For this list, we'll be looking at the most abysmal uses of the open world format. Our list of the worst open world games includes “Redfall” (2023), “Driv3r” (2004), “Crackdown 3” (2019), “Dead Island: Riptide” (2013), and more! What open world game made you jump back to reality? Waifu Impact was also in Watchmojo's worst games of 2022 list, and as soon as Ricky said "Take it from the writer of this video, who bought this game and got the platinum trophy twice...", I knew that Ty wrote the video. If he's reading this comment, I just have one question for him: How and why did you get the platinum trophy TWICE?

Out of everything he was bashing, yeah this caught my attention as well. If you really hate a game, it's enough to stop playing it but to platinum it.... Twice?
Spiderman 3 gets way too much hate. All of the game's flaws were also present in the second game.
It seems like people love to kick this game for that QTE that went viral, which I'll admit is really funny.
The controls too are literally the same as SM2 but slower
Also I played it on PC with little frame rate issues
Spiderman 2 will always be better than SM3, movie and game.

Homefront: The Revolution has TimeSplitters 2 Full Game in 4K as an easter egg 🥚
That was the only reason why I bought it (on a sale).
Homefront was a buggy mess.

No full game unlock cheat code the developer once lost was found on a piece of paper and was a miracle he found it.@@McGeezle
@@McGeezleoriginally yes! But they found the whole TS2 files in the Homefront files and revealed you had to put in a code to play the full campaign! Unfortunately, you have to do it every time, but still pretty cool!

I'll admit I have a soft spot for Superman returns. It's one of the few games where you can actually fly like Superman and it doesn't feel restricted.
Redfall was developed by Arkane Austin. Dishonored series was just Arkane Studios.

Big L when it comes to Breakpoint. I found it to be a decent open world third person shooter.
Especially after the big update, it's definitely a fun game to drop some time into. Even at launch it wasn't horrible, it just wasn't Jungle Wildlands.
Me and my brothers loved Breakpoints multi-player playing with 3 other ppl was 🔥

Sorry going to argue with Dead Island 3. It actually improved a few things from the original... Gave us the all powerful John Morgan and the awesome movie theater level. Gotham knights was fun to. I had a blast. But this is why I love this hobby.. It's very subjective. I love things people hate... And hate things people love. Your money, your time, your enjoyment... Whatever makes you happy play it!!!

Gotham knights was actually really fun and had a great story I thought the visuals were nice to look at each character had unique comment things once you reached a certain level. But for the most part I agree with this list

Nah facts. I play til this day a lot of ppl do. The combat solid. Story great. Match making don’t really have any issues. The online co-op and heroic assaults aren’t really buggy. I genuinely think this game gets hate cuz it’s not Arkham that’s it

@@randomblackguy2290 for what it is was and the plot it was great. It was well written bat family story. It shows hardship overcoming odds. Fighting for a purpose. And I can say it was certain points in the story that needed to be tweaked or removed but all in all nothing In the story overall was flawed

It was so disappointing to see how much of a change there was between Spiderman 2 and 3. 2 was easily one of the best superhero games ever, and 3 was such a huge drop in quality that it gave me whiplash.

I actually liked Homefront The Revolution, the only thing I hated was you couldn't continue gameplay post story.

If I could sum up one thing about Waifu Impact….it’s DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball meets Genshin Impact sandwiched together.
I gaslighted myself so hard as a kid with driv3r 😂 i really played it for hours and hours just riding around. I think it was the cities that hooked me. I loved driving around that european spot specifically
I will say you trippin on conan exiles, that game is easily the better of the survival genre and one of the only ones not copying ark. Its a damn shame theyll be eaten alive by the tencen monster
Kinda surprised Saints Row wasn't on here considering it kinda ended Volition, though I heard that was more the suits' fault than the actual devs.

Honestly I agree with you. I played through it recently and actually kinda liked it, was just surprised it wasn't listed with how much some slam it.
Could definitely see some of the issues people have with it though, especially some of the vehicle action.

Conan exiles is a great game, really enjoy it
I really want to know what games this guy plays them if almost everything is on this list. Granted some of them yes but half of these actually have a story you just have to know what you are doing.
I wasn't a fan of the amazing spiderman 2 game i liked the first game better
I say Gotham Knights wasn't that bad, the gameplay was fun and the story was well written
In my opinion... Spiderman 3 and Gotham Knights are gems in my eyes. Sure, they aren't perfect, but Gotham knights especially I had a lot of fun with.
I recently beat Gotham knights and had a genuine blast with it. I played as Red Hood for my playthrough. It's not perfect and I can see why many hated it but for me I turned my brain off and just played it and ya know I had fun. It's easily a 6/10 for me.
Dead Island: Riptide isn’t so bad
It's amazing to me how, no matter what channel it is, no matter what the content of the video is about, "Driv Three Er" has to be a "joke" whenever Driver 3 is in discussion like the 30-somethings making this video act like they 1. Didn't live through the l33t Sp34k generation and 2. like it's the only media project to ever do this. It's quite tired at this point.

