van has to go back to the dealer for warranty work. They get paid twice by the manufacturers. I have this on good authority from someone who works in the industry. Trouble is owners are out of pocket too and fro to the dealers.
hope you didn't pay for a pdi because they obviously didn't do it that is shameful,l poor service after spending that amount of money I would refuse it and get a replacement just to make them sweat a bit, they are to use to passing off a poor service and just fixing problems as they happen give them something to worry about
Lovely looking new caravan congrats but good grief couldn't the dealership test it first that's just sloppy, especially on one of those!!!!!!!! They were lucky you had air con and underfloor heating otherwise you'd all have been frozen and abandoning your test trip :(
