The Caravan Nut Yes Campbells at Lostock Hall he's picking it up from.
Got mine from Blackburn, I’m sure he will have a great experience with them like I did. Looking forward to seeing it. I’m going to have a catch up with your recent uploads later, hope you are both well 👍
good video m8 stunning van hope u enjoy it
Cheers, it’s in really good condition. 👍
yer it looks stunning this is my 1st of caravaning so i watch your videos to help me out a bit i have got a 2006 stearling eccles moonstone and we love it keep up the good work
Glad I am of some help, that was the whole idea of me doing this, and as a hobby. Hope you enjoy caravanning for many years 👍
Beautiful caravan, but it does mean you need to change the picture at the start lol. Have fun!!
Ah, yes. Will be doing that next week when we are away. Cheers 👍
Just watched a few of your vids, now subbed. we looked at one of these this morning, same year nice condition as well, i have read a quite a few stories of damp in the corners, just wondered if you have had any problems, as i see that you said you keeping an eye on your corner storage. at the moment we have a coachman which is solid but really like the Valencia unicorn.
All your vida are so well filmed and edited and to the point.
all the best to you
It’s luck of the draw with the S1 Unicorn, if you open the front 2 side lockers and lift the plastic trays up you should be able to see if there are any damp issues. Also lift the plastic tray in the front has locker.
Hope that helps, thanks for watching and the sub. Cheers
@@TheCaravanNut Many thanks for the reply, very helpful.
Hi mate, nice van. If your Kuga is the 163ps version, you have a 85% match, so no worries on the towing front 😊
Cheers, yes got the 163ps, will find out on Saturday towing up to Ullswater! 👍
Enjoy your new caravan :-)
Will do, Thanks 👍
Looks a lovely van. We have the same one but on a double axle. I’m finding filming when you don’t have a caravan difficult😂 cheers Oliver
It feels far bigger than our old van, Double axle would feel even bigger! 👍
The Caravan Nut it’s very long a heavy. We do toe with a kuga though
Good tow car! 👍
Tell us about it. We have been at it for over 6 months. Choose caravan related topics or try and film at a Caravan dealers. Just a thought. phil
Just bought the exact van today. Had a video tour but you have also helped with a few little things I missed. Just wondering how long the battery is going to last off grid. Very excited to pick it up and head out this week to play around with it.
Hope you are happy with it, make sure you check the nose weight as they are very heavy at the front. The battery probably won't last too long off grid without a solar panel. We've never been off grid and don't intend of doing it.
Hope all goes well with it, cheers
I just bought a 2011 Bailey Unicorn Valencia. It’s our 2nd caravan and seems beautifully appointed. Do I need to add a bead of neat silicone around the sink, hob and along the back of the work surface? What is this water cup on back of fridge?
Not added any sealant to that area but will check it out to see if it’s needed. As for the water cup, if you take the external fridge vents off you can access the back of the fridge, there is a small plastic tub that collects water from the fridge. It often gets filled with water, mainly in warmer weather, I use kitchen roll to soak up the water before towing again.
Thanks
Great video and stunning van mate. Love the amount of storage you have, that side locker is massive. You mentioned your having a motor mover fitted, is this something you have always used? We’re having one fitted tomorrow.
Cheers, never had a motor mover before. It’s just easier with one on and we have found that when we go to France the vans are better positioned sideways at the back of the pitch, a bit difficult to do with out mover! 👍
The Caravan Nut ah that sounds sensible, we’ve got a two week trip to France booked and a few sites so think it will be worth its weight in gold. Look forward to your motor mover video.
I know the "plate" is usally mounted by the caravans door with Miro & MTPLM (so ths plated) but (Ok, so its a dumb question) what does unplated mean?
‘Up plated’ most caravans can have their MTPLM increased giving you a higher payload, this can in my case account for the extra weight of the motormover which I fitted. If you go to the manufacture of your van they should tell you if you can increase and what the cost is. Hope that answers your questions. cheers Martin
What do you think of the kuga...towing-wise?
We have mondeo 2.0 tdci. Haven't towed with it yet, but working on it lol...
The other-half says our next car needs to be something she can "step up into"....i've always had fords....i like fords...:-)
It’s a great tow car, we have the 163bhp AWD which tows with ease. I will have another but an auto next time, getting old! 👍
Haha....hear what your saying lol....
I thought about getting the mondeo (bridget) chipped...so she has power when needed and economy when needed. I commute 70 miles a day.
The Mondeo is the same engine as mine I think. It should tow well, we just like the higher seating position in the Kuga. 👍
Hi mate. We’ve just brought the same van. What do you mean about up plating the weight please? Ours has a motor mover fitted
You can buy a sticker from Bailey that increases your MTPLM. However it’s about £65 and only gives you an extra 35kg, so not worth it in my opinion. Just need to be careful how much stuff you put in it! Hope that explains it. Cheers
Don't think it's a whale pump.. that'll be a filter you think is a pump. It should have an on board water pump?
don't know what model or year your kuga is or bhp or 2/4wd auto or manual but if up plating to say 1600kg pushes you closer to the limit of the recommended 85% have you done a new match to be on safe side.
Hi, I have done a tow match at 1600kg, it’s over 85% however the 85% is recommended with less experienced and less confident towers in mind, Experienced caravanners can tow up to 100% of the cars kerbweight, driving 44 tonne trucks, towing trailer/ caravans for many years I think I can put myself in the experienced category! Cheers 👍
good lad. not having a go, just pointing out as some don't know what we do.
No worries, good question, just wanted to clarify as someone else would have asked the same. Cheers 👍
Hi. Can i ask of you have doe a video about the water system, as I have the same van and this is my first one. Just wanted to see how you load the water system?
Hi Chris & Claire, think this vid might help, it includes cleaning water/waste pipes Thanks
ruclips.net/video/FO0hLEP7j-Y/видео.html
@@TheCaravanNut thats brilliant. Thanks so much, just need a them pipes now if there are any links lol. Thanks in advance
Just search food grade hose, the flat pipes on the real save space 👍
Looks a brill van mate. Love it. Are you off to pooley bridge pal? Cheers Chris
Hi Chris, yes Pooley bridge this time. We are really pleased with it. Speak soon mate. Cheers 👍