9:23 main problem is naming "metal gear" if this will be a different named game its decent game also most people not know this game have survival assets just like mgs3 and kojima always tell people " i want make zombie game and main character will be a gray fox" so in my opinion if you play like a different named game its actually not that bad.
Even if Survive wasn't named MEtal Gear it would still be trash

Gotham Knight does not deserve the heat it gets I have fun playing that game love the story I’m definitely in love with the combat for each character in the game. I literally enjoy Gotham knights wayy more when marvels avengers came out that game so disappointing to me
when i played that spider man 3 and amazing spiderman 2 game I was just 8 9 years old so for me as a child these games were amazing and I really loved those games also finished these games multiple times.... but now when I see these games it really makes me laugh 😂😂

At this point I think I'm the only person alive to actually enjoy Gotham Knights. Sure there's too many currencies but I think the gameplay is actually good enough, and so far I don't have any issue with the story

The issue is that Gotham Knights just puts a big Neon Sign all but literally over it's own head saying "I'M THE ARKHAM GAMES BUT I SUCK MORE!" It has all the same gameplay that the Arkham games do but does them all worse in a lot of little ways that anyone who is a fan of the previous games (i.e. anyone who would have any interest in playing the game in the first place) can easily see it.
It's like... gaming uncanny valley. All Gotham Knights does every second one is playing it is constantly remind anyone who has ever played the previous games that it is not doing anything anywhere near as good as those games did every single step of the way.
@@immortalfrieza As someone who has played Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight (which still isn't a lot of experience) I have to admit the Arkham games are on a whole other level. The fact that Arkham Knight, a great game on its own is considered a disappointment speaks a lot about how high people tend to set their expectations in retrospect to older games. In my case I always keep them low so I'm either right or the game is better than expected and tbh I'm a huge Red Hood and the mere experience of playing as him even if u can't shoot ennemies dead just makes me extremely biased towards the game

Not even 10 minutes in this guy called breakpoint a fps and cried conan exiles wasn’t based on the movie and had bad fighting mechanics, which tells me he didn’t play much considering the fighting was pretty deep
Once you think of Gotham Knights as Batman's inFAMOUS: Second Son of this generation, it really isn't that bad. Not great, but not terrible either.
Considering Infamous Second Son was at least in the same league as the previous 2 Infamous games while Gotham Knights went out of it's way to be "the Arkham games but shitter" I don't agree.
I actually enjoyed it pretty good. I just played it like a normal game not looking for anything other than beating up bad guys, a decent comic story, and super hero fun

I really enjoy the PS2, Wii versions of Spider-Man 3, replayed it a few times, and had fun each time...the XBOX 360 and PS3 versions however...oh man...not good.
HOMEFRONT revolution is a great game. It was a game that looked extraordinary for someone like me who couldn't able to afford a good graphics card. I didn't face any glitches because mostly i spend raising alarms to get lost in the combat. It was my 2nd visual blast because i never thought gtx 750ti can run this at high setting. The first one was MOH WARFIGHTER. I never thought gt610 can handle that kind of graphics at that time.
Conan exiles is awesome dude. Great game to explore, and has a lot of Conan lore hidden in it.

I liked Scarlet despite its flaws i think its a good game.
I actually like Crackdown 3. It wasn't amazing but I don't think it deserves to be on this list.
Sure Gotham Knights and Redfall may not be a good open world games , but I rather played those than The War Z ,Raven's Cry or Day One Garry's Incident

I love Superman Returns. It's a flawed but very fun game. Same with Spiderman 3 for which i loved the ps2 version before i got a 360 and ps3.

I play dynasty warriors 9 every day on ps5 with playable monitor a perfect game to play on the side and you also have to be dynasty warriors fan.
Mgs V is almost as empty as arma 3

I also disagree with that choice too. I played the PS3 and 360 versions and it has a decent open world along with an explorable subway system the side content is also pretty decent, but there are a lot of QTEs. That being said, I don’t know how this compares to the second game on PS2.

It wasn't really open world, the levels were just big and empty.
As a kid that game was awesome

I was expecting to see some of the following games on the list:
Two Worlds - boring Gothic-like RPG from the same studio that made Raven's Cry
Saints Row reboot - need I say what happens when you alienate your fanbase and ignore the feedback from them (criticism aside, R.I.P. Volition and thank you for making games that defined our childhood)
7 Days to Die (console versions) - horrible ports of an early access PC game that is praised by its fanbase
Risen 3: Titan Lords - Piranha Bytes should really step outside of their comfort zone when it comes to combat and story
Need for Speed: Undercover - one of the weakest entries in the series with a pointless open world structure and questionable AI during races
Bully: Scholarship Edition (PC version) - another example of a great console game with a shoddy PC port

It's not one of the best open world games and it's not the best SR game but it's not as bad as everyone says it is.

I don't get it why gotham knight and tasm2 get hate? I got no issue playing that game, no bugs good story... for tasm2 if you comparing with marvel spiderman ofc marvel spiderman way better but it's not wise comparing old game with something with new engine
